Jackie Chan understood 'nothing' his costar Chris Tucker said during Rush Hour

Washington [US], June 4 (ANI): Actor and filmmaker Jackie Chan has an interesting revelation about the first 'Rush Hour' movie. During his recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he shared his working experience in the film and the challenges he faced while shooting it.
'Rush Hour' is a 1998 cop action comedy film directed by Brett Ratner and written by Jim Kouf and Ross LaManna from a story by LaManna. It stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as mismatched police officers who are assigned to rescue a Chinese diplomat's abducted daughter. Its box office commercial success led to two sequels: Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Rush Hour 3 (2007).
On talking about the film, Chan said, "The whole movie, I don't know what Chris Tucker's saying," he added, "Not a clue," reported People.
Chan later shared that in "every shot" his dialogue was "different" because of how much he struggled to understand. "My dialogue coach sits right behind the camera," he continued. "Every scene, every shot, different dialogue."
When asked if he ever shared about the challenges he faced, Chan replied, "Yes"
"I asked my dialect coach, 'What did he say?' He speaks so fast!" said Chan.
Chan said he ultimately learned English by listening to country music, as the songs are slower, reported People.
This revelation about 'Rush Hour' film came after Chan opened up about his favourite films in the trilogy.
"I don't know. You know what, the first one: little money, little time," said Chan about the original 1998 movie, adding,"We shot it like, 'Go, go, go, go!' The second one: a lot of money, a lot of time. The third one: too much money, too much time."
"Too much money is no good," Chan added.
On the possibility of 'Rush Hour 4', Chan revealed during his December 2022 appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia that he was "talking" about it, according to People.
'Karate Kid: Legends' was released in theatres on May 30. (ANI)

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 2 (ANI): Director of 'The Kerala Story', which bagged two honours ar the 71st National Film Awards for Best Director and Best Cinematography has dedicated the win to the girls of Kerala. "Winning the National Award is a surreal feeling. When a filmmaker starts his journey and goes through several ups and downs amid the struggles, such an achievement with the country's biggest award feels very special" director Sudipto Sen told ANI. He acknowledged the contributions of his team and thanked them. "The journey of making The Kerala Story was a team effort and it is the team's victory. It was not made in Mumbai but we went to small villages and cities in Kerala and collected facts for the story. It is a different kind of feeling," he said. Sen dedicated the National Award win to the girls of Kerala and added, "I hope my hard work and the team's efforts will spread the message about their sufferings and bring consciousness among people." The filmmaker further hailed the work by 'The Kerala Story' cinematographer, Prashantanu Mahapatra, who also won a National Award for his work in the film. "He is among the most sensible cinematographers in the country. I have worked with him in my first film and also my first feature. He has a great cinema, light, and visual sense. He impressively depicted the scenic visuals from Kerala and Ladakh. It was a rarest of the rare camera skill," Sen said. The filmmaker also opened up on how producer Vipul Shah showed faith in him and was moved to tears after hearing the story. "I was frustrated. Vipul Ji came like an angel and showed trust in me at that time. He was in tears by the realistic story and was ready to make the film. It is a collective effort by me, Vipul Ji, and the team," he shared. Meanwhile, Vipul Shah said the win felt "gratifying and satisfying." "The National Award is the country's biggest honour and the competition is very tough. With hundreds of entries, being appreciated on a national level is very gratifying and satisfying," he said. Chinese diver survives 5 days trapped in underwater cave, rescued after final signal

A Chinese diver from Furong Town in Xiangxi, Hunan province, miraculously survived after spending five days trapped inside an underwater cave. A Chinese diver survived five days in an underwater cave by finding an air pocket and signalling rescuers with a flashlight as oxygen ran critically low.(Representational image/Unsplash) As reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the man, known only as Wang and believed to be in his 40s, disappeared on July 19 while diving in a local river with a friend. (Also read: China's first robot joins PhD programme in drama and film to study traditional opera) The river, known for its depth and complex cave networks, features an underwater cave entrance around nine metres below the surface. Wang vanished just five minutes into the dive, prompting his friend to raise the alarm. Search teams race against time Local police swiftly launched a rescue mission and requested assistance from the Xiangxi Shuguang Rescue Team as well as cave-diving specialists from Baise, a city in the Guangxi autonomous region. Despite two deep dives by Baise's special police cave team, initial efforts yielded no signs of Wang. During one dive, rescuers thought they heard a faint knocking sound from within the cave. Surface teams were ordered to cut their engine noise to listen more closely, but the sound did not reoccur. Divers eventually descended to a depth of 130 metres without success. A desperate signal leads to breakthrough On their ascent, at around the 100-metre mark, rescuers finally caught sight of Wang. Tian Yanglin, captain of the Xiangxi Shuguang Rescue Team, told the Xiaoxiang Morning Herald, as cited by SCMP, that Wang had initially seen the divers swim past him from above but was unable to make contact. As his oxygen level dropped to just four per cent, he made a final effort by jumping into the water from a pocket of trapped air and waving a charged flashlight. 'That moment was his last chance,' Tian said. Survival in extreme conditions Wang survived in a hollow air-filled section of the cave. Trapped and disoriented, he lost all sense of time and endured by eating raw fish. Miraculously, he was in good physical condition when rescued and managed to walk unaided to the ambulance. His first words to rescuers, after days of unimaginable isolation and stress, were simply: 'Do you have a cigarette?'
