Music icon Shania Twain on Calgary Flames goalie Dustin Wolf: ‘He's the cutest!'
In a post on social media site X on Monday, Twain was singing a much different tune about Calgary Flames rising-star goaltender Dustin Wolf.
A person shared a photo of Wolf at the Calgary Stampede chuckwagon races in a 'Let's Go Girls' shirt, a reference to a line from another of Twain's chart-topping hits, and the Canadian country-music icon replied: 'He's the cutest!' She even added a heart-eyes emoji.
Not surprisingly, that post is racking up likes online.
Among the replies, one fan wrote: 'A freakin' great goalie as well!!! #Flames'
Wolf was the runner-up this past season for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year and nearly backstopped the Flames to a surprise playoff berth.
The 24-year-old netminder has been hanging around the city for most of the off-season and seemingly was swept up in the excitement of the Calgary Stampede, spotted at both the rodeo and chuckwagon races.
Twain was the Stampede parade marshal this year, something that the 59-year-old from Timmins, Ont., described as 'a dream of mine for a very long time.'
She also played a concert last Saturday at the Scotiabank Saddledome, where Wolf shines in the goal crease through the winter months.

Reese Witherspoon flaunts summer romance with her man during sun-soaked getaway
Reese Witherspoon is heating things up on her sun-kissed getaway with financier boyfriend Oliver Haarmann. The Oscar-winning actress, 49, and the wealthy NHL investor, 57, were spotted cozying up aboard a luxury yacht in the French Riviera. The couple packed on the PDA, as they shared laughs by the water in Saint-Tropez. Witherspoon flaunted a cheeky white one-piece swimsuit, while Haarmann kept it casual in patterned swim trunks. The pair looked head-over-heels as they kissed, cuddled and snorkeled their way through the Mediterranean aboard a luxury vessel. Witherspoon was spotted enjoying water activities with her beau as she wore pink snorkel goggles during their lavish holiday. The "Legally Blonde" star wrapped her arms around Haarmann as he placed his hand on her thigh while they enjoyed their day by the water. She was all smiles as she gazed into her boyfriend's eyes and was seen laughing throughout her yacht trip. The two took turns diving into the water and appeared to take breaks to lock lips. In several photos during their sun-soaked getaway, Haarmann was seen rinsing Witherspoon's backside with a hose, before they enjoyed the views aboard the top of the yacht. Last September, the couple were seen taking their relationship to the next level as they were seen gallivanting throughout New York City. Witherspoon and Haarmann dined at L'Artusi in the Big Apple in July. The couple flew into New York City the day before via helicopter. Their romance sparked after Witherspoon and ex Jim Toth announced their divorce after almost 12 years of marriage in March 2023. The former couple share son Tennessee, 12. Witherspoon was previously married to Ryan Phillippe, and they have a daughter Ava, 25, and son Deacon, 21. Haarmann was previously married to Mala Gaonkar, and they have two children together. According to People, Gaonkar is a financier herself and launched her own hedge fund, SurgoCap Partners, in 2022.

