Showjumper accuses underage girl of faking messages about ‘threesome he had with her and 26-year-old horse rider'

A SHOWJUMPER today accused an underage girl of faking messages about an alleged threesome he made her have with him and a horse rider.
Guy Simmonds, 37, and Lauren Jarvis, 26, are accused of targeting the girl despite knowing she was under 16.

Equestrian boss Simmonds called himself "daddy" in messages to the youngster and would abuse her while his girlfriend was away, jurors heard.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that in January 2024, he messaged fellow rider Jarvis to organise a threesome at her home - asking when he should "pop over".
Simmonds then allegedly text the girl to inform her of the plan, telling her: "You will both do what daddy says."
The girl told the court Simmonds got her and Jarvis to "do stuff" with each other before he had sex with both of them.
He today claimed the girl had lied about the encounter and accused her of creating bogus WhatsApp conversations after he rejected her.
Simmonds suggested to jurors she may have used a "pranking' app to create the messages or even messaged herself from another device while using his name.
He added: 'I believe the messages to be fake.'
Jurors heard previously Simmonds messaged Jarvis after the alleged threesome to say: "You both loved that haha".
Jarvis then replied: "Yeah, you missed round two" with a wink emoji.
They later hatched a "pact of silence" when they got wind that the girl was talking about the alleged threesome, the court heard.
Simmonds text Jarvis, saying: "Hey, I have a feeling that [name of alleged victim] has said about us.
"If anyone asks for sake of both of us nothing ever happened that night xx."
Jarvis replied: "Hey, who's she told? Oh god has she really, what's she trying to do, make our lives hell? Of course I will xx."
The messages also showed Simmonds messaged Jarvis before the encounter, saying: "I don't want to turn up at the same time that her mum drops her off."
But he claimed today he only sent the text as he was "cheating" and knew the girl and her mum knew his partner.
Simmonds also told the court the girl had previously made him and his partner feel 'uncomfortable' by using 'inappropriate' language about sex.
He said: 'There were rumours that she was telling people that I had been trying it on with her. I was worried.
'The horse world is very small. I wanted to keep my reputation. She was a very volatile person.'
Simmonds ran a riding school that offered "showjumping horse production and sales, coaching and schooling" in the village of Undy in Wales.
He added the girl on Facebook and told her "thanks for accepting" before being told her age, it is said.
The experienced showjumper would allegedly regularly take the girl into a horsebox to sexually abuse her while they were alone at the stables.
Jurors heard that at one point, this was happening every couple of days when Simmonds' girlfriend was away.
The alarm was raised when the girl told her dad what had allegedly happened and he alerted police.
In her police interview, the girl said she felt she could not just walk away because she was scared Simmonds would "hurt me".
She added: "I wasn't smiling and stuff when this was going on. If you looked at my face you could tell there was fear."
The girl claimed there was one occasion where Simmonds took out his phone and allegedly began filming her.
She told police he had a "little smirk on his face", the court heard.
Simmonds later dumped his mobile in a bin at a Tesco just days before he was arrested for alleged sexual contact with a child.
He denied he was attempting to destroy evidence - and claimed the phone was broken when he was quizzed by police.
The court heard he also burned or threw away a mattress from his horse box where he is accused of repeatedly having sex with the victim.
Simmonds told police he did not have any form of sexual contact with the victim.
He also claimed any messages about a threesome were "banter and a wind up."
Simmonds denies six counts of sexual activity with a child, while Jarvis has pleaded not guilty to one charge of sexual activity with a child.
The trial continues.

