'We're very, very pleasantly surprised for the first year,' Lewis said in a recent phone call. 'It's as grass roots as it gets.'

'It's all high-quality and niche,' MacIver said.
She maintains a wide range of price points. Some of her rarer inventory, going back to the 1960s and '70s, is priced for collectors, she said, 'but I also recognize that my demographic is college students. I'm 10 minutes from BU. I remember being in college, when I did not have $80 to spend on a T-shirt.'
At her own store in Chicago, Lewis sells vintage apparel, home goods, and jewelry. But she specializes in antique art prints.
'For me, it's about historic preservation,' she said. 'I'm keeping these pieces alive, and out of the landfill.'
For many vintage shop owners, sustainability has become a key by-product of their business. Consumers are more attuned than ever, they say, to the drawbacks of the 'fast fashion' industry and big-box retail, including environmental damage and the exploitation of underpaid workers.

At Nest in Portsmouth, Ardito gets excited when a shopper buys a functional piece of home decor from her rather than spending at Target or Walmart.
'Instead of going to a big-box store looking for a plant stand, they buy something from me that has oodles of character and patina,' she said. 'I love bringing a piece of furniture back from the brink, refurbishing it, and it becomes somebody else's new heirloom.'
She abides by a favorite quote from William Morris, the 19th-century architect and designer associated with the Victorian-era Arts and Crafts Movement in England: 'Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.'
Ardito also has a motto she came up with on her own.
'We're saving the planet, and being badass doing it,' she said with a laugh.

Andy Burnham says he is 'deadly serious' about taking Greater Manchester's transport system subterranean. He wants to run trains and trams under Manchester city centre. The mayor's rather surprising announcement came at the end of an event to launch the new, 10-year Greater Manchester Strategy. That's why I'm happy to be involved and talk to people in Middleton and ask them what they want and what they need. Last night he took to the Castlefield Bowl stage in front of thousands as a support act for The Black Keys. While RAYE and Lewis Hamilton have been friendly for a minute, the internet is currently spiraling at the mere thought of them potentially being a couple. While neither star has confirmed the nature of their relationship, romance rumors started swirling after their recent public appearances at the F1 movie premiere and Silverstone's F1 British Grand Prix on July 4. A source told the Daily Mail, 'I saw Lewis at the side of the stage last night and he was loving RAYE. I was shocked to see him there with qualifying coming up. But he stayed for the whole set and really showed his support to her.' Per the source, Lewis even went up on stage and shared a few words. 'Today, the British crowd went crazy when Lewis came out,' they added. 'And when he bought up RAYE, there were loads of cheers.' Another insider shared, 'He literally didn't leave the side of the stage the entire time, and he was in RAYE's personal side and was loving it. I was very shocked how long he stayed. He was clearly trying to show he's committed.' Earlier that day, RAYE was spotted in the Ferrari garage as Lewis practiced ahead of the F1 Grand Prix. This isn't the first time the pair have been in each other's orbits. Advertisement While Shedeur is now off to the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, his legacy appears to be living on in Boulder with the Buffs' newest QB star, true freshman Julian 'JuJu' Lewis. As a former 4-star player who was ranked as the No. 6 QB in the 2025 recruiting class, Lewis comes to Boulder with high expectations and a bright future. He will have to compete with Liberty Flames transfer Kaidon Salter in 2025, but that isn't stopping him from acting the part of starter, and star, from the jump. How much Lewis, or anyone else on the team get to use that "flex" in 2025 will be interesting to see. After losing the likes of Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, it could be a down year for the Buffaloes, who are rated by ESPN's Football Power Index as the No. 11 team in the Big 12 with a projected record of 6.5-5.5. Should they end up struggling that much, we may see Lewis on the field a bit as Colorado looks to build for the future. If that ends up the case, we may see the flexing live on in Boulder for the 2025 season and beyond.
