Lisa Kudrow says her Friends character Phoebe ‘was so far from who I am'
Speaking to US actress Parker Posey for Variety's Actors On Actors series, she said: 'It (the series) was fun the whole time, because we had fun, the cast had fun.
'It was like a collaboration with the writers, because they were so great and nice and good.
'But me being Phoebe was so far from who I was as a human being that it was work.
'I needed to justify everything she was saying in my head so that it felt like she meant it and it was real to her. It was a lot of work.
'And I remember like season two or three, and I was just doing it, and went, 'Oh my god, I'm not doing the work. I don't know if this is going as well. I'm not doing the work'.
'I was really fretting over it. And (Matt) LeBlanc went, 'What's the matter with you?'. I said, 'I'm not doing the work that I did. I used to like really work, and he said, 'You're her. You don't have to do it anymore'.'
Alongside her role in Friends, Kudrow is known for starring in a number of TV series as well as comedy films Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and The Opposite Of Sex.
In 2023 she thanked her late co-star Perry for 'the best 10 years a person gets to have' while filming Friends in a tribute following his death at the age of 54.
During their conversation, Posey, who has starred in films including Dazed And Confused and Superman Returns, spoke about one of her more recent roles playing a southern woman called Victoria Ratliff in season three of Mike White's dark comedy, The White Lotus.
She said: 'It was such a gift to have this middle-aged woman at this time in my life, in my career, to be the southern woman.
'I was reading Tennessee Williams in junior high and high school and southern writers and all of this. So I was like, I just ate it up.'

On Wednesday, Laura took to social media revealing she was en route to apprehend Courteney, revealing if her plan worked she would be half way to seeing the whole cast of the 90s sitcom. Laura had spotted Courteney's name on the line-up of a TV show and made her way to the studio, hoping to time it right so that she would catch the Scream star leaving the building. Unbelievably it all went to plan for Laura and despite having to 'leg it' five blocks after seeing a car she thought could be Courteney's chauffeur she made it with time to spare. A clip shared to Laura's socials sees the actress leaving the building with Laura seizing her chance and asking to get a picture with her. 'Sure!' Courteney said obligingly. Disney's live-action Hercules set to drop wildly unpopular plot twist
Legions of die-hard Disney fans were sent into a frenzy after rumors that the live-action remake of a 1997 classic would deviate significantly from the original story. Since it was first announced, the upcoming Hercules film has been plagued by fan fury over reports of modernising the iconic soundtrack through to a shift in who the protagonist will be. It was the latter of these that has ruffled feathers the most, with sibling producers the Russo Brothers reportedly at odds with Disney over the story's direction. The pair allegedly wanted to put villain Hades at the centre of the story, and tell it from his perspective instead of flame-haired Herc himself. Guy Ritchie has formally signed on to direct In a 2022 Variety interview , Joe Russo teased fans with news that their take on Hercules, with Guy Ritchie on board as director, would be "a little bit more experimental in tone, a little bit more experimental in execution," adding: "I think they're excited to see what we can all bring to it in a way that isn't just a reinterpretation of the animated film." He also shared that they would use TikTok as inspiration, telling the publication: 'Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like? That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical." However, irked fans can breathe a sigh of a relief as a recent Q&A with a Disney insider appeared to put rumors of a focus on Hades to bed once and for all.
