Gold medalists: The Stellenbosch University Choir and the SA street dance group. Longstanding conductor of the Stellenbosch University Choir, André van der Merwe, said he was proud of the students. 'They sing in the choir for the love of singing. And our marks of above 95% for all three categories are an incredible compliment at an international level. I am such a proud choir master,' said Van der Merwe on the university's website. Van der Merwe has been with the choir since 2003. 'When I look back on how we performed this week, I would not change anything, because it was both an amazing experience and an amazing learning opportunity,' said choir member and Stellenbosch University student Lambert Tuyishime. ‘I am a vessel for the viewers': MaBlerh on his return to ‘RHOD'
The highly anticipated reunion of The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) season 5 finally aired, and the internet is still abuzz, from Minenhle "Minnie" Ntuli physically assaulting co-star Londie London to host Mthokozisi "MaBlerh" Cele aiming to diverge from the not-so-peaceful reunions in previous seasons. The reunion sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with fans and viewers taking to Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. While some praised the host for providing closure and accountability, others were left disappointed, frustrated and wished for him not to return. "The reunion was flat: no Minnie, no Nonku, no MaBlerh and these ladies decided to bully Precious, mocking her business and laughing, speaking in vernac, knowing she will not hear [understand] them?" tweeted one user. The reunion was flat, no Minnie no Nonku oMablerh and these ladies decided to bully Precious? Mocking her business and laughing speaking in vernac knowing she will not hear them? NA FAM but I didn't expect anything This is the worst re-union ever! #BORED #RHODurbanS5 — Kello (@Kello_Lello) July 4, 2025 If you're friends with someone like Q niyafana. Why is MaBlurg arguing with the twins? They said she made them feel that way with her words. What a horrible host, why didn't he say this when Londie said she won't apologise? #RHODS5 — Alice Lumpa Lenshina (@ntwanie) July 11, 2025 Also, MaBleh did incredibly well in the second part of the reunion. Really proud of how he encouraged expressions, affirmed Jojo, held the twins accountable and spoke up for Londiwe. A ton of integrity. Vital, for a host. #RHOD #RHODurban — Lu 🦍🖤 (@Nolundi_M) July 11, 2025 We chatted with MaBlerh on his experience of the recently aired reality show reunion and what it was like to relive the drama and tension of the show. When you received the news that you'll be hosting The Real Housewives of Durban again, what was your reaction? I was definitely excited. I enjoy doing this show. I looked forward to seeing the ladies, as I only see and interact with them once a year. You've been staunch about the ladies being held accountable. How did you ensure each of them would be accountable at the reunion? I am a vessel for the viewers. It is the viewers who are always baying for the ladies to account for their actions and words. I merely facilitate that process by asking relevant questions. What are your thoughts on what unfurled in season 5 compared to season 4 of RHOD? Season 5 took me by surprise. I didn't expect the drama to reach the level that it did. I thought the new ladies were going to take some time and settle in. Little did I know. What shocked you the most this season? I honestly did not expect the drama between Minnie and Londie to escalate to the level that we saw. With the pressure that the cast experienced about what they wear, do you think the members embodied the expectations of the show this season? It is always weird to me when the conversation about classism and opulence creeps up on Real Housewives in South Africa. The whole premise of the show is rooted in glamour and opulence around the world. We tune in to see expensive houses, cars, jewellery, trips, lunches, etc. The clothes are part of that expected opulence.

Next Stay Close ✕ KwaLifa and Mafa Butchery, known for its quality meats such as succulent steaks, crispy bacon, and tempting biltong, proved to be the perfect spot for the captain to fuel up before the big game. Gqeberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, provided the ideal backdrop. Famous for its stunning beaches, diverse wildlife and rich historical tapestry, the city embodies a vibrant culture that promotes relaxation, adventurous outdoor activities and warm interactions. Kolisi, who is beloved by locals, took the opportunity to revel in everything Gqeberha had to offer. In a delightful twist, the captain also shared a light-hearted moment on TikTok, showcasing his sense of fun as he danced along to a popular tune, "iWalk Ye Phara", while enjoying popcorn after a family movie night. "There's no place like home 🕺🏾 I love being in GQ," he said. Kolisi is no stranger to the community's spirit and happily embraces the joyful moments that come with being home. Kolisi also took a meaningful township tour with his children during their visit. In a touching TikTok video, he walked through Rolihlahla, a township named after Nelson Mandela, accompanied by his sister Liphelo and his daughter Keziah. As the trio strolled through a street lined with informal dwellings, Kolisi reflected on his roots and the resilient community that surrounds him. Both Zwide and Rolihlahla are informal settlements facing challenges such as protests for improved housing and essential services like electricity. This visit marked a novel experience for Kolisi's children, who were travelling without their mother, Rachel, as the couple navigates their current divorce. Yet, moments like these illustrate Kolisi's commitment to sharing his heritage with his family, ensuring the next generation appreciates their roots. With both heartwarming familial moments and culinary nostalgia, Kolisi continues to resonate with fans, proving that even amid the pressures of professional sport, home remains a cherished place of solace and inspiration.
