Mukesh Khanna calls Mahabharat co-stars ‘chhichhoras', says Ravi Chopra once said ‘a real man is someone who has affairs'
Appearing on the VTV Gujarat YouTube channel, he said that Indian culture is being eroded. Speaking about adultery and a lack of commitment in relationships, he continued, 'I am more comfortable with my work than with affairs. I still remember something that Ravi Chopra said… I laugh about it, I'm not bothered by it… The entire cast of Mahabharat, forgive me, was filled with 'chhichhoras'. Arjun, Duryodhan, you name them… I was the odd one out. Ravi Chopra would say, 'The man who has the most affairs is a real man'. The number of affairs you have doesn't define you as a man. A real man is someone who takes care of his family.'

He said that the team behind the show gradually understood that he wasn't going to align with their views. He continued, 'A Gujarati actress who worked on Mahabharat was once asked about her co-stars, and she said, 'Mukesh Khanna is a prince among frogs'.'
He was then asked about the final day of filming, when the cast broke down in tears and hugged each other. Behind-the-scenes visuals from set have been circulated online. Mukesh Khanna mocked actors Nitish Bharadwaj and Firoz Khan for weeping on set, and said, 'You can see in the video as well that I am keeping my distance. They were crying and wiping each other's tears, but I was amused. My shoot had ended a little earlier…' But he admitted that everyone was emotional because the experience had forged a bond between them.
Previously, Mukesh had declined to appear on a Mahabharat reunion episode of Kapil Sharma's show. He has had beef with both Kapil, who slighted him at an event, and with Yudhishtir actor Gajendra Chauhan, with whom he has had a public war of words in the past. 'Bhishma Pitamah ke bina Mahabharat kahaan hoti hai? (Mahabharat is incomplete without Bhishma Pitamah). Arjun, Krishna, Duryodhana went, everybody went. Yudhistira also went and somewhere he gave a statement that, 'Mukesh ji ko toh bulaya hi nahi tha (Mukesh ji was not invited), they needed people who have a sense of humour,' I said, 'Oye, when these cricketers come, are they asked if they have a sense of humour? They are treated as VIPs, as if they have done someone a favour by appearing on his show,' he told Siddharth Kannan.

Saiyaara OTT release set for Netflix; Diwali debut on the cards
After a record-breaking run at the box office, the romantic drama Saiyaara, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is now gearing up for its digital premiere on Netflix. According to a report by News18, the film — already crowned the highest-grossing love story in Indian cinema — is expected to arrive on OTT around Diwali. While an official release date has yet to be confirmed, sources suggest that Netflix and the film's producers are eyeing the festive season for its streaming debut. Originally planned to drop a few months after its theatrical release, the film's overwhelming success — grossing ₹ 478 crore globally in just over two weeks — has led to an extended cinema run. The final OTT release date will reportedly depend on how long the film continues to perform well in theatres. If everything goes as planned, Saiyaara could brighten up viewers' screens during Diwali celebrations. Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara tells the story of Krish Kapoor, a troubled musician, and Vaani Batra, a reserved poet. The film explores themes of love, heartbreak, and emotional healing. ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5 stars, praising Ahaan Panday's debut performance. 'He effortlessly blends raw swagger with vulnerability,' the review noted, especially in a powerful final scene where he echoes the intensity of cricketer Virat Kohli. Aneet Padda also received positive reviews for her expressive performance, particularly in a standout scene set in a recording studio, where she reflects on the lasting impact of emotions in music as compared to fleeting trends. With steady theatre attendance and positive word-of-mouth, Saiyaara is expected to continue its strong box office run in the coming weeks. Adding to the excitement, a viral video shows Ranbir Kapoor asking paparazzi, 'Saiyaara dekhi kya?' — sending fans into a frenzy on social media. All eyes are now on Netflix's Diwali line-up, with Saiyaara poised to be one of the season's biggest streaming events.

Desi Boys on the Block: Indian Boyband formed by 1D, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran hitmaker to debut
In the '90s, when musician Savan Kotecha first entered the US music industry with dreams of being in a boy band, he was bluntly told that 'no girl will put an Indian guy on her wall' and he should focus on songwriting instead. 'I knew back then that was true, but I always waited for the day when it would be possible to do it,' says Kotecha. Having written hits like What Makes You Beautiful and One Thing for One Direction, God Is A Woman for Ariana Grande, Sapphire for Ed Sheeran, and many more, Kotecha has put together a boy band under his label Visva Records, along with Republic Records, and Universal Music India which may just make his doubters in the '90s change their minds. Named OutStation, the band has 5 members from across the country between the ages of 17 and 22. One member, Bhuvan Shetty, is from Udupi, Karnataka. Others include Hemang Singh from Prayagraj, Mashaal Shaikh from Goa, Kurien Sebastian, a Malayali from Delhi, and Shayan Pattem from Hyderabad. The aim was to create a band that 'feels truly Indian', says Kotecha, adding. 'I think what K-pop did right was that it got so big in South Korea that the rest of the world had to pay attention. We don't need to look to the West for validation. I want them to become a phenomenon in India first, and if it gets big enough, the West will pay attention.' Shetty was scouted through his social media profile, where he regularly covers songs with a guitar accompanying his soulful voice. Clearing a multi-round audition process, he was put in a boot camp with 11 other boys. 'The camp was pretty hectic, there was no time at all, but it was life-changing,' says Shetty. Kotecha explains its purpose, ending with 5 boys finally selected, 'We made sure we had vocal coaches and choreographers teaching them, but we also did things like go busking on the beach and start performing, getting them used to what being in a band would feel like. It was a chemistry test, but also about seeing everyone's work ethic.'
