Indicating that Indian players' poor fielding was evident during this year's Indian Premier League, Haddin said the catching had left a lot to be desired during the two-month-long T20 tournament. "In the IPL this year, the catching was horrible. Yes, we talk about talented bowlers, batsmen, but it was the catching that was a real problem." He said that there was nothing stopping India from becoming the best fielding side in the world given the kind of talent they had. "And the one thing I'd say to India, is find a way to be the best fielding team in the world because you've got the talent everywhere else," he said. India will hope to overcome their shortcoming and level the series when the second Test gets underway in Birmingham on July 2.

The report quoted sources as saying that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Office has sought a report from the Circle Officer of Indirapuram in this matter. The police have been given time till July 21 to resolve the matter. The woman has also lodged a complaint on the women's helpline on June 14, 2025. In the FIR lodged by the woman, she has stated that she was in a relationship with Yash Dayal for five years and the cricketer has been mentally and physically abusing her since then. The statement also states that the fast bowler also took money from her during this period and he has done this with many women. The woman said that she has proof of screenshots, video calls and photos apart from the chats between the two. The statement reads, "The complainant has been in a relationship with the cricketer for the last five years. The cricketer exploited the woman emotionally, mentally and physically by promising to marry her. The cricketer introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made the woman trust the cricketer. When the complainant realised the deception and protested against it, she was beaten and mentally tortured. During the relationship, the complainant was also harassed financially and emotionally." It further reads, "Later it was found out that this person was in a similar wrong relationship with other girls. On 14 June 2025, a complaint was lodged on the women's helpline by calling 181, but the action could not proceed further at the police station." Yash Dayal is the same player on whose ball Rinku Singh hit five sixes in five balls in the last over of the IPL match and gave Kolkata Knight Riders a win. Yash used to play for Gujarat Titans then and later joined RCB.
