David Lynch's Director's Chair Tours Sites Linked To Legendary Auteur

Yahoo16-06-2025
David Lynch's personalised red leather director's chair has been touring Los Angeles ahead of a major auction of memorabilia from the late auteur filmmaker's life and career.
The tour includes the Mulholland Drive sign and Winkie's Diner - both settings from Lynch's acclaimed 2001 film Mulholland Drive, as well as the corner of Hollywood and La Brea, the site of Lynch's infamous "FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION - LAURA DERN" protest celebrating the actress' performance in his 2006 film Inland Empire.
Lynch's chair also stopped off at Lynch's favourite eatery - Bob's Big Boy diner - on Father's Day. The late director frequented the 1950s-style diner daily, often joined by collaborators such as Kyle MacLachlan and Dern. Following Lynch's death earlier this year, Bob's Big Boy became an impromptu memorial site, where fans gather to pay tribute, leaving flowers and mementos in his honour.
The tour is organised by Julien's Auctions in partnership with Turner Classic Movies (TCM), will culminate in The David Lynch Collection, a live auction taking place on Wednesday 18 June 2025 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills and online at juliensauctions.com.
The director's chair, marked with Lynch's name and valued at $5,000 to $7,000 (£3,900-£5,500), is one of 450 items from his personal estate being auctioned.
It will feature personal effects from his home, including film props, musical instruments, fine art, home furnishings, woodworking tools, and paint supplies from his private art studio - a testament to Lynch's multi-faceted career as filmmaker, musician, visual artist, designer, and writer.

Bruce Willis' Wife Sends Clear 2-Word Message Amid Husband's Health Journey

Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, sent a clear message to family, friends, and fans on July 24. The author, whose book The Unexpected Journey is slated for a September release, took to her Instagram Stories with two words of advice: "Make time." "After my morning meditation. A gentle reminder to make time," she captioned a photo of her friend wearing a hat with the same message. "My beautiful friend making some time. I love to see it," Heming Willis added. Heming Willis has been an advocate for patients diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, which was Willis' diagnosis in 2023. The mom of two has also become a caregiver advocate, highlighting the importance of caregivers and the very real consequences that can arise from caregiver burnout. Heming Willis has kept her husband's health journey private, though she does share some updates with fans from time to time. On Father's Day, for example, she shared a candid post about how things used to be and admitted that she was feeling "profoundly sad." "Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else change. But to be fair to myself, these symbolic days stir up a lot. I'm profoundly sad today. I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family," she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time. "As they say in our FTD community, 'It is what it is.' And while that might sound dismissive, to me, it's not. It grounds me. It helps me return to the acceptance of what is and not fight this every step of the way like I used to. Today, let's celebrate the badass dads, those who are here, and those we carry with us. Onward," she Willis' Wife Sends Clear 2-Word Message Amid Husband's Health Journey first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 24, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

Michelle Saniei and Aaron Nosler End Their Relationship After a Year Together

The Valley star Michelle Saniei has split from her boyfriend Aaron Nosler after one year of dating, PEOPLE confirms. PEOPLE also confirms that in wake of the split, Saniei, 36, is focusing on her 5-year-old daughter, Isabella, whom she shares with ex Jesse Lally, as well as work and taking care of herself as she navigates this new chapter in her life. Saniei started dating Nosler, 38, a financial advisor, after her separation from Lally in 2023. In a May 2024 Instagram Live, she described how they met at a coffee shop after Isabella waved at him. '[Isabella and Aaron] had a little interaction from far away, and I didn't see it ... and then I got my coffee and then left, and Aaron and I actually didn't speak," she said. "A couple of days or a week later, he saw us again and then it was kind of the same thing. So, Isabella was actually the introduction and it was just very natural.' Nosler made frequent appearances with Saniei on season 2 of The Valley. During the July 1 episode of the show, Lally, 43, had a conversation with Nosler at a dinner in Hawaii to address things that "bothered" him. "Having my mother and my friends send me screenshots of you with my daughter on Father's is disrespectful to post a picture of my daughter without even asking her father if that's okay," Lally said. "That was a big slap in the face from Michelle.' In response, Nosler said that "completely slipped my mind." "We were having such a good day supporting her, and I put myself in your shoes and I was like, 'Yeah, that's not right,' so I took it down," he said. "But like, treat us with respect.' Lally then asked if he "did or did not cross the line when I was married to Michelle." "No, absolutely not," Nosler responded. "We texted here and there once for that coffee meeting at Blackwood and another time when I said, 'Hey, come to Runyon. I'm selling honey.' Other than that, we would run into each other all the time.' During a confessional, Lally said that "I 1,000 percent think [Michelle and Aaron] had a physical and emotional relationship before we separated." "How else do you explain having a boyfriend two weeks after being separated while still living in my house?' he asked. Saniei has denied having an affair. In the season 2 finale that aired on July 22, Saniei and Lally decided to put their differences aside in order to better co-parent Isabella. Saniei said she was 'choosing to give [Jesse] the benefit of the doubt." The Valley reunion airs Tuesday, July 29, at 8 p.m. ET. Read the original article on People

Lifelong Fan of Princess Diana Mortgages Home Four Times to Purchase Items Connected to Royal

A chance encounter at age 12 with Princess Diana set Renae Plant on her lifelong mission to assemble a veritable museum of the late style icon's most memorable outfits. In fact, Renae mortgaged her home for the fourth time to secure 35 items connected to Di at the recent Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection sale in L.A., held by Julien's Auctions. She bid nearly $700,000 on a single dress: the famous Caring Dress (pictured), which the People's Princess wore during her second Australian tour in 1988. Renae's love for the late princess began with their run-in during Diana's first Australian tour in 1983. Renae skipped school to go to a factory in Yandina, Queensland, Australia, where Diana and then-Prince Charles were touring. Renae was shocked when Di saw her, made a bee-line and shook her hand. 'I was so enamored when I saw her … she was so beautiful,' recalls Renae, now 54. Mesmerized, the young girl ducked under a barricade and walked behind a procession of guards and ladies in waiting. It was then she noticed Diana had dropped a clay platypus someone had given her. 'I ran over to the police and said, 'Lady Di dropped this,'' Renae shares. 'He looked at me and said, 'She must have dropped this to give to you.' That tiny platypus sent me on a trajectory I could never have imagined.' All of the Diana items Renae has acquired over the years can be seen online at The Princess & The Platypus Foundation's Princess Diana Museum, named after Renae's run-in with Di, of course. Today, the museum contains 'tens and tens of millions' of dollars' worth of items. The roughly 2,730 pieces include the 1991 Versace dress Di wore on the cover of Harper's Bazaar and a pair of stunning diamond-and-pearl earrings given to the princess by Queen Elizabeth herself. Renae's recent auction win also includes the famed Falcon Dress, a custom cream silk crepe embroidered evening gown designed by Catherine Walker and worn by Diana on her 1986 Gulf Tour. The Di devotee is glad to have added the items to her collection. 'I feel so blessed to be able to preserve Diana's legacy,' Renae says. 'I truly believe she was looking over us. She knew those pieces had to end up in the Princess Diana Museum. Angels were looking over me, and I know she was one of them for sure.' Solve the daily Crossword
