Dana Kachilli in PoJK left to crumble by Pakistan-backed regime
Basic infrastructure in Dana Kachilli is in shambles. Roads are barely passable, clean drinking water remains a dream, and essential public services are either missing or in a state of disrepair. Locals accuse the Pakistan-backed regime of wilful ignorance, prioritising resource extraction over the welfare of the people.
Abdul Waheed Kiyani, a resident of PoJK, said, 'From Chattar Klass to Dana, travelling is a nightmare. The road is in such poor condition that it seems no one has looked at it for 35 years. I wonder how journalists or officials even reach here. The government builds roads in other areas, but this beautiful tourist spot is forgotten. This land is rich; it grows apples, saffron, and wheat--yet it is neglected.'
Despite the immense potential for tourism to generate revenue and improve livelihoods, Islamabad has consistently failed to invest in PoJK's infrastructure. Instead, the region's natural resources are being exploited, while its people are left to struggle with poverty and underdevelopment.
Residents argue that this pattern is no accident. For decades, Pakistan has maintained control over PoJK not to uplift its people but to exploit its strategic location and natural wealth. The glaring neglect of places like Dana Kachilli is yet another example of Islamabad's disregard for the voices and rights of PoJK's residents.
Pakistan has systematically plundered PoJK's forests, water resources, and minerals while offering little in return. Hydropower projects, built without local consent, primarily benefit Pakistan's provinces, leaving the local population in darkness and economic stagnation. Timber smuggling and illegal mining operations enrich elites while degrading the environment. Land is being leased to Chinese companies under opaque agreements, raising concerns over sovereignty and exploitation. These actions expose Pakistan's true intent in PoJK--not development, but extraction. (ANI)

The political leader of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Sikyong Penpa Tsering, has dismissed the recent remarks made by Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, on the reincarnation of the 14th Dalai Lama, saying they reflect a complete ignorance of the concept of reincarnation. Sikyong Penpa Tsering (AFP) Taking to social media recently, the Chinese diplomat shared that the Dalai Lama has no authority to decide whether the reincarnation system will continue or not. This comes after the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader announced on July 2 that the 600-year-old institution of the Dalai Lama will continue and that Gaden Phodrang Trust has sole authority to recognise the future reincarnation. Sikyong Penpa Tsering said, 'The social media post by the ambassador is ignorant of the very concept of reincarnation, because the whole purpose of reincarnation is for a spiritually realised person to decide where he or she should be reborn to carry on the responsibilities or activities of the previous life or lives.' Sikyong said that the post, in fact, reflects complete ignorance of the very notion of reincarnation and the reason and objective behind it. 'For a government that does not believe in any religion, being responsible for recognition and forcing Lamas inside to be part of that decision-making process is pitiful,' Tsering said. Taking to X, ambassador Xu Feihong shared that in fact, as a unique succession method of Tibetan Buddhism, the practice of Living Buddha reincarnation has continued over 700 years. 'Currently, there are over 1,000 reincarnation systems of Living Buddhas in Xizang and Tibetan-inhabited prefectures/counties of Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. The 14th Dalai Lama is part of this long-standing historical tradition and religious succession, not otherwise. The reincarnation of Dalai Lamas neither began from him nor will end due to him. He has no authority to decide whether the reincarnation system shall continue or be abolished,' he added. In his July 2 statement, the Dalai Lama said his decision was influenced by numerous requests from Tibetan spiritual leaders, members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, and the Buddhist diaspora in the Himalayas, Mongolia, the Russian Federation and Asia, including mainland China, that the institution should continue. The spiritual leader reiterated that the Gaden Phodrang Trust has sole authority to recognise the future reincarnation and no one else has any such authority to interfere in this matter. After this announcement, an irate Beijing, which describes the Dalai Lama as a 'separatist', countered that the spiritual leader's reincarnation 'must be approved by the central (Chinese) government'. The process of recognising the reincarnations of lamas in Tibetan Buddhism is solely and uniquely a Tibetan religious tradition. In contrast, China maintains that the process of selecting his successor must adhere to Chinese law, asserting its control over Tibetan Buddhism and rejecting any succession beyond its authority.

Speaking to ANI, Anil Rajbhar said, 'He earned immense property by religious conversions. This is only the beginning. He destroyed the lives of multiple women through conversions and which almost amounts to treason. The government is doing the demolition activity. 18 people have been named, including a former minister of a particular community. Many other properties have to be found and seized. Network in 40 countries, and it is an example of the conspiracy against the country outside the border limits.' Earlier, SP Vikas Kumar said, 'This building made by Chhangur Baba on government land is being demolished. Police and PAC are deployed here.' The Uttar Pradesh Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad had arrested Chhangur Baba and his aide in Lucknow on July 5. The person has travelled to Islamic countries 40-50 times. After gathering all this information, a case was registered, and an investigation is currently underway by the UP ATS. Two people have been arrested in that case. An investigation is ongoing, and the arrest of more persons is possible... Their network is pan-India, and most of the funds have come from Gulf countries, which UP STF is investigating,' he added. (ANI)
