Victoria Beckham gets unexpected support from an unlikely ally amid family rift with eldest son Brooklyn

Daily Mail18-06-2025
Victoria Beckham has received unexpected support from an unlikely ally amid ongoing tensions within the family.
The fashion designer, 51, and her husband David, 50, are currently navigating a growing rift with their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his actress wife, Nicola Peltz, after the couple were notably absent from David's recent 50th birthday celebrations.
Now, following Brooklyn's Father's Day snub, Victoria has reportedly found backing from another high-profile matriarch - Yolanda Hadid, mother to supermodels Gigi and Bella.
Yolanda has reached out to Victoria after news broke of David's upcoming knighthood.
The gesture has raised eyebrows, as Yolanda is said to have had a strained relationship with Nicola during the actress' romance with Yolanda's son, Anwar Hadid.
Although Victoria and Yolanda aren't known to be close, the latter responded to the fashion designer's post about David receiving his knighthood with a public show of support last week.
The Mirror report that Yolanda posted a love heart on social media as Victoria gushed how David had 'always been my knight in shining armour…but now it's official.'
Gigi and Bella are no strangers to Victoria, as they walked her catwalk show for Paris Fashion Week in 2022.
Nicola previously dated their younger brother, Anwar, for 18 months before the pair split in 2018.
Despite speculation, sources close to Nicola insisted there is no bad blood between her and the Hadid family despite her unfollowing the family after their split.
It comes after David told his children 'I will always be there, no matter what' in an emotional Father's Day Instagram post on Sunday amid their ongoing family fallout.
He shared pictures of Victoria and their four children Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, laughing and looking cheery in happier times.
Subtly reaching out to his eldest son, David insisted he will always be around to support Brooklyn even if times get tough.
He wrote: 'My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad... I'm so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what...
'Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad... Happy Father's Day... I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.. @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven @tedbeckhamdavid'
Cruz responded to his father on the post, writing: 'You mean the world to us and inspire us every single day dad I love you'.
Victoria's Father's Day tribute to husband David was filled with nods to their son Brooklyn as she reached out to her eldest child.
Posh Spice - who became Lady Beckham as her husband led the King's Birthday Honours list - ensured Brooklyn was in the majority of the pictures in her post, despite the eldest failing to acknowledge his dad's knighthood this week.
But their was no sign of their bitter rift on Sunday, as she wrote: 'Happy Father's Day to the best daddy there is!
It comes after David told his children 'I will always be there, no matter what' in an emotional Father's Day Instagram post on Sunday amid their ongoing family fallout
'You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so so much!! @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven xxx'
The former England captain proudly led in the King's Birthday Honours list after being in the running for more than a decade.
Congratulating her husband, Victoria shared a loved-up photo to Instagram and wrote: 'You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir David!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you.
'Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered.
'The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday.'
She concluded: 'But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx'
David declared himself 'immensely proud' as he finally received a knighthood after years of being snubbed.
He said he 'never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour', as his Spice Girl wife Victoria also becomes Lady Beckham.
But while the family celebrated David's honour, the silence continued from Brooklyn who did not publicly post about his father's achievement.

Strictly star slams ‘manipulative' TV industry after quitting fame for OnlyFans – and reveals family member's jibe

A FORMER Strictly star has branded the TV industry as 'manipulative' after quitting fame for OnlyFans. John Whaite rose to fame after winning The Great British Bake Off in 2012. 4 4 The 36-year-old later competed on Strictly Come Dancing, finishing as runner-up behind Rose Ayling-Ellis. Speaking to Gay Times Magazine, John opened up about his experiences in the TV industry. The baker and presenter said: "I think the deeper conversation here is about welfare generally within the TV industry. I think that is still very much an elusive beast. "As soon as Strictly finishes, it's like, get out the hotel, get out the flat, go home, but that is a life- altering event for the individual who's been subject to the headlines, often at the hand of these shows, because these shows sometimes feed stories to the media. "TV is manipulative and it's a distortion of truth, there's always an ulterior motive. "People aren't being fed the unadulterated, objective truth. And I certainly don't subscribe to that." Continuing, John recounted how he was "around 23" during his time on Bake Off. He recalled thinking his "existence hinged on being successful in television." John added: "But I think when you go through all these different permutations of your life, you start to realise that the b******t just does not matter. "What actually matters is your health, your sanity, your loved ones, your family, be it biological or chosen." Elsewhere in the interview, John revealed a family member had called him "disgusting" due to his OnlyFans content. The Sun previously revealed how he made a return to the platform earlier this year. The star had been posting a series of very explicit videos and images for his legion of subscribers on the adult-only website. Sources close to the star – who was paired with Johannes Radebe on Strictly - said: 'John has been telling friends he feels really empowered by posting what he wants. 'He's in amazing shape and is proud of how far he has come. 'He's says it really has nothing to do with money and it's not about helping fund his bakery business. 'John doesn't care what anyone else thinks. "He's really happy with the content he is creating.' 4

