The Globe's Top 20 girls' tennis poll:
With a perfect 9-0 record to open the season, defending Division 1 champion Wellesley takes the top spot in the season debut of the Globe Top 20 girls' tennis 20 rankings.
At No. 2 is Newton South, the reigning Division 1 semifinalist which has already notched 3-2 victories over No. 3 Boston Latin and No. 10 Acton-Boxborough in Dual County League play.
The Middlesex League is shaping up to be a two-way battle between No. 4 Winchester and No. 5 Lexington, both of whom are undefeated and were tied 2-2 in their head-to-head matchup before the deciding match was postponed due to darkness.

No. 6 Westford has also gotten off to a fast start, highlighted by a 3-2 triumph over No. 8 Bishop Feehan.
