Temerario GT3: Lamborghini's First In-House Race Car Debuts At Goodwood
Same Heart Minus Three Electric Motors
Powering the GT3 is the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the road car. But to meet GT3 regulations, Lamborghini removed the electric motors and fitted smaller turbochargers. That drops power produced by the gas-fed engine from 800 hp to around 550 hp, but it also slashes weight. The redline still sits at an ear-piercing 10,000 rpm, and a custom Capristo exhaust makes sure it sounds the part. The dual-clutch transmission is gone too. In its place is a six-speed transverse gearbox, designed to take the abuse of endurance racing.
Designed To Be Fast And Easy To Fix
Lamborghini's Centro Stile and Squadra Corse teams worked together to sculpt the GT3's bodywork. It's made from carbon composite materials and shaped to find the perfect balance between downforce and drag. But it also had to be practical. The front and rear body sections are single-piece units for quick removal in the pits, and even the headlights are fitted with quick-release connectors. Cooling has also been improved to keep everything stable during long runs, especially the two turbochargers. Underneath it all is a modified aluminum spaceframe, fitted with a fully removable rear subframe and an integrated roll cage that meets FIA GT3 safety standards.
A Bare-Boned Cockpit and Serious Hardware
In traditional race car fashion, the Temerario GT3's interior has been completely gutted, and only the necessities make an appearance. There's a custom race steering wheel, simplified switchgear, and a new data logging system to help teams monitor performance. The suspension is all-new, too. The GT3 rides on six-way adjustable KW dampers and features a longer wheelbase and wider track than the outgoing Huracán GT3. In theory, that should give it more grip and better balance, especially through high-speed corners. It has some big shoes to fill, though. The Huracán GT3 won 96 titles in a racing career that spanned nearly a decade.

View post: Do You Have to Be an Off-Roader to Daily a 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro? My Thoughts After Reviewing It 2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition models raise the stakes It seems as though Porsche has somewhat of a love affair with special edition models, and the German automaker's latest unveiling only reinforces that notion. As if the Porsche Taycan wasn't already an impressive specimen, the 2026 Black Edition models arrive with more standard equipment and model-exclusive details fit for the streets of Gotham, as well as Porsche's larger battery. 2026 Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition — Source: Porsche Porsche Taycan Black Edition sedans gain standard equipment The Porsche Taycan Black Edition models sport styling updates from the SportDesign package, which includes a sporty lower front fascia, side skirts, and rear diffuser. The SportDesign Package in High Gloss Black can be optioned on a base Taycan for $3,600. While you may be able to add most of the black equipment to a standard Taycan, black side mirrors are exclusive to the Black Edition variants. Additional elements include a black interior accent package and black brushed aluminum door sill guards. Lastly, the Black Edition sedans feature a rear light strip with an illuminated black Porsche insignia and 'Black Edition' lettering, athletic 21-inch wheels, HD-Matrix Design LED headlights, and puddle light projectors that display the Porsche logo Inside, 14-way seats, a Bose surround sound system, Porsche Electric Sport Sound, and black embossed leather trim come standard. The Black Edition sedans gain Lane Change Assist and Surround View with Active Parking Assist as well. There are also several available options for the interior, including a two-tone design, while certain cabin components can be customized through the automaker's Sonderwunsch program. 2026 Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition — Source: Porsche Despite what the name entails, the Black Edition sedans will be available in all paint colors under the Shade category, which normally adds $820 to the price tag. Those finishes include Jet Black Metallic, Ice Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Volcano Grey Metallic. You can also opt for a color from the Legends and Dreams categories, but expect to pay a premium. Porsche is also offering further customization through its Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programs, which cost an additional $13,620 and $31,100, respectively, on a base Taycan. The standard Performance Battery has an 89 kWh gross battery capacity (82.3 kWh net). Normally a $5,980 upgrade, the larger battery increases range to 318 miles in the base 2025 Taycan. 2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition starts at $120,600 2026 Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition — Source: Porsche The Black Edition will be available on the lower three trim levels of the Taycan. The base 2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition starts at $120,600 and boasts 429 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque, representing a 27-horsepower and 7 lb-ft of torque increase over the base Taycan. The Porsche Taycan 4 Black Edition, from $124,600, offers 429 horsepower but gets bumped up to 449 lb-ft of torque with launch control. That 140-lb-ft increase shaves a tenth of a second off the Taycan 4 Black Edition's 0-to-60 mph time. The Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition tops the trio with a $138,500 price tag. For that kind of money, the 4S Black Edition sees its performance skyrocket to a peak of 590 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque with launch control. As you'd expect, the 2026 Taycan 4S Black Edition reaches 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. 2026 Porsche Taycan 4S Black Edition — Source: Porsche Final thoughts Porsche has already come out with several limited variants of its iconic 911, and now the all-electric Taycan sedan is getting the stealth treatment for the 2026 model year. The downside for some customers may be that the blacked-out theme is only available on the lower three trim levels, and there's no word whether that will change. Frankly, Porsche's Taycan Black Edition models seem like they're straight out of Bruce Wayne's garage – and I'm perfectly fine with that. Porsche claims deliveries of the 2026 Porsche Taycan Black Edition sedans will begin this fall, but you can configure them now. About the Author Joseph Pudlewski View Profile

