Versa's fixed rate campaign offers 4.2pct yearly returns, flexible withdrawals
Versa, a digital wealth platform regulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia, has launched its 'Fixed Rate Quests' campaign, offering guaranteed returns of up to 4.2 per cent* per annum on selected products.
Running until Jan 31, 2026, the campaign invites investors to unlock these rates by topping up fresh funds into either Versa Cash or Versa Cash-i, both of which are powered by low-risk money market funds managed by AHAM Asset Management Bhd.
With this campaign, investors stand to earn up to 4.2 per cent per annum in Versa Cash*, which is powered by the AHAM Enhanced Deposit Fund.
Those who prefer a Syariah-compliant option can opt for Versa Cash-i*, which offers up to 3.9 per cent per annum through the AHAM Aiiman Enhanced i-Profit Fund.
The fixed rate applies to fresh fund cash-ins of up to RM300,000 and is calculated on an almost daily prorated basis during the campaign period.
RETURNS WITH NO FIXED LOCK-IN
Versa chief executive officer Teoh Wei-Xiang described the campaign as a smart alternative to traditional Fixed Deposits, noting that unlike conventional options, Fixed Rate Quests allow users to withdraw their funds at any time without losing their base returns.
"You'll enjoy guaranteed returns but with the flexibility to access your funds when you need them.
"Even if you cash out early, your money still earns Versa's usual competitive base nett returns," he said.
For context, the base nett return for Versa Cash in May this year was 3.89 per cent** per annum, while Versa Cash-i delivered 3.54 per cent** per annum.
Any top-ups made during the holding period that meet the campaign requirements will also reactivate the fixed rate on a prorated basis, offering further flexibility to users who may need to dip into their savings.
TWO PHASES, SIMPLE RULES
The campaign is structured into two clear phases:
Qualifying period (1 to 31 July, 2025): Top up fresh funds to unlock your fixed rate. Simply cash in a required minimum amount of RM2,000 into your Versa Cash account, or a required minimum amount of RM1,000 into your Versa Cash-i account.
Phase 2 (Aug 1 to Jan 31, 2026): To continue earning the fixed rate, users must maintain their cumulative nett cash-in at or above the qualifying threshold.
Funds are accessible at any time, and campaign rewards will be credited to user accounts by the end of Feb 2026.
With over 300,000 users and more than RM1.2 billion in transactions to date, Versa continues to attract Malaysians looking for safer, low-entry-point investment options that don't compromise on returns or convenience.

Airbus to sell more A330neo jets to Malaysia Airlines, sources say — Reuters
PARIS: Europe's Airbus is close to winning an order from Malaysia Aviation Group for more A330neo long-haul jets, industry sources said on Wednesday. The parent of flag carrier Malaysia Airlines could announce the deal during a visit to Paris by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim later this week, they said. None of the companies immediately responded to requests for comment. MAG Managing Director Datuk Capt Izham Ismail told the New Straits Times last month that the group was evaluating the possibility of exercising options for 20 A330neos, to be followed by a competition between planemakers to add larger Airbus A350s, Boeing 787s or Boeing 777X jets. In 2022, MAG ordered 20 A330neos and took out options for another 20. - Reuters

Retail participation slumps in June as trading value drops 17pct
KUALA LUMPUR: Retail participation in the Malaysian equity market weakened sharply in June, as investors retreated from several key sectors and reduced overall trading activity. According to CIMB Securities, the average daily trading value by local retail investors fell 17.3 per cent month-on-month, the steepest decline among all investor categories. This led to the group's market participation share dropping to 16 per cent, down one percentage point from May, the firm said in its June 2025 monthly wrap note. "Local retail investors remained net sellers for the third straight month in June, with their net sell value rising 2.7 times month-on-month to RM393 million," it said. It added the largest net outflow was seen in the utilities sector, where retail investors sold RM313.8 million worth of shares, their fifth consecutive month of exits from the segment. In contrast, institutional and foreign investors were net buyers in utilities and selected other sectors, reflecting a divergence in investor strategies amid heightened policy and earnings uncertainty. Overall, retail investors' net position for the first half of 2025 remained in positive territory at RM1.65 billion, but the trend suggests retail sentiment may be turning more cautious.
