Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars are targeting 7-foot-3 Italian center Luigi Suigo. The 2026 recruit reportedly has the Cougars on a short, according to Joe Tipton of On3.

The big man is expected to be visiting a few Big Ten programs, but could make a trip to Provo in the near future. Louisville, Kentucky, and Texas A&M are also pursing.
Suigo played last season for Olympia Milano and also stood out in the adidas Next Gen Tournament Euros earlier this year. In the title game of that event, he finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

During the 2024 U17 FIBA World Cup, Suigo averaged 7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Suigo was also one of 60 invitees to the NBA's Basketball Without Borders Europe, rising his international profile.

What makes Suigo intriguing is his size, but Mhis Basketball IQ could be his most underrated characteristic. If BYU can make an impression early, they have a decent chance to land him.

The Athletic names USC as one of the most valuable college football programs in the US

The USC Trojans have a large following and are one of the more popular teams in college football. USC has had historic players on the same team -- such as Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush -- and a generational talent such as Caleb Williams. The Trojans have one of the most talked about coaches in college football: Lincoln Riley When USC is playing good football, it is great for the entire landscape of college football. In the latest ON3 article presenting The Atheltic's ranking of the top 25 most valuable programs in college football, USC cracks the list at No. 8. Here is writer Nick Kosko's thoughts on USC's ranking: "The Athletic used a bit of a caveat here, saying the Trojans are basically trading in Pac-12 payouts for the Big Ten revenue share. That's a big difference to add onto their brand, despite average to above-average success since their dominance in the mid 2000s. The brand power is strong, as is the LA market and population. Ultimately, the outlet put this college football program in the Alabama, Oklahoma territory in terms of history compared to others." The Trojans were already a big deal in the Pac-12, but switching over to the Big Ten has come with benefits such as more money and attention. More eyes and more attention can also mean higher standards and higher expectations which Lincoln Riley has failed to meet. The Trojans have to adjust to playing in the best conference in college football. Patience is growing thin. This year will hopefully be the year we see Trojan football rise to the occasion. With a good season in the Big Ten, USC's popularity and revenue could skyrocket.

Lincoln Riley Wants USC-Notre Dame Rivalry: 'One of the Reasons I Came Here'

All the reshuffling of schedules, conferences and playoff formats in college football has placed one of the sport's best rivalries in jeopardy: USC-Notre Dame. The contract for a rivalry that dates to 1926 expires after their game in 2026 in Los Angeles. Both schools have expressed a willingness to lock down more games, but differences over how many appear to be holding up the negotiations. USC's move to the Big Ten gave the Trojans less flexibility in their non-conference schedule. Big Ten teams have nine conference games and only three open slots. Speaking at Big Ten Media Days on Thursday, Trojans coach Lincoln Riley said he was, of course, hopeful that the series will continue. But not at any cost. "I want to play the game. Absolutely. It's one of the reasons I came here," Riley said. "But, also, my allegiance and my loyalty is not to Notre Dame, and it's not to anybody else. I'm the head football coach at USC, and I'm going to back USC." Some of the uncertainty revolves around the College Football Playoff. The Trojans have lost six of the last seven against Notre Dame. If CFP leaders decide to award four automatic bids to the Big Ten, which is the conference's preference, a long-term deal to play the Irish might be more palatable to USC. A system with more at-large bids, however, would make it more difficult, from a CFP standpoint, to absorb a non-conference loss. Reporting by The Associated Press. Nico Iamaleava says that transfer to UCLA from Tennessee was about being closer to family, not money

Nico Iamaleava sought to downplay the significance of NIL money in his transfer to UCLA at Big Ten media day on Thursday. The former Tennessee QB said that he had always wanted to play closer to his home in California and didn't feel comfortable after 'false reports' had emerged at Tennessee this spring. 'Just false reports that made me not feel comfortable in the position that I was in,' Iamaleava said. 'But in the back of my head I always wanted to come back home. And be closer to my mom, closer to my dad. And you know, just have my family, their support at our games. In our Samoan culture we're always together and I think that's the main thing for me, the driving factor for me to come back home.' In an immediate follow-up about the 'false reports' that Iamaleava referenced, he said they were about an alleged NIL dispute with the school. 'Just false stuff about whether it was a financial thing or not,' Iamaleava said. 'My driving factor to come back home was my family and I hope every Tennessee fan understand that. That it was really one of the hardest decisions that I've had to make. But I had to do what was best for me and my family and ultimately I wanted to come back home and be closer to my family." Iamaleava sat out portions of Tennessee's spring practices amid reports that he was looking to redo his name, image and likeness deal with the school. His father disputed the idea that Iamaleava was looking for more money and the QB entered the transfer portal on April 12. As Iamaleava entered the portal, Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said after his team's spring game that 'there's no one that's bigger than the Power T. And that includes me.' Iamaleava's appearance at media day on Thursday led to his first public comments about his transfer to UCLA. The former five-star recruit chose the Bruins after his younger brother de-committed from Arkansas to go to UCLA. Iamaleava's transfer then led to UCLA QB Joey Aguilar's departure for Knoxville. The former Appalachian State QB transferred to UCLA earlier in the offseason with the goal of being the Bruins' starting QB in 2025. Once Iamaleava arrived, Aguilar left for Tennessee as the Vols were suddenly in need of a starting quarterback. In his lone season as Tennessee's starter, Iamaleava was 213-of-334 passing for 2,616 yards and 19 TDs with just five interceptions. Eleven of those 19 TD passes came in Tennessee's four non-conference games. He had eight TD passes and three interceptions over eight SEC gams and the College Football Playoff. In UT's loss to Ohio State in the first round of the playoff, he was 14-of-31 for 104 yards.
