Who Is Charithra Chandran? The British-Indian Actor Stealing Spotlight At Wimbledon
Charithra Chandran, an Oxford graduate turned Netflix star, captivated the audience with her Bridgerton-style look for Wimbledon on Tuesday. The British-Indian actress left her fans reminiscing about her young character, Edwina Sharma, in Bridgerton season 2, courtesy of her Ralph Lauren dress and hairstyle. So much so that social media users claim that the diva has even stolen the spotlight from Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro at the tournament.
Charithra Chandran may have been spotted behind Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro at Wimbledon, but even the latter duo's viral PDA moment couldn't stop the Bridgerton star from redefining her elegance. Dressed in a crisp white shirt with a racing green cashmere sweater, a pair of luxe lambskin shorts and pristine Nappa pumps, the British-Indian actress captioned her post on TikTok, 'Edwina inspired hair for Wimbledon today with Ralph Lauren." She even shared the pictures on her Instagram handle, writing, 'Repping @wimbledon green with @ralphlauren Wouldn't be summer without it," which left fans reeling for her poise and charm.
A few others even tweeted how the 28-year-old actor outshined the other stars around her. Chandran, who attended the tournament as a Ralph Lauren ambassador, sat behind Hollywood actors Monica Barbaro and Andrew Garfield. Next to her were Julia Manstead and Poppy Delevingne on both sides.
One user said, 'Charithra Chandran serving face at Wimbledon."

Another mentioned, 'Charithra Chandran is so beautiful, I didn't even notice Andrew Garfield."
Who is Charithra Chandran?
Charithra Chandran was born to two Indian Tamil medical professionals in Perth, Scotland. Her parents separated when she was two, and she left for Tamil Nadu with her father, where she stayed with her grandparents. She returned to the UK at four and went to a school in Liverpool. Following this, she boarded at Moreton Hall Preparatory School in Suffolk from the sixth to the eleventh standard before settling down with her mother in Oxford whilst her father lived in Wales. At that time, she was extremely busy with her extracurricular activities, such as playing county-level hockey and netball, and performing in school plays.
Charithra Chandran's passion for acting
After completing her schooling at Oxford High School, Charithra pursued her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from New College, Oxford. She was part of several productions during university and also joined the National Youth Theatre. Following her graduation in 2019, Chandran even worked part-time for the New Policy Institute, but destiny had other plans.
Soon after the pandemic hit the world, and she found her parents getting extremely engulfed in the health crisis. This is when she began strategically emailing agents for Monday mornings, and finally, after two months, she was roped into a role in Amazon's Alex Rider.
Before the filming was even wrapped, the actress was cast as Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2, alongside Simone Ashley, who played her older sister Kathani, and this gave her significant stardom.
Following this, she has been part of diverse roles, cementing her versatile status in the industry. Last, she was seen in One Piece, a fantasy adventure television series, as Miss Wednesday, an agent of the mysterious Baroque Works organisation.
