The film saw a good growth over the first weekend after the opening day number on Friday but a drop on Monday was expected.
On Friday, 'Housefull 5' opened at Rs 24 crore. It saw a growth of around 29 percent on day 2 and made Rs 31 crore, according to Sacnilk. On Sunday, there was further jump and the film made Rs 32.5 crore. On day 4, it saw a drop in numbers which was expected. Thus the total now, till Tuesday afternoon now stands at Rs 102.58 crore.
The film is mounted on a very high budget being a muti-starrer with some exquisite locations, VFX among other costs. Thus, it will have to hold up steady all through the week and see growth over the next weekend in order to also recover all its costs.
However, it would have done so through the OTT streaming and satellite rights as well.
According to Box Office India, the film will have to continue to do well in circuits like Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, CI to succeed. 'Housefull' is originally a family comedy franchise but as per the trade, the fifth installment now stears towards being an adult comedy and a suspense thriller which has led to lesser footfalls in certain markets. There could have been more family audience in centres like Gujarat and Maharashtra if it was a family comedy.