Osteopath under fire for calling patient 'Nora Batty' after iconic housewife character from BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine

An osteopath has been sanctioned for referring to a patient as 'Nora Batty' during an appointment. The reference to the Last Of The Summer Wine character – known for her curlers and wrinkled stockings in the 1980s BBC sitcom – was deemed to be 'unacceptable professional conduct'. A disciplinary panel said the remark, made by Peter Rees, was 'pejorative' and 'inappropriate'. Mr Rees was also found guilty of manipulating the patient's spine despite the risk this posed because of her condition resulting in a fractured clavicle. A professional conduct committee of the General Osteopathic Council (OPC) found Mr Rees's actions to be a 'serious departure' from the standards required and admonished him. The panel heard that Mr Rees is self-employed at a clinic in Stourbridge, West Midlands, and has been working as an osteopath for 40 years. In March 2022, he was visited by a new client, referred to only as Patient A, for treatment of her lower back pain. 'During the first appointment on March 9, 2022, Mr Rees made a comment about Patient A, referring to her as 'Nora Batty', which was a pejorative reference to a fictional character from the TV series Last Of The Summer Wine and she felt he was not empathetic,' the panel said. Ms Batty, played by Kathy Staff on the world's longest-running sitcom, was famous for being the butt of many jokes and fighting off advances from Bill Owen's Compo Simmonite – often hitting him with her broom. Despite the remark, the woman gave Mr Rees the 'benefit of the doubt' and went back for a second appointment because she felt 'locked up'. The osteopath mobilised and manipulated her spine which resulted in a loud crack and Patient A 'crying out in pain'. She told him it was painful but he did not do anything then or when she mentioned it again while paying. Three days later, an X-ray at the hospital showed her right clavicle had been fractured. At the hearing, Mr Rees admitted unacceptable professional conduct, including that he had referred to her as Nora Batty and performed the spinal manipulation which was not 'clinically justified'. The hearing was told that since the complaint the osteopath has undertaken 'bespoke training' with a doctor to improve his practice. The panel found Mr Rees's behaviour was a 'serious departure' from the standards required, adding: 'The findings demonstrated [Mr Rees] had ignored or disregarded complaints of pain and had provided inappropriate treatment that resulted in harm to her.' However, it also concluded that this was single case in a long career and an admonishment was a sufficient sanction.

Gregg Wallace: I'm not a groper, sex pest or flasher

Former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has pledged to clear his name following his sacking from the BBC and said: 'I'm not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher.' The 60-year-old defended himself and described being grouped with sex offenders Jimmy Savile and Huw Edwards as 'horrific'. In his first interview with The Sun at his home in Kent, he said his aim in speaking out was not 'to play the victim'. Wallace lost his job following complaints from a number of women over the years. 'There's so much that I want to say, and so much that I want to put right, if I can,' he said. 'I'm not saying I'm not guilty of stuff, but so much has been perceived incorrectly. Things that really hurt me and hurt my family.' The former TV star, who did not take a fee for the interview, added: 'I'm not a groper. 'People think I've been taking my trousers down and exposing myself – I am not a flasher. 'People think I'm a sex pest. 'I am not. 'I am not sexist or a misogynist, or any of it. 'There never were any accusations of sexual harassment. 'I have seen myself written about in the same sentence as Jimmy Savile and Huw Edwards, paedophiles and sex offenders. 'That is just so, so horrific.' 'I don't expect any sympathy' Wallace, who is married to wife Anna and has a six-year-old son, Sid, said he was still learning about himself and had done so over the past eight months as he was diagnosed with autism back in January. 'I know I have said things that offended people, that weren't socially acceptable and perhaps they felt too intimidated or nervous to say anything at the time,' he said. 'I understand that now – and to anyone I have hurt, I am so sorry. 'I don't expect anyone to have any sympathy with me but I don't think I am a wrong 'un.' A total of 45 of 83 complaints have been upheld in the wake of a report into Wallace's behaviour by law firm Lewis Silkin. The complaints were made by 41 people and during the course of his career he worked with 4,000 people, who were cast, crew and production; 0.5 per cent of people had criticised him. But he admitted the figure was too high. He also lent his support to former MasterChef co-host John Torode and said: 'He's not a racist.'
