Vizag to host 5 Women's Cricket World Cup matches

Sivanath chaired the ACA general body meeting held in a hotel on Sunday. The ACA members discussed the construction of stadiums, hosting national and international Cricket matches in AP, proposed International Cricket stadium in the capital Amaravati, funds allocation and cricketing activities in the State.
Later addressing the media, ACA president Sivanath alias Chinni said he was very happy that Vizag is hosting five international women's World Cup matches.
He said the ACA has its own lands in Kurnool and Nellore districts and efforts are on to construct the stadiums in these two districts. Referring to the proposed International Cricket stadium in Amaravati, Sivanath said the ACA has asked the State government to allocate 65 acres land in Amaravati for construction of International Cricket stadium in the capital Amaravati and proposals were made to construction a stadium with international standards.
He said the ACA secretary Sana Satish and IT Minister Nara Lokesh already spoke to ICC chairman Jay Shah. He said the BCCI has given consent for construction of Cricket stadium in Amaravati. ACA secretary Sana Satish said the ACA general body meeting discussed the construction of cricket stadiums in every district. He said Women's World cup tournament will be held in September and October 2025 and five matches were alloted to Vizag. He thanked the BCCI for allotting five matches to AP.
He said the annual budget for district associations in AP doubled and Rs 40 lakh will be allocated instead of existing Rs 20 lakh. He said cricket will get big boost in the district with more allocation and stated more Cricket matches will be conducted and players will get more experience.

With the bowling spearhead only available for three matches and the visitors having already conceded a 1-0 lead, they have a task on their hands. In the first Test at Leeds, the pitch was flat but the Indian bowling often looked listless yet Bumrah found a way to create impact. Bumrah's figures in the first Test might suggest a solid performance with 5 wickets in the match, an average of 28.0, but it's the comparative data that should worry India. While Bumrah struck once every 52.4 balls, the rest of India's bowlers managed a combined strike rate of 83.4. Meanwhile, his average of 28 is less than half of the rest of the bowling line up – 65.4. It's a stark contrast to how toothless India looked without him. On the scoreboard and to the viewer, he was the only bowler who looked capable of consistently threatening England's aggressive batting approach. Although he went wicketless in the second innings and no other bowler seemed up to the task either, he kept them in the contest by constantly beating the bat or building pressure. His false shot percentage has steadily climbed from 20-21% to peaking at 28% in the 2023-25 cycle. In a nutshell, batters are playing fewer scoring shots and more bad ones against him over time. The coaching staff of Gautam Gambhir and Ryan ten Doeschate maintain that despite his unavailability in at least two matches, they can put together a winning XI. A single bowler cannot win you matches and questioning bowlers constantly means hindering the path to develop a pace battery, they say. But there is no denying that it is a mental blow. When Bumrah plays, his energy and accuracy bring a certain authority to the field. England's batters know they can't take liberties when he's bowling. Without him, India must find other ways to hold England back. But as the numbers show, replicating Bumrah is tough. Another option is adding another attacking bowler. One that England might hesitate to take liberties against. But if India believe that their lower-order batting and not their bowling is the primary area of concern as of now, it could be too late in the series before they address it.

CAT blames RCB for deadly stampede in Bengaluru, says IPL team 'did not take the appropriate permission'

The incident happened during RCB's IPL 2025 victory celebrations and led to the death of 11 people, while many others were injured. CAT blames RCB for stampede The Tribunal was hearing a case filed by Additional Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar Vikash, who had been suspended after the incident. In its ruling, CAT said that the police were not at fault and instead blamed RCB for poor planning and not taking proper permissions from the authorities. 'Prima facie it appears that the RCB is responsible for the gathering of about three to five lakh people. The RCB did not take the appropriate permission or consent from the Police. Suddenly, they posted on social media platforms and as a result of aforesaid information the public were gathered,' the Tribunal's order read. As a result, a massive crowd turned up at Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium for the team's victory parade the next day. The Bengaluru traffic police cancelled the open-bus tour due to security concerns, but the rest of the event went as planned, including a felicitation ceremony at the state assembly. 'It cannot be expected from the Police that within a short time of about 12 hours the Police will make all arrangements required in the Police Act or in the other rules. Police personnel are also human beings…To control the aforesaid type of gathering and for making the proper arrangements sufficient time should be given to the Police.' the order stated. Following criticism, the state government suspended senior police officials and ordered the arrest of RCB and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) officials. The tribunal has now blamed RCB for the incident and said that the police were not at fault.