Michigan-Based Universities Dominating Junior Hockey Transfers
High-end draft picks Porter Martone, Malcolm Spence join growing list of junior talent joining Michigan-based universities. The junior hockey landscape has been completely flipped on it's head as of late as the Canadian Hockey League, Comprised of leagues from Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada have changed their rules as naming their players professionals and not allowing them to attend NCAA schools. This was changed this past August and players are taking advantage. Universities all over are tripping over themselves trying to land the top junior talent in the sport and lure them to their school. These teams have far better facilities, money-making opportunities with Name, Image and Likeness Deals as well as bigger and more mature talent than the CHL. The biggest draw for the NCAA is the American college experience that many players would be interested in experiencing rather than staying with a billet family in rural Canada. The biggest story out of the shifting junior hockey world was 2026 top NHL prospect Gavin McKenna leaving the WHL and committing to joining Penn State. Besides losing out on McKenna, Michigan-based universities are dominating this process. The University of Michigan and Michigan State have lead the way in terms of new transfers with top talents like Malcolm Spence and Jack Ivankovic joining the Wolverines while top draft picks Porter Martone and Cayden Lindstrom both agreed to play for the Spartans. The NCAA National Ice Hockey Championship was just won by Western Michigan, who has become a mainstay in the picture for a national title. The recent adds by the other Michigan-based schools will certainly close the gap and make NCAA hockey far more competitive than ever before especially in the state of Michigan. Bookmark The Hockey News Detroit Red Wings team site to stay connected to the latest news, game-day coverage, and player features. Spence was drafted 43rd overall in the second round during this year's draft and is coming off three stellar seasons with the Erie Otters. The Mississauga native put up 177 points through 195 games and will be a instant sparkplug for the Wolverines offence. They'll also get a reliable backstop with Ivankovic, who was drafted with the 58th overall pick in the second round by the Nashville Predators. After two season with the Mississauga/Brampton Steelheads, the 18-year-old posted a 39-17-9 record with a 2.93 goals against average and a .903 save percentage. He played with Team Canada on several occasions and will be an instant difference maker for Michigan. State got the higher end names however with Martone, who was projected to go as high as second overall in this year's draft but was ultimately selected sixth overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. Many expected his move to be to Penn State as they are also making splash adds but the 98-point producer last season instead chose the Spartans. Martone's 191 points through 149 games with the Steelheads make him a blockbuster add. The Spartans didn't stop their as they also added the fourth overall pick in last year's draft with Lindstrom. The BC native will be joining Martone after recording 88 points, including 46 goals and 42 assists, through 102 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Lindstrom was sidelined for all of last season with an injury but returned for the playoffs and averaged a point-per-game through four playoff games. Both schools made adds that could immediately make them national title contenders and more junior players are transferring in and out all the time. We could still see more players opt to committing with Michigan schools and could make the state a future force to be reckoned with in the collegiate hockey scene. How the Most Notorious Rolling Stones Tour Was Nearly Derailed by the 'World's Dumbest Bomber' 53 Years Ago Today
How the Most Notorious Rolling Stones Tour Was Nearly Derailed by the 'World's Dumbest Bomber' 53 Years Ago Today originally appeared on Parade. When the Rolling Stones set out on their infamous 1972 tour, they already knew a thing or two about how wild life on the road could get (with their notorious 1969 concert at Altamont Speedway featuring security by the Hells Angels and a fatal stabbing being the most obvious example). Still, they were hardly prepared for just how eventful the chaotic trek across North America would turn out to be — with a stop in Montreal proving to be particularly explosive (pun intended). On the morning of July 17, 1972 — with the Stones scheduled to play Montreal Forum later that evening — someone detonated dynamite under one of the band's equipment trucks. While the perpetrator was never identified, the Stones' press agent later referred to the individual as the "world's dumbest bomber," per Ultimate Classic Rock. Speaking about the incident at the time, Mick Jagger wondered, "Why didn't the cat leave a note?" Thankfully, no one was hurt in the blast (the only damage was to the equipment and some nearby windows), but the bombing prompted an investigation from authorities which delayed the show — further angering a rowdy crowd of fans who ended up rioting over the discovery that hundreds of counterfeit tickets had been sold. During the show, Jagger was hit in the leg by a 40-ounce bottle thrown from the audience. "Not good," he was quoted as saying after the performance. "It wasn't good." As People reported, both Jagger and drummer Charlie Watts opened up about the frightening experience later, with Watts admitting he was "worried" about getting "blown up." 'I was frightened for everybody that some motherf---er put a bomb in the hall in the middle of the show, and some kids were gonna get hurt," Jagger the Most Notorious Rolling Stones Tour Was Nearly Derailed by the 'World's Dumbest Bomber' 53 Years Ago Today first appeared on Parade on Jul 17, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jul 17, 2025, where it first appeared.
