
Man hangs self, suicide note names 4
The deceased man, identified as Dushyant Pandey (35), a resident of Devashish City under Borekheda police station, left an eight-page suicide note. In the note, he alleged that four persons - Narendra Nagar, Ravi Tiwari of Kota, and Shankar Rai, Rambhagat of Lakheri town in Bundi district, tortured him for money. He held them responsible for his extreme step.
According to the police, the deceased was employed in private sector and lived with his elderly parents and sisters in Kota.
He retired to his room Thursday noon and did not come out at night.
Upon finding the room door bolted from inside and receiving no response, Dushyant's father informed the police Friday morning. The police broke open the door, and found Dushyant hanging from the ceiling fan, circle inspector at Borekheda police station, Devesh Bhardwaj, said. The police also recovered an eight-page suicide note. Initial inquiry suggests the deceased was facing a financial crisis and had court cases over cheque dishonour, the officer said.
The police lodged a case under section 194 of BNS.

The doctor added that after this, Pathak started beating him. Subsequently, Pathak broke a glass and, by placing its edge on the doctor's neck, threatened to send the pictures to acquaintances and relatives if he didn't pay. Between July 20 and 21, the accused ensured the transfer of a total amount of Rs eight lakh to different accounts through UPI and account transfers. During the initial police investigation into UPI transactions, his name appeared as Roshan Kumar Pathak, while transfers made through WhatsApp showed his name as Aarav Pandey.

Six, including couple, held for performing illegal abortions in Cuddalore
The Cuddalore New Town police have arrested six persons, including a couple, for allegedly carrying out illegal abortions at Pudupalayam in Cuddalore, on Tuesday (July 22, 2025). The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by Health Department officials. The arrested persons were identified as Sivagurunathan, 55, his wife Uma Maheshwari, 40, Moorthy, 37, Veeramani, 36, Abiyas, 50, and Thangam, 43. The police said Sivagurunathan and Uma Maheshwari ran a vocational training institute at Pudupalayam. The duo claimed they were doctors and illegally used pregnancy abortion kits. Sivagurunathan had studied Agriculture, while his wife had studied nursing. Following a complaint, the police team raided the institute and seized surgical instruments and pills, including those used for abortion. The institute's registration had also not been renewed for the past three years, and it had been functioning illegally. A case was registered against the accused under Sections 61 (2) and 318 (2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Section 34 of the National Medical Commission Act. The accused were produced before a local court and remanded to custody.
