Hair Care Tips: Try This Natural Remedy To Darken Greying Hair
If you're fed up with applying henna or chemical-based hair dyes to darken your greying hair, there's a natural and safe alternative you might want to try. An age-old remedy, passed down by grandmothers, promises to restore your hair's natural black colour—without causing any damage.
Premature greying can be distressing, and many people turn to expensive dyes or hair colour products to hide it. However, these chemical-laden solutions often come with side effects, including scalp irritation and hair damage. In some cases, they can even accelerate greying.
For those looking for a homemade, natural fix, this simple remedy made with easily available kitchen and herbal ingredients could be the answer.
In the Bundelkhand region, the Amaltas tree, also known locally as Tesu or Chivla, is commonly used in natural treatments. And with it, you can prepare a completely natural remedy to dye your hair black at home.
How To Prepare It
Break a small piece of Amaltas wood and soak it in water overnight. The next morning, add fenugreek seeds and Kalonji (black cumin) to the same water and boil the mixture thoroughly. Once done, strain the liquid using a clean cloth and store it in a bottle.
Divide the mixture into two parts. If you prefer, you can add a bit of shampoo to one part. Spray the plain herbal water onto your scalp and hair roots. Let it sit for some time, then rinse thoroughly using the shampoo-mixed water.
This two-step natural hair care routine is not only chemical-free and cost-effective, since Amaltas, Kalonji, and fenugreek are widely available, but it also offers a gentle, side-effect-free way to gradually darken greying hair.

These 6 Habits May Help 'Reverse Cancer', Claims US Expert After 30 Years Of Research
According to Dr Seyfried, these steps aren't a substitute for treatment but may aid the body alongside therapy by creating an internal environment where cancer struggles to survive US-based biology professor Dr. Thomas Seyfried has claimed that cancer may be reversible through certain lifestyle and dietary interventions. His assertions present a controversial and unconventional perspective on the disease. Dr. Seyfried, who has spent nearly three decades studying cancer, argues that the growth of cancer cells can be influenced by relatively simple changes to daily habits. He maintains that these approaches are not intended as replacements for medical treatments but could be considered complementary. A report by The Economic Times quotes Dr. Seyfried as suggesting that cancer should be viewed not only as a genetic condition but also as a metabolic disorder. His research claims that cancer cells rely heavily on glucose for survival, and therefore, strategies that limit glucose availability might help control their growth. He further asserts that changes to diet and lifestyle could create an internal environment that is less conducive to cancer cell proliferation. According to him, these changes might also reduce the risk of cancer in otherwise healthy individuals. Dr. Seyfried has reiterated that these lifestyle measures are not cures or alternatives to established medical treatments. He advises that any such changes should be made in consultation with qualified healthcare professionals. His views have sparked interest and debate, especially regarding the idea that daily habits—such as managing stress, staying active, and maintaining a specific diet—could play a role in the body's resistance to cancer. However, medical experts caution that such claims should be approached with critical scrutiny and evaluated within the broader context of peer-reviewed scientific research. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Regular yoga like Bhujangasana and Tadasana can help strengthen the heart and lower the risk of heart disease Amid hectic routines and unbalanced lifestyles, heart-related ailments are rising at an alarming rate. Conditions like high blood pressure, stress, and cholesterol are affecting people at a much younger age. In such a scenario, keeping the heart healthy and strong has become more important than ever. Practising yoga regularly not only enhances flexibility but also boosts cardiovascular health. Here are some highly effective yoga asanas which, if incorporated into your daily routine, can significantly help prevent heart diseases. Utkatasana (Chair Pose) This asana is known for its cardiovascular benefits. Utkatasana improves blood circulation and strengthens the heart, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks. It enhances the heart's pumping ability, ensuring better oxygen and nutrient supply. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) Also referred to as Sarpasana, this pose is highly effective in improving heart health. This pose not only increases spinal flexibility but also strengthens the muscles around the heart. Regular practice helps reduce the risk of heart attack. Aim to hold the pose for 30 seconds and repeat 10 sets daily. Ustrasana activates the heart by stretching the chest and relieving emotional tension. It helps reduce fat in the belly, chest, and thighs, areas often linked to cardiovascular issues. This pose promotes both physical and emotional well-being, essential for a healthy heart. Tadasana (Mountain Pose) Though simple, this foundational pose helps improve the body's overall balance. It relieves stress and calms the nervous system, which helps in maintaining a stable heart rate and reducing pressure on the heart. Dhanurasana (Bow Pose) This powerful asana deeply engages the chest and abdominal region, strengthening the heart muscles and improving circulation. Dhanurasana supports deep breathing, ensuring better oxygen supply to the heart and lungs, which enhances overall efficiency. Why Is Yoga Crucial For Heart Health? Yoga is more than just a form of exercise, it is a holistic lifestyle. It offers mental peace, physical energy, and emotional stability. Practising these asanas for even 30 minutes daily can play a significant role in preventing heart-related conditions. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
