Read more:
Lose and they would drop into the Conference League. The Easter Road men have now learned they would face Ukrainians Olexandriya or Serbs Partizan Belgrade in the third round of Conference League qualifying.
Dundee United were also in the draw for that and if they can get past Luxembourg side UNA Strassen in the second round, they would then be up against Decic from Montenegro or Rapid Vienna.

'Tough watch at times' but United 'should have put tie to bed'
We asked for your views on Dundee's United 1-0 victory over UNA Strassen at Tannadice in the first leg of the Conference League what some of you We looked like exactly what we are - a team that hasn't played together and lacks sharpness. The back three were solid but I'm struggling to say much else positive. Zac Sapsford took his goal well. We should definitely have enough to get through this round but we'll need to improve quickly to have any chance against Rapid Vienna. Kenny: Really disappointed in the manner the team played, especially in the first half. We gave them far too much respect and stood off them too much. The second leg will be tough as they look a very competent side. George: It's a new team and early in the season so not surprising we didn't quite get the desired result. Enough to show that there is the basis of a good team though. Let's finish the job over there and set us up for another great I don't want to be judging these players too harshly as it's still early days and trying to get 11 new players to gel in a few weeks is a tough ask. I'm hoping the nerves that come with a European fixture will settle now they have a competitive game under their belts. It was a tough watch at times but still trying to be positive as there is a lot of promise there when the team gets up to speed. If we play like we did in the first half every game though, the likes of Celtic and Rangers will absolutely murder us!Kenny: A win's a win but we should have put the tie to bed. The defence looked strong. The cohesion up the park wasn't there because it's basically a brand new team. We need to be ruthless next week. Game on, United!Grant: We Dundee United fans are a nervy bunch. Taking a lead to the away leg is great, but I think everyone should be aware that UNA Strassen would have been content taking a 1-0 defeat back home for the final leg.

David Gray 'proud' of his players after hard-fought draw in Denmark
David Gray was proud of his players' effort after Hibs secured a hard-fought draw in Denmark meaning it is all to play for ahead of the second leg next week in Leith. Jamie McGrath opened the scoring with a direct free-kick on his competitive debut for the Club – before Aral Simsir equalised with a set-piece of his own in the second half. Reflecting on the 90 minutes as a whole, Gray admitted he was proud of the way his players approached the game and handled the occasion. 'It was exactly that – a hard-fought draw'. Gray told Hibs TV. 'First of all, I am proud of the players for their efforts and the overall performance. The first twenty minutes were brilliant, I know we got the goal, but I was really impressed with how brave we were on the ball and the discipline we showed off it. 'The one thing I said to the players when we arrived was 'you need to believe that you can get a result'. We did that tonight, the first part is done and we need to take confidence from that. 'After the game, I reminded the players that this is only part one – it is only half time in the tie, but we've given ourselves a chance –the tie is still alive and we need to keep believing.' After a robust pre-season schedule, the match was Hibs first competitive game of the 2025/26 campaign, and Gray explained how pre-season helped set them up for this fixture. 'Pre-season is always geared up to setting yourself up for the competitive stuff. We played some tough opposition, the likes of Ajax and Bournemouth and that was all geared towards preparing the players to play against elite-level teams. 'Midtjylland are at that level – they have played in the Champions League and are regularly playing in Europe – so we knew it was going to be a tough test. But the shape, the discipline and concentration all had to be there today, and we got our rewards for that. 'We were brave from the start and got right at them straight away.' Gray reserved special praise for the travelling fans who made the trip over to Denmark, and explained how much their passion, singing and noise helped spur the players on. 'I always knew when the draw was made that the fans would look forward to this one. What we've done as players is give everyone a performance to be proud of. 'It is only half a job though from the players' point of view, but the fans understand how big a part they can play, and we will need them again next week. We will sell out the Stadium, it is another European tie to look forward to – it is a real tough task ahead of us but one that we are up for. 'We are all in this together, win-lose or draw, they are the ones that pay their money and stick with us. They were all here in their numbers, they played a massive part, and we could hear them all game and I am sure they will all look forward to the second leg.' Like this: Like Related

Man Utd handed massive Antony transfer boost after unexpected development
Manchester United have a group of four players they want to sell in the summer transfer window after they were exiled by Ruben Amorim ahead of the pre-season tour Manchester United's hopes of selling Antony this summer have been boosted amid reported interest from Saudi Arabia. Antony is part of the so-called 'bomb squad' at United, having been frozen out of the first-team set-up by Ruben Amorim, who is desperate to offload him. United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer for a combined total of £133.5million and know they need to sell players in order to balance the books. Marcus Rashford has been sent on loan to Barcelona, who are covering his wages, but Antony remains on the books along with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia. Amorim has jetted off to Chicago to start United's pre-season tour without the exiled foursome, who have been told to look for new clubs. Antony spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis and had hoped to move to Seville permanently. The Brazilian winger got nine goals and five assists in 26 games for Betis last season, reviving his career and earning many new fans in the process. Betis are keen to re-sign him for the 2025/26 season, but want another loan, rather than a permanent deal. United have different ideas and are seeking a club who will sign Antony, who cost £85m from Ajax in 2022. They have received some interest from Atletico Madrid, but the Spanish side have not followed up on it yet. Nevertheless, a new avenue could be open, with Sky Sports reporting that two unnamed Saudi Arabian sides are considering a move for Antony. Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are also in the picture, but all the clubs are weary over the costs involved in a deal. It is understood that Antony would prefer to stay in Europe's top leagues, rather than move to the Middle East. Erik ten Hag – the man who oversaw his best form at Ajax and authorised his big-money move to United – is now in charge of Leverkusen, but he has distanced himself from a transfer. 'He has great quality,' he told BILD recently. 'I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me. We're not interested in him at the moment, but we'll see what happens in the future.' Antony has returned just 12 goals and five assists in 96 games for United and is a major drain on resources. He earns £200,000-a-week at Old Trafford, where he is under contract until June 2027. After a miserable time at United, he loved his stint at Betis, who he helped reached the Conference League final. 'Yes, I'm very happy. I found myself,' he said at the time. 'I needed to find myself and be happy. My family needed to be happy too. Every day that passes confirms it was the best decision and as you said, I'm enjoying the city and the club every day.'