Can the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Dethrone the Tesla Model 3 Performance?
Performance figures show the new Hyundai is more than a match for the Tesla Model 3 Performance Tesla arguably kicked off the introduction of performance EV models with the Tesla Roadster way back in 2008, but it's a wildly different landscape now, and you can purchase a very fast EV from automakers like BMW, Ford, and everything in between. One of the most competent performance EVs out there is the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, and now, there's a sedan version in town. Sharing a powertrain but getting smaller and cheaper means the new IONIQ 6 N has the Tesla Model 3 Performance squarely in its sights. Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Tesla Model 3 Performance, poundage, and price: How much trouble is the Tesla Model 3 in? The IONIQ 6 N takes an early lead on the Tesla Model 3 Performance — on paper, anyway. The IONIQ 6 N shares a powertrain with its predecessor, the 5 N, which means up to 641 horsepower on tap when you click into N-Grin Boost mode, and 567 pound-feet of torque available whenever. Hyundai quotes a zero to 60 mph time of 3.2 seconds. Both the IONIQ 6 N and the Tesla rely on all-wheel drive and dual electric motors, but while the Tesla Model 3 Performance isn't a slouch, it loses the initial comparison. Base horsepower and torque figures sit at 510 and 554, respectively. Surprisingly, though, Tesla claims a quicker zero to 60 mph time, estimating the sprint takes just 2.9 seconds. One reason for the quicker sprint to 60 mph might be the Tesla's lower curb weight. The fastest Model 3 tips the scales at a fairly light 4,054 pounds. We don't have official numbers for Hyundai's IONIQ 6 N, but we can take a guess. Comparing the IONIQ 5 to the IONIQ 5 N reveals the standard all-wheel drive car weighs 4,608 pounds, while the N version weighs 4861 pounds. A regular IONIQ 6 with all-wheel drive weighs 4,462 pounds. Assuming the 6 N gains the same amount of weight from the full N treatment, we can guess the IONIQ 6 N's weight at around 4,715 pounds. That 700-pound disadvantage relative to the Model 3 Performance could cost it first place on the dragstrip. So, finally, there's the price. A bigger horsepower figure doesn't always mean a higher MSRP, but the IONIQ 6 N will start a little bit higher than the Tesla Model 3 Performance. Hyundai hasn't released pricing yet, but since the IONIQ 6 is around $5,000 less expensive than the IONIQ 5, the base MSRP should be right around $60,000. That's a $5,000 premium compared to the Tesla, which starts at $54,990. The Tesla also likely touts a longer range. The mechanically identical 5 N offers an estimated 221 miles, while the Model 3 Performance makes it 298 miles on a full charge. More money for identical performance? A deeper dive says otherwise On the surface, the IONIQ 6 N may look decidedly more like a sidegrade than an upgrade compared to the Tesla Model 3 Performance. However, there are also other key areas where the Hyundai sedan should excel. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N gets massive brake rotors that dwarf the Tesla Model 3's, measuring 15.7 inches in the front and 14.1 inches in the rear. That's about an inch bigger in the back and nearly two in front. While both vehicles share 20-inch aluminum wheels, only the IONIQ 6 N offers 275-section tires on all four wheels. Finally, the IONIQ 6 N offers a lauded 'fake shift,' which allows drivers to 'change gears' via paddle shifters. These differences may seem small, but they could make a big difference, especially in the kind of driving situations the cars are ostensibly built for. IONIQ 6 N Tesla Model 3 Final thoughts The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N and Tesla Model 3 Performance are more similar than different, and both look to be incredibly competent performance sedans. Do we think the IONIQ 6 N is objectively superior to the Model 3 Performance? We'll have to drive it to find out. That said, it certainly has some clear advantages. At the very least, the competition will force Tesla to take notes. About the Author Steven Paul View Profile

WATCH: New Range Rover EV prototype on test
Close This is the new electric Range Rover, in still-secret prototype form. And we've driven it off-road. Join Matt Saunders here as he guides you through the new Range Rover EV's technical details, some of which are still to be confirmed. What we can tell you is that it'll have two motors, one at each end, totalling 542bhp. There's a 118kWh battery underneath the car too, which because it's a stressed element helps make this the strongest Range Rover yet built. It may well be the heaviest too, but we'll know more about that when final details are released, ahead of the car's launch this coming autumn. For now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sound of silence as this exceptionally quiet EV goes about its off-roading business. Watch the video by clicking above.
