Virgin and Qatar Airways flight attendant explains the gross act some customers do
The Australian man worked for both Virgin Australia and Qatar Airways, the latter regularly ranked as the world's best airline, shared his story on a podcast.
He recalled a particularly distressing flight to India while working for Qatar Airways, where passengers defecated on the bathroom floor.
'Dealing with really unhygienic people, oh my God,' he said.
'Some of them don't know how to use the western toilets so they just s*** on the floor.
'Why would you defecate on the f**** bathroom floor instead of using the f**** toilet to take a s***.'
'I remember specifically putting the s*** in the trash and I vomited because it was so foul.'
Many flight attendants responded on social media and said such incidents are not uncommon on certain routes.
'I'm a flight attendant and I promise you this happens more often than you think,' one person said.
'As an ex-Qatar Airways flight attendant, this happened way more often than you think,' another said.
'Perhaps during the safety instructions, how to use the bathroom should be explained,' a third said.
People may not know how to use toilets due to a variety of factors, including cultural differences, physical disabilities, or psychological factors.
In many parts of the world, access to toilets and proper sanitation is limited. This can lead to open defecation and a lack of familiarity with how to use modern toilets.
Cultural differences also play a role. Some communities have specific hygiene practices or beliefs that differ from Western norms, including how toilets are used and cleaned.
Additionally, some individuals may have a fear or discomfort around public toilet seats, leading them to avoid using them altogether.
Airplane toilets can be especially challenging for some passengers.
Their compact design, unfamiliar flushing mechanisms, and confined space can be intimidating - particularly for infrequent travelers or those with anxiety about public spaces.
Not all passengers are aware of proper toilet etiquette or how to operate the facilities. This includes locking the door, flushing correctly, and disposing of waste properly.
Passengers may not realise they're expected to clean up after themselves, or they may simply choose not to.

Billy Brownless stuns girlfriend with shock 'relationship question' during romantic anniversary getaway
Billy Brownless is continuing to enjoy his anniversary with girlfriend Crystle Fleur with a romantic getaway, despite trolls trying to rain on their parade. The AFL great, 58, and his blonde bombshell partner, 52, have been enjoying a romantic West Australian getaway in Monkey Mia. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the popular presenter shared a series of images from the trip, including one photo that showed the happy couple beaming as they soaked up the coastal surrounds. Another showed Billy sitting in the couple's hotel room, sporting a mock-serious expression while holding up a card from a card game. Possibly posing a question to Crystle, Billy's card read: 'If I came with a warning label, what would it be?' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Other images showed sunsets and some of the fauna that Billy and Crystle had encountered along the way. 'Day 1 and 2 of The Big Adventure!! 9 hr drive from Perth to Monkey Mia (I survived) dodged goats, kangaroos and emus,' Billy captioned his holiday snaps. 'Swam with Dolphins, turtles and Dugongs (ugly) and finished the evening with the relationship question, Crystle should have asked 12 months ago! The post was met with a flurry of comments from fans and followers, with many gushing over the obviously happy couple. 'Looking so happy, I'm so glad you found love. Beautiful couple,' one swooned, while another chimed in with a similar: 'Congratulations Billy and Crystle. What a great couple. Have a couple of frothies.' Others took the chance to throw some subtle shade at Billy for his photography skills. 'Stick to jokes Bill, photography not a strong point,' one quipped, while another offered: 'You take some of the photos with a potato, fat ? Come on.' It comes as trolls took aim at Billy as he marked his one-year anniversary with Crystle this week. Others took the chance to throw some subtle shade at Billy for his photography skills. Crystle took to Instagram on Sunday to celebrate their milestone anniversary with a sweet picture of the couple, which has received nearly 7,000 likes. However, many trolls poured into the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on the pairing, with some saying Billy is 'punching above his weight' with the mum-of-three, and that she's out of his league. 'Good to see you happy Bill, but still punching way above,' one person wrote. Another chimed in: 'Punching above your weight there, big man...' The romance between Billy and Crystle first became public knowledge in October last year. Since then, he and Crystle have been inseparable, seen enjoying outings across Melbourne. In February, the pair were spotted strolling hand-in-hand through South Yarra after a casual café date. A mother-of-three, Crystle's low-key style and successful career have captured Brownless' heart. One of Geelong's most popular players, Billy made his name with 198 AFL games and 441 goals. Post-retirement, he transitioned into a media career, starring on The Footy Show and radio's The Rush Hour. Billy's private life hit the headlines in 2016 when his friendship with Garry Lyon was rocked by scandal. The former best mates fell out after it emerged Lyon was in a relationship with his ex-wife, Nicky. The public split caused deep hurt for Billy, who spoke openly about his disappointment. However, in recent years, the pair have moved towards reconciliation. The families spent Christmas together and, in January, Billy and Garry appeared on air together for the first time in years. In a further sign of healing, Lyon attended the wedding of Billy's daughter, Ruby, in Noosa in March.

Couple has 'genius' cocktail-making hack to make economy flight feel 'like business class' - but not everyone is a fan
A flight attendant has shared a 'genius' trick for economy passengers to feel like they've been upgraded - and all it involves is bringing onboard a common item found in many kitchens. Natalia Corso, 28, from the U.S., is based in Dubai whilst working as cabin crew for Emirates, and regularly shares travel tips and lighthearted content about her role on Instagram. In a recent video uploaded to her page, @nataliacorso, she revealed a simple way to elevate the economy class experience, attaching an accompanying caption that reads: 'Romanticising economy. Manifesting that business class life.' Recording herself and her partner sitting in their seats with their table trays pulled down, the flight attendant produced a plastic cocktail mixing glass from her bag and a cup of ice that had she had previously requested from cabin crew. Pouring the ice into the mixer, she poured in one miniature (50ml) bottle each of Smirnoff Vodka, Tia Maria Coffee Liqueur, and Bailey's Irish Cream, before topping up with a measure of in-flight black coffee that she had allowed to cool down. Natalia poured out two servings in plastic martini glasses that she had brought on board, before brandishing a third glass and offering it to her neighbour in the aisle seat, who delightfully accepted the gesture. The video has since gone viral online, amassing over 1.7M views and over 5000 comments. Many viewers praised the handy hack and applauded the flight attendant's generosity, as one person wrote: 'Manifesting getting sat next to you guys on my next flight.' Another person said, 'I love it!! I am gonna try this on my trip this month,' while a second wrote, 'THATS GENIUS!!! The only economy class I would pay extra to fly in.' But not everyone was on board with Natalia's idea, as one person wrote: 'Alcohol should be illegal in planes.' Another said: 'And I'll be laughing next time when the flight attendants confiscate your alcohol away since you're breaking a federal law.' A third commented, 'If you're going to something like this obviously common sense would be to SAY (the alcohol on board) to NOT make it look like you're breaking transport rules!' In a follow-up comment, Natalia clarified that she had used miniature bottles offered on the flight by the airline. It comes as a flight attendant has revealed the secret trick she uses to 'punish' passengers who refuse to swap seats. Mitra Amirzadeh, an Orlando-based flight attendant, revealed she has her own secret method of dealing with difficult passengers. Many viewers on Instagram praised the handy hack and applauded the flight attendant's generosity - but not everybody was on board with the idea The cabin crew member claimed she doesn't always get involved in seat swapping dilemmas, but if it involves a child needing to sit with a parent she will step in. Mitra revealed that asking the passenger who is refusing to move seats, to look after the child, is a very quick way to get them to move seats fast. She told the The Wall Street Journal: 'I have said before, "OK, so you're going to watch the toddler? '"You'll want their snacks and their colouring books then, because they're going to need that".'
