Home minister mourns lance corporal killed on duty in Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail extended his sympathies to the family of Lance Corporal Muhammad Amirul Aiman Muhammad Othman, who lost his life during a police operation early this morning.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, the minister expressed his sorrow over the passing of the 24-year-old officer and urged the bereaved family to stay resilient. 'May Allah SWT forgive his sins and place him among the righteous,' he wrote, acknowledging the officer's service to the nation.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa confirmed that Muhammad Amirul Aiman was involved in a fatal accident while riding his motorcycle along Jalan Kuching towards Selayang. The incident occurred at 4.30 am when he lost control, collided with a road divider, and fell. Another officer trailing him sustained minor injuries.
Muhammad Amirul Aiman had served in the department's Intelligence/Operations Division for over a year after completing training. He is survived by his wife and three children. His burial will take place in Ajil, Terengganu, later today. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

KOTA TINGGI: Two friends lost their lives in a five-vehicle crash, believed to have been caused by a car that veered out of control along Jalan Sungai Rengit - Kota Tinggi. Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the incident occurred at KM66 around 4.10pm on Friday (June 28). "Initial investigations found that a 26-year-old male driver lost control of his car, which then crashed into three vehicles travelling in the opposite direction. "The impact of the collision caused another car, driven by a 68-year-old man, to lose control before ramming into a lorry," he said in a statement. Supt Yusof added that the man and his 73-year-old passenger both suffered major head injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims' bodies were taken to the forensic unit of Kota Tinggi hospital for further examination and a post-mortem procedure. "Two other male drivers aged 26 and 27, also involved in the crash, were taken to the same hospital for medical treatment," he added. Meanwhile, a 49-year-old lorry driver and a 30-year-old female driver were detained by police to assist with the investigation. He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. "The public is advised to always stay alert and obey traffic laws and regulations to ensure everyone's safety on the road," he said. Earlier, the Kota Tinggi fire and rescue department reported that a five-vehicle collision near Felda Pasak resulted in the deaths of two elderly men, while nine others, including a baby, survived. Kota Tinggi Fire and Rescue chief Mohd Shawaluddin Ami Nordin said a total of eleven victims were involved in the incident. He added that the two deceased have been identified as Thai Toon, aged 68, and Lor Ah Kwee, aged 73, were travelling in one of the cars and were found trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Motorcyclist run over by trailer in highway crash
SEREMBAN: A motorcyclist was killed when he was run over by a trailer at KM254.6 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) heading north near here yesterday. Seremban police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the 51-year-old victim died at the scene from severe head injuries in the 4pm incident. "Initial investigations found that the victim was trying to avoid a four-wheel drive (4WD), driven by a 65-year-old man with a 54-year-old woman passenger, which had braked suddenly. "He swerved right and struck the 4WD's right side mirror before falling into the right lane and being run over by a trailer," he said in a statement today. Another motorcyclist riding behind the victim was unable to stop in time and also crashed into the 4WD. No injuries were reported involving the 4WD occupants, the second motorcyclist, or the trailer driver. The victim's body was sent to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Department for post-mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Op Samseng Jalanan: 15 motorcycles seized, 55 summonses issued in Miri

MIRI (June 29): Fifteen motorcycles were seized and a total of 55 summonses were issued for various traffic offences during the 'Op Samseng Jalanan' operation held at Jalan Bandaraya Miri, Jalan Marina Utama and Jalan Miri-Bypass from 10pm last night until 3am this morning. Miri District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the operation was carried out by a team from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Miri District Police Headquarters (IPD Miri), comprising one senior police officer and seven personnel. 'During the operation, a total of 17 vehicles were inspected. Out of that number, 15 motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 after they were found to have been modified from their original structure and for further inspection. 'Throughout the operation, 15 individuals were also checked, and a total of 55 summonses under PDRM (K) 257 were issued for various traffic offences,' he said in a statement today. Mohd Farhan said this operation will continue to be carried out from time to time. He advised road users, especially motorcyclists, to always drive or ride responsibly and cautiously on the road, refrain from participating in illegal street racing, avoid modifying the original structure of vehicles, and not gather at roadsides causing traffic congestion and noise disturbance to public peace.
