The Toyota Innova Hycross has become the first MPV to receive a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP (BNCAP), the country's vehicle crash assessment programme. The Hycross also emerges as the safest three-row model tested under BNCAP to date, making it a safe choice in the MPV segment.Tested across both strong hybrid and non-hybrid variants, the Innova Hycross achieved 30.47 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant safety. advertisementIn adult occupant protection, the Hycross earned high marks in both frontal and side crash tests. It scored 14.147 out of 16 in the frontal offset barrier test, with good protection to the head, pelvis, and legs, though the chest protection and the driver's lower left leg were rated as 'adequate'. In the side impact tests, the vehicle scored a perfect 16 out of 16, indicating excellent resistance to deformation and effective impact absorption.
For child safety, the Hycross impressed with full marks in dynamic testing (24/24), simulating the protection levels for 18-month and 3-year-old child dummies and 12/12 for CRS (Child Restraint System) installation. It dropped minimal points in the vehicle compatibility assessment, scoring 9 out of 13, still reflecting a strong overall result.The MPV comes equipped with a comprehensive list of safety features as standard, including six airbags, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), ABS, hill-start assist, and seatbelt reminders for all three rows. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced its sales performance for the month of June, 2025. The brand recorded sales of 28,869 units in June 2025, including 26,453 in the domestic market, and 2416 units exported. which previously stood at 27,474 units in June 2024. Thus, witnessing a 5 percent YoY growth in the month. Also, Toyota recorded sales and exports of 1,74,885 units during H1 2025 (January-June 2025), which previously stood at 1,50,250 units in H1 2024, witnessing a 16 percent growth this year.
