Tolls are increasing on Delaware highways in August. So are some DMV fees in October

Yahoo3 days ago
Starting in August, it will cost more to drive on Delaware's busiest highways.
The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced toll hikes, along with increases in Division of Motor Vehicles fees.
The new tolls would apply to I-95, Route 301 and Route 1, some of the most traveled corridors of the First State. The toll hikes are projected to bring in $107 million annually in additional revenue, DelDOT said, to support infrastructure projects statewide.
The toll increases for specific vehicles with trailers and specific exits on U.S. 301 can be found on the DelDOT website.
Now you know: Why are white numbers painted on I-95 lanes in Delaware? We have the answer
The changes will be felt starting on Aug. 15. The tolls will increase as follows:
I-95 toll plaza near Newark: For those paying in cash or with E-Z Pass for two-axle vehicles, the toll will increase from $4 to $5.
Route 301 mainline: E-Z Pass customers with a standard two-axle car will pay $5, a $1 increase, and customers who pay by plate will pay $7, an increase of $1.60.
Route 1 tolls at Biddles Corner and Dover will increase to $1.50 for Delaware E-Z Pass customers and $2.50 for cash and non-Delaware E-Z Pass customers on weekdays. On weekends, rates for Delaware E-Z Pass customers jump to $4 and $6 for cash and non-Delaware E-Z Pass customers.
DMV fees will increase on Oct. 1. There will be a 1% increase in document fees for vehicle transactions and a new "annual alternative fuel vehicle registration fee," which is applicable to 48,000 vehicles in Delaware, DelDOT said. That fee will vary from $15 to $900, depending on the size, alternative fuel and plug-in style of the vehicle.
A name change on a driver's license will go from $1.15 to $10, and a specialty plate request will be $200, among other charges that DelDOT will begin implementing later this year.

Kraken Launches US Regulated Derivatives Offering, Creating Unified Access to Futures and Crypto Spot Markets

CHEYENNE, Wyo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kraken, a technology platform built on crypto that unlocks access and reduces inefficiencies to drive financial freedom, today announced the launch of Kraken Derivatives US, a regulated US derivatives offering. The launch will initially provide direct access to crypto futures listed on the CME through an integrated Kraken Pro trading experience. Kraken Derivatives US enables clients to trade a full suite of crypto futures alongside Kraken's extensive spot market offering. With instant funding enabling seamless transfer of collateral, the integration gives clients a unified interface to deploy advanced strategies and manage risk efficiently, all from within a regulated environment backed by Kraken's leading infrastructure. 'With this launch, Kraken clients in the US can now trade futures alongside one of the world's most liquid cryptocurrency spot markets,' said Shannon Kurtas, Head of Exchange at Kraken. 'It's a meaningful step in giving traders broad market access and increased capital efficiency within a regulated and high performance environment.' Kurtas continued: 'Kraken Derivatives US further enriches our unified trading experience, where digital and traditional assets can be accessed side-by-side without compromising on features, performance or liquidity.' Today's launch represents Kraken's first significant milestone since acquiring NinjaTrader, a leading U.S. retail futures platform, earlier this year. Through NinjaTrader, Kraken will broaden its derivatives offering to include a wider array of asset classes, with plans to introduce commodity, fixed income, FX, and equity futures later this year. This expansion advances Kraken's strategy to build a comprehensive, multi-asset trading platform: further reinforcing its role as a unified venue for both digital and traditional asset classes. 'NinjaTrader is proud to power Kraken's push into US exchange-based derivatives, democratizing sophisticated trading products and connecting more participants to the world's leading trading venues,' said Martin Franchi, CEO of NinjaTrader. 'This collaboration marks a pivotal first step in accelerating our combined mission to expand global access to these essential products and markets." In April, Kraken introduced commission-free equities trading in the US, offering access to more than 11,000 stocks and ETFs with 24/5 availability. Kraken has also launched trading for tokenized equities, powered by Backed's xStocks, with phased rollouts beginning last week for eligible non-US clients. CFD Companies' Support of Social Media Marketing Validated by Adviser Appearance at Jolt! Conference

KOKOMO, Ind., July 15, 2025 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — CFD Companies' efforts to support adviser marketing were validated recently when CFD affiliated financial adviser Rachael Camp was a featured panelist at the 2025 Jolt! Conference. Social media marketing remains prohibited at many financial services firms, but CFD has calculated that the extra regulatory burdens are a part of providing exceptional service to CFD affiliated financial professionals. 'There is significant effort by the home office to maintain an environment where our financial professionals can leverage modern marketing without stepping out of line. It's not easy, but we never want to be a reason why our advisers and professionals struggle to grow their business,' said Brent Owens, President of CFD Companies. The Jolt! Conference is a three-day event hosted by marketing firm Snappy Kraken. As a featured panelist, Ms. Camp shared her experiences using digital tools to foster connections and business growth. The success she has achieved in just three to four years on the platform X (formerly Twitter) is remarkable. Reflecting on her relationship with CFD, Ms. Camp said, 'The encouraging thing to me is that it's clear that CFD wants to be a partner in my growth, both professionally and personally. I'm sure I could ask for things where the answer might be 'no,' but my experience has generally been, 'Well that's interesting, let's look at the regulation and figure this out.'' Camp will also be taking the main stage at CFD Companies' annual fall conference this September. The conference is expected to draw over 250 financial advisers who wish to foster growth and innovation. It is also open to non-CFD advisors who are serious about practice growth. It will take place in CFD's home office auditorium. There is no charge for financial advisers to attend, but space is limited. About CFD Companies CFD Companies is home to a fully independent Broker/Dealer and RIA that believes individuals are best served by a financial professional who possesses the freedom to implement personalized planning and investment strategies. The CFD Companies operate on the premise that an adviser's Broker/Dealer and RIA should act as a partner and resource network, empowering adviser-client relationships through trust, innovative support and a shared commitment to mutual growth.
