Saiyaara emerges biggest grosser of 2025 beating Chhaava overseas
Backed by Yash Raj Films, the musical romantic drama raked in over USD 10.7 million (Rs 92 crore) in the international markets and emerged as the highest grossing Hindi film of 2025. It took just 13 days to storm past the total overseas collections of Vicky Kaushal's monstrous hit Chhaava and Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par to secure the top spot.
The blockbuster movie is not slowing down anytime soon. With glowing word-of-mouth and no significant competition, Saiyaara is likely to see good traction in its third week as well- despite the release of Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2.
Talking about its worldwide box office, Saiyaara clocked over Rs 408 crore gross mark in 12 days. Of which Rs 318 crore gross came from the domestic markets while the remaining were fetched from the foreign territories. The Mohit Suri film is now heading towards the Rs 500 crore mark globally and Rs 300 crore net mark in India. It will be interesting to see how far the modern young love story can go at the box office.

Registration in progress for RIFFK in Kozhikode
Delegate registration is in progress for the Regional International Film Festival of Kerala (RIFFK), to be held in Kozhikode from August 8 to 11. The festival, organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, was last held in Kozhikode seven years ago. Screenings will take place at the Kairali, Sree, and Coronation theatres in the city. The festival will feature 58 films offering a cross-section of contemporary world cinema, with five shows scheduled per day. Dhadak 2 Box Office collection Day 3: Shazia Iqbal's directorial debut starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri witnessed a slow start after finally being released in the big screens following multiple delays. Three days into its theatrical release, the movie has now crossed the ₹ 10 crore mark. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhadak 2 movie's net collection as of Sunday evening, August 3, stands at ₹ 10.34 crore. The Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer movie minted ₹ 2.74 crore, which is nearly ₹ 1 crore less as compared to Dhadak 2's collection on the first two days. However, Sunday's collection is only the early estimate, as the final figures are yet to trickle in. He said that the first half feels uneven, 'a few impactful moments aside, the narrative takes time to find its footing… But the interval episode turns the tide, setting the stage for a gripping and emotionally charged second half.'

While making the film, the idea was to ensure a thrilling experience for the audience. I believe that for a film to work at the box office, you have to either make the audience laugh, cry or just stun them-play with their heartbeats. This win will act as a huge motivation and I will try to make sure that I always live up to the audience's expectations. '
