The director made announced in an interview with YouTube channel Jake's Takes . Gunn disclosed that Superman's father, Jor-El, will be played by none other than Bradley Cooper, who starred as Rocket Raccoon in Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the conversation, Gunn shared that he called upon Cooper, who he deemed a "close friend", to do him a solid to which the actor agreed to a small voice part in the upcoming superhero film. "I just said, 'Hey, will you do me a favour? Come down, go to England, we're going to shoot you in a 3D environment, make a hologram of you, and you can play Jor-El.'" recalled the director. "He was like, 'Okay.'" At the moment, Cooper is just making a little cameo appearance, but Jor-El could potentially turn up in future films with a meatier role as Gunn teased: "You never know. It's possible." A few other actors who have previously worked with the filmmaker are also providing small voice-acting roles in the film, with Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff and Alan Tudyk all set to play robots in the Fortress of Solitude. While Cooper will have a small role, Nicholas Hoult will have a chunkier part as he portrays Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor, with the actor recently teasing that fans may even find themselves agreeing with the supervillain. "Even though you perhaps don't agree with his process, there's an element where you can understand on some levels where he's coming from and why what he's pushing as his ideology is perhaps better for humanity," said the actor. "Superman" is premieres in cinemas on July 11. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
