Adrien Dumont de Chassart shoots 59 in Wichita Open for 14th sub-60 round in Korn Ferry Tour history
Dumont de Chassart had 12 birdies and a bogey in the morning round at storm-damaged Crestview Country Club, with players allowed to lift, clean and place their golf balls in the fairways because of wet conditions.
'Honestly, with all the rain and storms that they got, I thought the course was in really good shape,' Dumont de Chassart said. 'Greens were rolling nice. You still got some bounces on the green, which is pretty impressive with all the rain they got. It was ideal, right, 80 degrees, about to be 95 the next two days. Probably blowing about 10 miles per hour max. It was a good day to shoot 59 that's for sure.'
The 25-year-old former Illinois player broke the course record of 60 set by Justin Suh in the 2022 final round and matched by Alejandro Tosti in the 2023 final round.
Cristobal del Solar set the Korn Ferry Tour record last year with a 13-under 57 in the Astara Golf Championship. Frankie Capan III and Stephan Jaeger have shot 58 on the tour.
Dumont de Chassart began play on No. 10, and birdied the first three holes. He birdied No. 14, bogeyed the 15th and birdied Nos. 16 and 17 to get to 5 under. On the front nine, he birdied the first five holes and hit a 6-iron close on the eighth for his final birdie.
'Played really well down the stretch,' Dumont de Chassart said. 'Missed a shorty on 7, but that's what's cool about golf, you feel nervous even on 4-footers, right? So I'm glad I bounced back and hit a really, really good 6-iron on 17, hole 8, to set up an easy birdie.'

USWNT revives set piece dominance with 3-0 win over continental rival Canada
The third and final match for the U.S. women's national team in its busy window, and arguably its toughest test against continental opponents Canada, ended with their third consecutive victory. The USWNT sealed a 3-0 victory at Audi Field in Washington, DC in front of a sold-out crowd Tuesday evening. Goals from midfielders Sam Coffey and Claire Hutton opened the scoring in the first half; both were results of set pieces delivered by the third midfielder in their lineup, Rose Lavelle. Second half substitutes Yazmeen Ryan and Tara McKeown combined in the second half to bring the U.S. up to three. Fifty-three minutes later, McKeown, who was very much at home in Audi field where she plays for the Washington Spirit, carried the ball confidently forward before releasing it to Ryan. After wresting herself from pressure near the top of the penalty box, Ryan unleashed a left-footed shot past Canadian goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan, the final blow to the Canadians, who are currently ranked eighth in the world. The U.S. victory caps off two 4-0 wins against the Republic of Ireland in Commerce City, Colorado, and Cincinnati, Ohio, last Thursday and Sunday, respectively. Across the three fixtures, the USWNT scored 11 goals and conceded none, all while head coach Emma Hayes has employed a heavy rotation of players throughout this international window. The team's starting XI for its second meeting with Ireland was a completely different lineup from the first. The lineup for Tuesday's match against Canada, however, was nearly identical to last Thursday's, except for 32-year-old striker Lynn Biyendolo, the most capped forward with 83 appearances, replacing 21-year-old Ally Sentnor. The margins were exacerbated by the sticky D.C. heat; the game kicked off at 7:30 p.m., and temperatures were still in the mid-80s. The humidity made it feel like 90 degrees for the 19,215 in attendance. Hayes continued to make changes in the second half, bringing on Sentnor and forward Emma Sears for Lavelle and Cooper, and Ryan and Sam Meza for Biyendolo and Hutton, respectively. Meza, along with defender Lilly Reale, who started and played the whole game, are two of the three young players called in to this camp from the under-23 group, a move reflecting part of Hayes' larger project to develop both national teams. At halftime, Hutton pointed out on the TNT broadcast that the team looked 'a bit messy' at times, and that they needed to play quicker, smarter, and score more goals in the second. TNT sideline reporter Melissa Ortiz also relayed early in the second half that there were issues with the midfield rotation and that Reale needed to push up higher. The next set of USWNT matches for its window in October are yet to be announced, but the trio of victories have provided ample studying notes for Hayes as younger and less experienced players made their cases to be included in the core group Hayes wants to identify as they build toward the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. Detroit Tigers stars Riley Greene, Javier Báez and Gleyber Torres were named to the American League All-Star team after fan voting on Wednesday. It is the first time since 2007 that the Tigers have had three players elected to start. Torres will start at second base, and Greene and Báez will start in the outfield. If pitcher Tarik Skubal is named to the team, four of the eight defensive players on the field will be from Detroit. Greene made his All-Star debut last year as a reserve. In the 2025 season, he has accumulated 21 home runs, two of which came on Wednesday during the doubleheader with the Washington Nationals. Greene was drafted fifth overall by the Tigers in 2019 and made his MLB debut after playing on the Tigers' minor league affiliates. Báez, who was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2011, joined the Tigers in 2021. After playing in the minor leagues from 2011 to 2014, Báez made his debut with the Cubs in 2014. He was traded to the New York Nets in the middle of the 2021 season before he signed with the Tigers months later. Báez made his MLB debut in Detroit in the 2022 season. Greene and Báez became the first Tigers outfield duo selected to start in the All-Star Game since Ron LeFlore and Rusty Staub in 1976. Torres, who signed a one-year contract as a free agent with the Tigers, was selected as a reserve in 2018 and 2019 when he played for the New York Yankees. Torres signed with the Cubs in 2013 as a non-drafted free agent and was later traded to the Yankees in 2016, playing for a minor league affiliate. Mariners' Cal Raleigh 'glad' MLB All-Star voting process is over: 'Seeing your face everywhere is a little uncomfortable'
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh is being rewarded for his historic start to the season. On Wednesday, Raleigh was named a starter for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, earning his first All-Star nod while being voted the best catcher in the American League. But while Raleigh is pleased about the opportunity, he has another reason to be grateful All-Star voting has ended. While speaking with reporters ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals, Raleigh said he'll be happy to have a little bit less publicity. "Obviously, I'm very blessed, very excited and very honored. It's a cool accomplishment," Raleigh said, via The Seattle Times' Adam Jude, before adding: "I'm just glad it's kind of over, too. Seeing your face everywhere is a little uncomfortable. But I was just very happy." Raleigh, a Seattle fan favorite with a notorious nickname, has burst onto the national scene this season with a hot streak of homers. The 28-year-old catcher has hit a league-high 33 home runs so far (nearly a career high) while boasting a .272 average that far exceeds his previous seasons. In addition to his All-Star bid, Raleigh's early run also earned him a spot in the Home Run Derby. These posts have used peaches as a recurring motif — both as a reference to Atlanta and Georgia and as a nod to Raleigh's "Big Dumper" nickname. For Monday's game against the Royals, as All-Star voting wrapped up, Seattle altered its walk-up music in honor of Raleigh's nickname, with a playlist of songs about butts.
