Jaghbir: Smear Campaigns Against Jordan's Support for Gaza Are 'Unjust and Unacceptable Denial' - Jordan News

Jordan News19 hours ago
Fathi Jaghbir, President of both the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, affirmed that smear campaigns targeting Jordan's role in supporting Gaza constitute 'unjust and unacceptable denial' and a distortion of a longstanding national commitment led by His Majesty King Abdullah II. He emphasized that the industrial chambers have been a key part of this effort since the first day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza. اضافة اعلان In a press statement, Jaghbir said the chambers of industry in Jordan launched a large-scale campaign on October 9, 2023, to collect financial and in-kind donations for Gaza, in full coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to ensure that aid reaches the Strip swiftly and effectively. 'What we are witnessing in terms of incitement campaigns against Jordan and attacks on its embassies is an unacceptable distortion—not just of institutions but of Jordan's steadfast and principled role in supporting the Palestinian people,' Jaghbir said. He stressed that all Jordanians reject any attempts to diminish or deny Jordan's contributions, affirming that supporting Gaza is a national duty and an honor, not merely symbolic solidarity. Jaghbir underlined that the industrial chambers worked in full partnership with the JHCO to be part of a comprehensive national effort led by Jordan's leadership in support of Gaza—an effort that has never ceased, despite mounting challenges and pressures. He warned that attempts to discredit this role, whether through targeting Jordanian institutions or inciting against the Kingdom, are a direct attack on a firm official and popular stance that is non-negotiable.
'What's happening—this deliberate defamation of Jordan—is a blatant disregard for facts,' he concluded, stressing that standing with Gaza has never been up for debate, but is a united national choice made by both the state and the people.

Netanyahu decides to fully occupy Gaza: Hebrew media

'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netnayahu told his government's ministers he decided to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, according to reports by Hebrew media. Netanyahu used the term 'occupation of the Strip' in private conversations with the ministers, while outlining his vision for expanding military operations in Gaza. The 'Israeli' military will also start operating in areas where it hasn't done so previously, including areas where captives are known to be held, according to a senior official close to Netanyahu cited by Yedioth Ahronoth. 'There will be operations even in areas where hostages are being held,' the official said. 'The die is cast — we are going for a full occupation of the Gaza Strip,' he added. The 'Israeli' military currently controls 75% of the Gaza Strip, and under Netanyahu's plan, it is expected to occupy the entirety of the Strip. US President Donald Trump gave the greenlight for Netanyahu to proceed with the plan, after the ceasefire talks reached a deadlock, the report by YNET adds.

Israeli FM: We Will Not End Gaza War on Hamas' Terms - Jordan News

Israeli FM: We Will Not End Gaza War on Hamas' Terms Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar asserted Monday that Israel will not end the war in Gaza under conditions set by Hamas, emphasizing that the return of all captives held in the Strip must occur unconditionally. اضافة اعلان Speaking at a press conference, Sa'ar stated: 'Hamas is trying to impose terms aimed at ensuring its continued rule over Gaza—this is categorically unacceptable. We will not conclude the war based on Hamas' demands.' He reiterated Israel's goal of ending the war and securing the release of all captives, while favoring diplomatic solutions over prolonged military conflict. Sa'ar acknowledged ongoing U.S. efforts to develop a post-war framework for Gaza and said that Israel is closely coordinating with Washington on this matter. He noted that the U.S. intends to step up efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with active coordination underway. The Israeli minister also criticized positions taken by countries such as France, Canada, and the UK, arguing their actions amounted to 'rewarding Hamas' and prolonging the conflict. He urged these nations to 'understand the consequences of their behavior,' characterizing their recent decisions as indirect support for Hamas. Sa'ar accused the group of terrorizing Palestinian civilians and using them as human shields, reiterating: 'There is no place for Hamas in the future of Gaza unless it disarms and abandons its militant path.' He concluded by affirming Israel's condemnation of terrorism everywhere.

38 Jordanian aid trucks enter Gaza amid ongoing humanitarian crisis

AMMAN — A Jordanian aid convoy comprising 38 trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Monday, carrying essential food supplies amid a worsening humanitarian crisis, according to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO). Dispatched under Royal directives, the convoy crossed through the King Hussein Bridge in coordination with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF). The operation forms part of Jordan's ongoing regional and international efforts to provide sustained humanitarian support to the people of Gaza, according to a JHCO statement. As of Monday, a total of 294 out of 452 aid trucks dispatched by Jordan over the past two weeks have entered Gaza, with the remainder delayed due to Israeli-imposed restrictions at border crossings, JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said in remarks to Al Mamlaka TV. Shibli said that Israeli authorities often cite the end of official working hours to delay aid entry, saying that 'the occupation is highly skilled at creating obstacles'. He added that some humanitarian items, including medical supplies and equipment, have been rejected, and that prolonged inspection and crossing procedures have extended convoy travel times to as much as 38 hours. Despite these challenges, the JHCO continues to ramp up the frequency of its aid convoys to ensure a steady flow of relief to the besieged enclave. Shibli reaffirmed Jordan's unwavering commitment to supporting Gaza, describing the ongoing aid operations as a vital lifeline for its population. The latest convoy reflects the strong coordination between Jordanian national institutions and international partners, particularly the WFP, in responding to humanitarian crises. It also highlights the key logistical and operational role played by the JAF, which continues to conduct airdrops as a complementary method of aid delivery.
