Qatar Takes Part in OIC Foreign Ministers' 51st Session in Istanbul
The State of Qatar is participating in the ongoing 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), currently taking place in Istanbul, Turkiye.
H.E. Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani is heading Qatar's delegation to the session.
The meetings are addressing the latest developments in the region, with a particular focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the continued Israeli aggression against the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran and its serious regional and international implications.
The discussions also center on ways to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through diplomatic means, with the aim of promoting security, peace, and stability in the region and the wider world.

71 people died in Israeli attack on Evin prison in Tehran: Iran
Tehran cTypeface:> Israel's attack on the notorious Evin prison in Tehran earlier this week killed at least 71 people, an Iranian spokesman said on Sunday. US president calls for deal on Gaza
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has called for an agreement on the Gaza Strip, noting that the Israeli side "right now" was in the process of negotiating a deal with Hamas. "Make the deal in Gaza. Get the hostages back", Trump posted on Truth Social, noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in the process of negotiating a deal with Hamas that includes the release of hostages. This call comes as the Israeli army announced that its attacks would escalate in several areas, especially in and around Gaza City. The US President had predicted on Friday that a ceasefire agreement would be reached in the Gaza Strip "within this week", stressing that the situation in Gaza was "catastrophic".

Khulaifi, US senators discuss regional developments

During the meeting, they reviewed the close strategic relations between Qatar and the US, ways to support and strengthen them, and the joint efforts that resulted in the peace agreement between Rwanda and the DRC, and the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, Lebanon, and Syria, in addition to a host of topics of mutual interest.
