A New Waldorf Astoria Nile Cruise Is Coming to Luxor & Aswan
Hilton is bringing its storied Waldorf Astoria brand to the Nile with the launch of the Waldorf Astoria Nile River Experience—a new luxury cruise set to sail through the heart of Egypt's cultural legacy.
Launching in late 2026 in partnership with Middle East For Nile Cruisers, the experience will unfold over four- and six-night itineraries between Luxor and Aswan. Guests will board at private docks in either city, setting off to explore the ancient temples of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, and historical landmarks in Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Aswan.
The vessel will span five decks and feature 29 elegantly designed suites, each with sweeping views of the Nile. Onboard amenities will include a rooftop deck, a full-service spa, a fitness centre, and distinctive dining experiences like the signature Peacock Alley and a brasserie blending Egyptian, Mediterranean, and international cuisines.
Hilton currently operates 14 properties in Egypt and plans to triple its presence in the coming years.

Libya signs infrastructure deals with Egyptian firms to boost reconstruction - Markets & Companies
Libya's Fund for Development and Reconstruction signed two major contracts on Saturday with Egyptian companies for critical development projects across several Libyan cities, part of a comprehensive plan to rebuild the country and enhance its infrastructure. The first set of contracts was signed with Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, chairman of Neom for Real Estate Development, Trade, and Investment. These projects will focus on reconstruction in cities like Derna and Al-Bayda, which were devastated by Cyclone Daniel in September 2023. These include developing Wadi Al-Naqa in Derna, which features 800 meters of retaining walls to enhance public safety and prevent landslides. The deals also cover the expansion and modernisation of the 62.5 km road linking the 10th Ring Bridge to Aqabat Al-Bakur, a key route connecting the mountains to the coast. Projects for Al-Bayda include upgrades to the 22 km western entrance road and the completion of surface roads around the city's two main bridges. Infrastructure works in Derna will also see a new wastewater network and a power treatment plant to boost basic services. Neom will also construct eight water culverts along Derna's Corniche Road to prevent flooding and improve rainwater drainage. Additionally, it will design and implement a new sewage network and treatment plant in Al-Bayda, with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters to meet future demand. In a second round of agreements, Eng. Belqasim Haftar signed additional contracts with Eng. Khaled Madi, chairman of Wadi El Nile for General Contracting. These aim to strengthen further road networks, bridges, and electricity infrastructure in key regions. These projects include completing Phase 2 of the Al-Bakur Bridge and Road, implementing electrical works along the Tobruk–Emsaad Road, and surface works for the Al-Sement Bridge and Al-Tayyara Roundabout in Benghazi. Gov't: National natural gas network supplies stable
CAIRO, July 3 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met Thursday with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to review the latest developments regarding integrating Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) into the national natural gas network to enhance energy security and meet summer demand. During the meeting, Badawi shed light on the progress made so far in the preparation of the floating regasification units berthed at Egyptian ports. These units receive, regasify, and inject imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) directly into the national grid, supporting power plants and other essential sectors, he said. He affirmed that all relevant national entities and companies are cooperating to ensure the security and sustainability of natural gas supplies to all state sectors across the country. Badawi added that petroleum sector companies have already completed all required works, preparations, and technical tests ahead of schedule at the marine berths of Arab Petroleum Pipelines Company or SUMED and Sonker ports in Ain Sokhna, in preparation for accommodating the floating units. The premier also discussed with the petroleum minister the natural gas supply procedures for power generation stations nationwide to prevent any electricity outages. In this regard, Badawi confirmed the stability of natural gas supplies through the national network to meet the needs of the electricity sector and other vital sectors. (MENA)
