Tyler children raising money to support community soccer field 1 lemon at a time
Longview ISD hosts special education track & field day
The Idlewildle Soccer Field, on Richmond Road, provides Tyler residents with a space to enjoy the outdoors and gather together as a community. Both of the soccer goals are currently broken, which inspired Jack, Hudson, Tristian and Benjamin to spend their day off from school running a lemonade stand to raise money to buy new goals for the field.
The young entrepreneurs have already made a significant profit since opening up their stand at 11 a.m. this morning. The boys spoke about what motivated them to raise money to support their local park.
'At first, it was just a normal lemonade stand, like every kid would do to raise money. We later decided to help raise money for the soccer goals,' Benjamin said.

Ann Marie Hoover, one of the boys' mothers, provided more details about the fundraising efforts.
'The Idlewildle soccer fields and goals are used daily by residents of the neighborhood, a nearby apartment complex and local soccer teams,' Hoover said. 'Our current goals are broken, and the replacement cost is $2,000. The neighborhood kids are stepping up by donating parts of their profits to help make that happen.'
The boys managed to raise more than $100 in profit through the first hour. Those who want to contribute can donate to @annmhoover on Venmo.

Ultimately, it came down to relationships with the staff. "I chose Oregon just based on the stability part of the coaching staff, how they've been recruiting me ever since my freshman year of high school," Benjamin said. "I'd say just how they approach the day-to-day basis of the little things, just checking in and seeing how I'm doing, seeing if I'm still working. Just keeping me grounded to earth, making sure that I'm doing the right things, really just building that connection with them over time, and them not putting on a facade just because this is a recruiting trip. They've been who they've been from the day I met them, all the way throughout." It doesn't come as a major surprise to hear this, seeing as Lanning has preached "relationships" throughout his time at Oregon when it comes to the recruiting world. It seems to be working well, too, with the Ducks' class now ranking No. 7 in the nation for this cycle, and potentially improving as we get closer to National Signing Day in December. Oregon Ducks land commitment from 5-star DB Davon Benjamin
Dand Lanning and the Oregon Ducks filled the summer offseason months with a lot of recruiting wins, and it doesn't appear that they are slowing down now that we're getting into fall, either. Earlier on Saturday, 4-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds announced that he would be committing to the Oregon Ducks. Now, 5-star cornerback Davon Benjamin is joining him and also picking Oregon over the likes of the Texas Longhorns and Michigan Wolverines. The 247Sports Composite rates Benjamin as the No. 35 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 4 safety. He stands at 6-foot, 170 pounds, and while he is listed at safety, there is an expectation that he will move around in the secondary for Oregon. Benjamin is the Ducks' (18th) member of the 2026 class, and the fifth 5-star player, which is the most in the nation. Ahead of Saturday, Oregon had the No. 8 class in the nation, but with the addition of both Benjamin and Geralds, they move up to No. 6. The commitment doesn't come as a major surprise, seeing as there was a crystal ball prediction from the 247Sports recruiting staff for Benjamin to pick the Ducks. With both Benjamin and Geralds now in the mix, Oregon wrapped up the remaining major targets left on their board. Over the next several months throughout the season, there are some players out there who the Ducks will likely work on trying to flip from other schools, and new prospects could pop onto the radar, but Oregon's class in 2026 has shaped up nicely. Where Oregon football stands in 2026 rankings following Davon Benjamin commitment
The Oregon Ducks continued their hot streak on the recruiting trail on Saturday, landing yet another 5-star player in the 2026 class. 5-star defensive back Davon Benjamin announced his commitment to the Ducks on Saturday afternoon, giving Oregon their fifth 5-star player, the most in the nation. The 247Sports Composite rates Benjamin as the No. 35 player in the 2026 class, and the No. 4 safety. While Benjamin is listed as a safety, he is expected to move around in the secondary at the collegiate level. Benjamin chose the Ducks over the Michigan Wolverines and Texas Longhorns. This commitment comes just days after Oregon landed 5-star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M Aggies. With the addition of Benjamin, the Ducks moved up in the recruiting rankings by a spot, jumping from No. 8 over the Ohio State Buckeyes to No. 7.