David Graham taken from fife council website But the demonstration sparked a major police response when people gathered outside what's believed to be a house linked to Graham, who is on bail ahead of sentencing. Officers rushed to the scene around 4.40pm after the alarm was raised and some yobs allegedly targeted them with missiles including eggs and stones. Footage emerged from the protest showing a line of uniformed cops trying to quell an angry crowd where children were present. One man held cardboard signs reading 'No place 4 a beast' and 'toot toot paedo out'. It's believed Graham was hurried into a police van while being escorted by officers holding riot shields. Officers arrested and charged three men, aged 22, 38 and 47, over alleged disorder. The 38-year-old man was also charged over an alleged assault. They have been released and are expected to appear at court at a later date. A 36-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl have been charged over allegedly vandalising property. Graham was found guilty last month of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. Body of man murdered after he was wrongly identified as paedo lay undiscovered for weeks despite tip-offs to cops The offences took place in the Labour councillor's home, office and car over more than six months. In August 2023, we revealed that he had been arrested and suspended by the party. Chief Superintendent Derek McEwan said: "Violence towards officers while carrying out their duties will not be tolerated and the behaviour they faced last night was unacceptable. "Police officers are also members of the community and it is fortunate someone was not seriously injured. "We understand there are strong feelings in the local area but that is no excuse for violence or disorder. We are particularly concerned with the number of children present last night. "Officers continue to carry out enquiries, including reviewing video footage of the event to identify those who were involved. "There was a protest at the same property on Friday, 1 August, 2025 and officers are also carrying out enquiries in relation to this incident. "My message is that anyone taking part in disorder, or inciting or encouraging others to be involved, should expect to be identified and charged accordingly." 4 A crowd of between 80 and 100 people gathered outside a property on Pirnie Street, Methilhill Credit: Facebook

Teen jailed over Bonfire Night riots that terrorised Edinburgh communities

A 17-year-old has been locked up for 18 months after launching fireworks at police, targeting a petrol station, and terrorising residents during large-scale riots in Edinburgh last Bonfire Night. A teenager who took part in large-scale public disorder across Edinburgh during bonfire night last has been jailed for 18 months. ‌ The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, August 4, after pleading guilty to charges of mobbing and rioting, as well as culpable and reckless conduct. His crimes were linked to two separate incidents in the city in October and November last year. ‌ Chaos unfolded in Calder Road and Sighthill Court on November 5 when the teen joined a group who launched a sustained and violent attack on police officers, threw fireworks near a petrol station, and caused extensive damage to property. ‌ Buses were forced to withdraw from the area, and residents were left too frightened to leave their homes as the riot continued for more than two hours. CCTV footage showed the youth throwing fireworks and rocks at officers, setting fire to bins and street furniture, and aiming pyrotechnics at parked cars and members of the public. The attack resulted in thousands of pounds' worth of damage to a local car dealership, while a nearby fire station was also targeted. The teenager also admitted involvement in a separate incident on October 5 on Princes Street and South St Andrews Street, where around 50 young people were seen setting off fireworks at pedestrians, into the road, and at buildings. ‌ During the hour-long disturbance, he was observed handing fireworks to others and actively participating in the violence. Members of the public were left cowering to protect themselves. At one point, a firework exploded beneath a police vehicle. The youth had been remanded in custody since his arrest and has already served eight months in detention. ‌ Both offences were aggravated by the use of pyrotechnics against emergency workers and by the fact that the teen was on bail at the time. Chief Superintendent David Robertson, Divisional Commander for Edinburgh, said: : 'The scenes we witnessed in Calder Road, along with other areas of the city, last Bonfire Night were wholly unacceptable and resulted in a local car dealership having thousands of pounds worth of damage inflicted upon their vehicles, while our colleagues at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also had their station in the area targeted. 'His prison sentence is a welcome outcome and should once again highlight the joint commitment of both Police Scotland and COPFS to ensure those responsible for these crimes are brought to justice for their dangerous and unacceptable actions." Neil Almond, interim Procurator Fiscal for Lothian and Borders, condemned the teenager's actions: 'In the incident on November 5, 2024, significant damage was caused to property, running into thousands of pounds. ‌ 'Setting off fireworks in the direction of the petrol station forecourt was an act so dangerous it could have caused petrol pumps to ignite, putting staff and members of the public at risk of serious injury or worse. 'Our message to young people who carry out this type of offending is that having a criminal record will seriously impact your life. 'They should fully understand that a conviction may affect their liberty and their ability to lead a normal, unrestricted life. A total of 61 people were reported by Police Scotland for incidents related to public disorder in the weeks around Bonfire Night last year, most of them from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
