Vietnam 's race to secure a trade deal with the Trump administration, even if the details aren't clear, gives the Southeast Asian country an advantage over regional rivals, according to Ted Osius, president of the US-Asean Business Council. 'The message from the Vietnamese government has been clear at every stage that we want to keep doing business with the United States,' he said in his first interview since returning to Vietnam to establish a presence for the council in Ho Chi Minh City. South Korea's parliament approved a 31.8 trillion won ($23.3 billion) extra budget as new President Lee Jae Myung seeks to revive an economy struggling with weak consumption and mounting trade risks from US tariffs.
