37-year-old woman in Wisconsin dead after being caught between crossfire, police seeking suspects
According to the Racine Police Department, officers responded to the shots fired report around 12:35 a.m. in the 1200 block of Eleventh Street. Responding calls came in while officers were en route, reporting that a woman had been shot at the scene.

DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – Brown County officials are apologizing to residents after an emergency alert was sent to people outside of the warning area on Wednesday morning. Brown County Emergency Management posted the apology about six minutes after the initial alert rang out on phones across the county at 10:02 a.m., stating the situation at . 'We apologize for the unintended message if you received it.' An initial alert was issued to a small area; however, officials realized that people far outside the area had been alerted and a cancellation was sent. The situation at Scray Hill Park had quickly been resolved after the initial message, and then an all-call went out to ensure the area was safe. Those who got an incorrect alert were reportedly informed as well. Officials say that they are working with the federal partners that own the alert system to find out what caused the accidental overspray. Court records show that Michael Putala was in court while in custody, along with his attorney, as he was sentenced to five years in prison and seven years of extended supervision.
