AGC files appeal over sentence against motoring influencer, brother
In a statement, the AGC said the appeal was filed against the sentence handed down to Tengku Abdul Aziz, who pleaded guilty under Section 182 of the Penal Code for providing false information to a public servant.
An appeal was also filed against the sentence imposed on Tengku Nizaruddin, who pleaded guilty to abetting the provision of false information under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 182 of the same code.
"This department refers to the Muar Magistrates' Court decision on July 25, 2025, which imposed a sentence of one month's imprisonment from the date of conviction on July 25, 2025, and a fine of RM1,500, in default three months' imprisonment on both offenders, Tengku Abdul Aziz and Tengku Nizaruddin.
"After examining and considering the decision of the Muar Magistrates' Court, this department has filed a notice of appeal today against the sentence handed down to both offenders," it said.
On July 25, the Muar Magistrates' Court sentenced Tengku Nizaruddin, 38, also known as 'Ija', and Tengku Abdul Aziz, 30, to one month's imprisonment and a RM1,500 fine after both pleaded guilty to the charge.
The court ordered both siblings to begin serving their jail terms on July 25 or face three months' imprisonment if they failed to pay the fine. – Bernama

KUANTAN: Police have completed their investigation into the death of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir, who was found unconscious in a drain near her school dormitory on July 16. Repeat offender stabbed policeman in Pudu while carrying drugs
KUALA LUMPUR: The man who stabbed a police corporal during a patrol in Pudu last week turned aggressive because he was carrying drugs, says Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay. The 56-year-old suspect, a local man, was found to have 14 prior criminal records involving drugs and violent offences. He is currently remanded for seven days until next Thursday, with the case being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing a public servant, as well as Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Speaking to reporters after visiting the injured officer at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia today, Ayob Khan said Corporal Mohd Nadzri Sudiman of the Pudu police station is in stable condition. "He suffered injuries to the small intestine, with the stab wound about three centimetres wide and seven centimetres deep. Fortunately, it did not hit any vital organs," he said. The officer is now under medical supervision, able to speak but still in pain due to surgery. "God willing, he is expected to recover within one to two weeks," Ayob Khan added. Also present during the visit were Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, Bukit Aman Management (Administration) deputy director Datuk Azizee Ismail, Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Mohd Lazim Ismail and Cheras police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan. Wife shocked to learn policeman husband stabbed during patrol
KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of a police corporal stabbed while on patrol in Pudu last week described her shock upon receiving a call from the hospital requesting immediate consent for emergency surgery. Norfazliana Osman, 35, said she was at their home in the Pudu police quarters when Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, contacted her around 1pm on Thursday (July 31). "They said they needed to operate immediately and asked for consent as part of his intestines might need to be removed due to the stab wound,' she told reporters at the hospital today. Her husband, Corporal Mohd Nadzri Sudiman, remains in stable condition but is still weak and requires pain management, she said. "I understand the risks of his job as a policeman, but as a wife, the fear is always there,' said Norfazliana, who has two children aged 11 and seven. She said it is uncertain how long her husband will remain hospitalised, but confirmed their children have been informed of his condition. Earlier, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay visited Mohd Nadzri at the hospital.
