Ben Affleck ‘Uncomfortable' With Jennifer Garner, Ryan Reynolds' Growing Bond: Report
Jennifer grew close to Ryan Reynolds through director Shawn Levy, a mutual friend and the man behind Deadpool & Wolverine.
Jennifer Garner is said to be spending more time with Ryan Reynolds, and not everyone is thrilled about it. Her ex-husband Ben Affleck isn't too happy about how close the two have become in recent months especially as they share more professional ties.
According to National Enquirer, Affleck and his longtime friend Matt Damon don't exactly see Reynolds eye to eye. 'Let's just say up front that Ben and Matt are not friends with Ryan, and, in fact, [they] see him as something of a direct competitor, even though they have tons of mutual collaborators and even business team members in common," a source told the publication.
Garner reportedly grew close to Reynolds through director Shawn Levy, a mutual friend and the man behind Deadpool & Wolverine. The source adds that Levy 'prides himself" on building creative connections, and with Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up for an upcoming comedy.
'It's a safe bet that Jen is going to show up in that project," the source said.
Garner recently stepped back into her role as Elektra with a short cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine and sources say she is excited about being part of that creative circle again. According to the insider, she finds the 'energy" around Reynolds and the rest of the team 'different" especially compared to what she experienced with Affleck and Damon.
'As Jen continues to cement her own Hollywood coalition, Ryan is a key player in all that," the source added.
Though Garner and Affleck have kept a cordial relationship since their 2018 divorce and co-parent their children, the source notes that her new dynamic with Reynolds has left Affleck feeling uneasy.
'That's not comfortable for him, but he simply doesn't have any choice or say in the matter. He has to accept it!" the insider added.
This development follows Affleck's recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez whom he married in 2022 after rekindling their early 2000s romance. Their split was finalised in January this year.
As Affleck adjusts, he has reportedly been leaning on Garner for support. In December 2024, In Touch quoted a source saying, 'Ben leans on her for everything. He's got his own place, but he's still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food."
The insider also said, 'He goes to her whenever he has a big career or life decision to make for her advice."
Affleck and Garner got married in 2005 and went their separate ways in 2018 after almost 13 years of marriage. The former couple share three children together: Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose and Samuel.

Teej Mahotsav concludes with focus on culture, women empowerment
New Delhi, Jul 27 (PTI) The Teej Mahotsav 2025, a three-day celebration of tradition, women's empowerment and cultural heritage, concluded on Sunday at Dilli Haat, Pitampura. Organised by the Delhi government, the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the city and beyond, transforming the venue into a hub of music, crafts, food and community engagement, a statement said. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described Teej as a reflection of cultural awareness and women's collective identity. 'The presence of my sisters enhances the beauty of every event. The large turnout shows how deeply connected women are to the spirit of Teej," she said. Minister for Art, Culture, Language and Tourism Kapil Mishra said the event was organised free of cost to promote women-led entrepreneurship and provide a platform for local talent. 'Teej Mahotsav is an important step towards positioning Delhi as the cultural capital of the country," he said.
