Calgary police release pictures of suspect in e-bike theft outside Ogden pub

Calgary police are hoping to identify a man who allegedly stole a custom e-bike outside of a pub in the community of Ogden.
Police say the owner parked the e-bike directly in front of Partners Pub and Grill, in the 7700 block of 18 Street S.E., just before noon on Friday, May 16, to pick up a food order.
Minutes later, he exited the pub to discover his bike was gone.
Police say CCTV footage shows the suspect walking past the bike with a dog at 11:47 a.m., before returning at 11:53 a.m. to take it
'The suspect is seen on CCTV travelling on the bike through the parking lot of the pub before crossing 18 Street S.E. and into the alley behind the 1800 block of 76 Avenue S.E.,' police said in a Thursday news release.
The suspect is described as 40 to 50 years old and 5′8″ (173 cm) to 6′ tall (183 cm) with a slim build and brown hair.
He was wearing black pants, a black Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, a black Nike hat, white sunglasses, a black shoulder bag and black-and-white shoes.
The dog was a white pit bull style with a brown spot in the middle of its back and a brown backside.
The e-bike, which police say is the victim's main source of transportation, is a yellow Fucare Libra full suspension 750W electric bike with a custom seat with a camera and light on the back, and sticker on the front down tube.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.

He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious, life-threatening injuries. Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and face coverings, police said. They were last seen fleeing the parking lot in a late-model grey Honda CR-V SUV. Police said the victim appears to have been specifically targeted. Anyone with information or dash cam footage of the area between 11 p.m. on Friday and 1 a.m. on Saturday is asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.

Man, 20, charged with impaired driving after fatal UTV crash in Erin, Ont.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after a single-vehicle collision involving a utility task vehicle (UTV) in Erin, Ont., that left another man dead early Saturday morning. Ontario Provincial Police say they got a call at 12:15 a.m. for a crash at the intersection of Sideroad 10 and 8 Line. At the time of the crash, there were four occupants on the UTV. Police say a 19-year-old man from Burlington died in the crash, while the other three passengers did not suffer any injuries. Investigators have charged 20-year-old Julian Connell from Erin with operating while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, dangerous operation causing death, operation causing death and young driver blood alcohol content above zero. Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Central district general patrol officers responded to the area near Qu'Appelle Avenue on June 26 after a woman was stabbed by an acquaintance over a verbal dispute. The woman was transported to hospital in unstable condition which has since been upgraded to stable condition. She remains in hospital. Police said the woman was approached around 7:15 p.m. while walking in Central Park and a verbal argument escalated. The suspect armed herself with a knife, where she 'repeatedly punched and stabbed the victim causing serious injuries.' A 29-year-old woman was arrested nearby at 7:35 p.m. after fleeing the scene. She was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and failing to comply with probation and release orders. She was charged with identity fraud after providing a false name to officers. The woman is being held in police custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
