X Factor and Union J star Jaymi Hensley cancels Pride show a year after his fiancé's shock death

X Factor star Jaymi Hensley has announced has pulled out of his upcoming show at Pride nearly a year after his fiancé's sudden death. Union J's Jaymi, 35, who rose to fame as a member the boyband in 2012, was set to appear as a solo artist at Worthing Pride but has had to cancel his gig. He took to Instagram on Saturday to announce the cancellation and explained that the reason behind it was 'personal'. Jaymi said: 'Guys I'm really sorry for those who were coming to see me but for personal reasons I'm unable to perform at Worthing Pride tomorrow. 'I really hope you understand I never cancel unless it absolutely necessary.' Jaymi did not add any further details on why he had pulled out of the performance at the LGBTQ + event. Last year, Jaymi's fiancé Oliver Marmon, 33, lost his life after plummeting from a window at Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northampton. Jaymi, who was cleared by police after reportedly being arrested on suspicion of murder following Oliver's sudden death, thanked his fans for all the 'love, messages and prayers' sent to him after the loss of his much-loved fiancé. The statement issued to MailOnline read: 'Jaymi Hensley would like to thank all the love, messages and prayers sent to him over the loss of his beautiful fiancé Oliver Marmon. 'At this time the family would like the media to respect the privacy of Jaymi and Oliver's family while they mourn the loss of Oliver.' In September 2023, Jaymi reminisced on his long-lasting relationship with Oliver and looked forward to their upcoming wedding, which was due to happen the next month. On Instagram, he wrote: '14 years together and one year until 'I do.' 'Happy Anniversary @ollymarmon! I think of many beautiful quotes when I think of our relationship so far but one that really sums it all up for me is from her Late Majesty QE2, 'He has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years.' 'I love you irrevocably and so excited that in 365 days we will finally be Mr & Mr.' The couple, who have been engaged since 2014, were excitedly looking ahead to their future before the tragedy occurred. Oliver shared a poignant Instagram post on July 21 of the pair smiling on holiday in Norway, commenting on their upcoming nuptials. He said: 'Norway! you were epic! Over and out! round 2 on Arvia Mediterranean bound. Best week with my man and 9 weeks and counting until we say I do!' His final post on the social media platform came seven days later and pictured him and Jaymi in Marseille, France, with the caption: 'Bonjour de Marseille.' Detectives launched a murder investigation after paramedics and police officers battled to save Oliver's life but he was pronounced dead at the scene an hour later. Jaymi was released without charge and the case into the tragedy has been closed after a forensic post-mortem examination carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary 'did not support' Oliver's death as homicide, police said. Jaymi was one of the founding members of Union J, although they auditioned as a trio called Triple J. But the judges added George Shelley, and the group was renamed Union J. The four-member band came fifth in the competition, which won by solo singer James Arthur - beating Rylan into fifth. The group signed to Sony Music subsidiary RCA Records, and released their debut single 'Carry You' in June 2013. Their self-titled debut studio album was then released in October 2013 and peaked at number 6 on the UK Albums Chart. George left the group in 2016 before Josh followed two years later - leaving Jaymi and JJ as a duo. The pair officially disbanded in 2019. They announced a reunion show at London Palladium in 2022 to celebrate Union J's 10th anniversary and a comeback tour but Jaymi quit ahead of the gig.

TASTE TEST: Prestatyn's hidden gem Tudor House

I had several places in mind, Prestatyn really has an excellent array of eateries, from fine dining at Dishes to one of the best Asian restaurants in North Wales, Chynna Garden. But amid the multi-coloured Pride flags, my attention was drawn to two bird cages. Bird outside Tudor House (Image: Matt Warner) What kind of café has exotic birds at the door? Birdcage at Tudor House (Image: Matt Warner)Tudor House does, and there is so much more eccentricity within. So, thanks to those two colourful birds, the decision was made. The place was decked out in rainbows to celebrate Prestatyn's first Pride, as were the majority of the High Street's businesses that day. Tudor House like many businesses in town was decorated for Prestatyn Pride (Image: Matt Warner)It's great to see a local business that is at the heart of the community, and a quick look on the Tudor's social media suggest that's exactly where it is. Quizzes and other events on special days like D-Day, Valentine's, and Christmas, raising money for local charities like Help Hedgehogs Prestatyn, seem to be a regular part of the Tudor's social calendar. The Tudor's website tells me it is run by Paul and Ivor, who say: "We can't wait to welcome you, so join us at the top of the High Street as soon as you can, once you've been once, you'll be looking forward to your next visit. See you soon!" Words like "unique" and terms like "hidden gem" are overused in reviews like these. ROOM FOR MORE? But when applied to Tudor House they perfectly describe the venue. The decor is as eclectic as any I've seen, as if several personalities are fighting to put their stamp on the space. The fish tank at Tudor House (Image: Matt Warner) There is a giant fish tank that wouldn't look out of place in an aquarium, a baby grand white piano on a raised stage, the aforementioned exotic birds on the door, and a mini-library. Fancy a read? (Image: Matt Warner)I can say with confidence that there is no place quite like it. The baby grand at Tudor House (Image: Matt Warner)I ordered the sausage and mash. Bangers and mash at Tudor House (Image: Matt Warner)While the dish wasn't as flamboyant as the surroundings by any meal, it was a hearty plate of food, the type of comforting grub my nan would make. And that is high praise indeed as some of my most fondly remembered meals were eaten from my lap while watching Blockbusters. The sausages were girthy and well-cooked, the mash buttery, and there was plenty of both. Could it have had more gravy? For me, always, but the mash was smooth enough that it didn't need additional lubrication. I didn't go for dessert, but could see a range of ice creams and homemade desserts were no offer that I will be sure to sample next time I visit. Tudor House has a Tripadvisor rating of 4 based on 168 reviews. "Lovely place brilliant food excellent value. Can't fault it friendly staff good service. Well worth a visit any time of day breakfast or lunch. Afternoon teas good too." "Fabulous place, good food, very friendly staff, great coffee. For a 'drop in coffee' or planned meal, it's great. Never had a bad experience at the Tudor Well done." "We have visited the Tudor House multiple times, and it never disappoints! There is a wide selection of foods and beverages with consistant excellent quality."
