The minister, along with the Bapatla MP Tenneti Krishna Prasad unveiled a statue of NT Rama Rao and NTR Kalakshetram, and participated in 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu-Intintiki Telugu Desam' programme, at Chandaluru village in J Panguluru mandal, on Sunday. During the village-level campaign, Minister Gottipati visited households to assess the implementation of coalition government welfare programmes and gathered feedback from beneficiaries. Additionally, he distributed three-wheeler scooters to ten differently-abled individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Gottipati praised NTR as the pioneer of welfare schemes for the poor, noting that programmes like two-rupee rice and women's property rights are still implemented by numerous states nationwide. The minister announced infrastructure funding, including Rs 30 lakh for road construction in Chandaluru village, Rs 2 crore for the Chandaluru-Gangavaram BT road, and Rs 35 lakh for constructing a dining hall at the district council high school.
Gottipati explained that the primary objective of the 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu- Intintiki Telugu Desam' initiative is to monitor how welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries during the coalition government's 15-month tenure. He emphasised that programmes such as pensions, Talliki Vandanam, and the Deepam gas scheme distribution should be verified by relevant department officials and secretariat staff. He emphasised the crucial role of party workers in implementing government schemes.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin submitted a petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the immediate release of over Rs 2,000 crore in pending educational funds and the implementation of long-pending railway projects across the state. The appeal was made through State Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu during the Prime Minister's two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, where he inaugurated various development projects and unveiled a commemorative coin honouring Rajendra his letter, the Chief Minister said that the Tamil Nadu government has been effectively implementing the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme since 2018, which has led to consistent improvements in educational outcomes. He reiterated that the state has legal and policy-based objections to certain provisions of the NEP, especially the imposition of the three language policy and the restructuring of school education to the 5+3+3+4 format.'The Tamil Nadu School Education System currently accommodates 43.90 lakh students, 2.2 lakh teachers and more than 32,000 supporting staff. Withholding funds for such a critical and large-scale scheme severely affects the future of lakhs of students,' Stalin said. He urged the Prime Minister to immediately release Rs 2,149 crore due to the state under the scheme for the financial year 2024–25, expedite the first instalment for 2025–26, and ensure that funding is not linked to signing the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) Memorandum of Understanding. Victims of Sigachi unit blast not paid compensation, says BRS leader
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao on Monday alleged that the Telangana government has failed to pay compensation to families of those who died in an explosion at Sigachi Industries Limited in Sangareddy district on June 30. He, along with relatives of some of the victims, met the Additional Collector and slammed the government for its failure to hand over the bodies of the deceased and for not paying compensation of Rs 1 crore each as announced by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Harish Rao led a protest rally by the families of the victims to the district Collector's office. The former minister said even a month after the accident at the factory in Pashamylaram industrial area, there is no clarity on the number of dead, as the bodies of eight workers have not been handed over to their families. He recalled that the Chief Minister had announced Rs 1 crore compensation each to the families of the deceased, but not even one family has received the ex gratia. Harish Rao said the families of the deceased were in mental agony as they were handed over charred body parts, which they had to immerse in the river. The BRS leader said that an accident of this scale had not happened in the history of united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He said that though 54 people lost their lives in this tragedy, the state government's response has been most pathetic and irresponsible. He said there was no official statement about the number of dead and injured. He wanted to know why the government was hiding information about the payment made to the families of the deceased and the injured. Harish Rao said the families of the victims were running around the government offices for death certificates and compensation. They are spending Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 to travel from states like Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He said the Chief Minister had announced Rs 10 lakh each to the critically injured, but they received only Rs 50,000. Harish Rao demanded that the government pay at least Rs 50 lakh each to the critically injured and also ensure payment of monthly salaries. The BRS leader pointed out that an NGO has filed a petition in the High Court, seeking direction to the authorities to pay compensation as promised by the Chief Minister. He also alleged that the government is trying to shield the company management, though it has become clear that the accident was caused by their negligence. He claimed that Yashwant, son of a worker, Jagnmohan, who died in the accident, stated in his complaint that workers had warned the company many times that the use of old machinery could lead to disaster, but it did not pay any attention.
