My Lovely Journey – K-drama Episode 2 Recap & Review

The First Step
Episode 2 of My Lovely Journey begins with O Sang-sik heading home and crossing paths with aspiring director (and last episode's editor in-suite) Lee Yeon-seok. Unfortunately, he's been let go after outing Song's behaviour, but he's working on a film script on the side.
Sang-sik is intrigued and wants to see the script, but they're interrupted by Yeo Reum showing up. These are scenes we missed last episode, contextualizing what made her choose to leave in the first place. She shows up at the café, speaks to Sang-sik, and asks to leave with the camera and Manager Hwang for styling and make-up.
While Sang-sik inflicts his tough love outside, Yeon-seok watches all of this transpire from inside. He likens them to a father/daughter dynamic, and can see the pain with both of them after this argument.
In the past, Yeo Reum was a bright girl and always aspired to do more. When she promised her father she'd get a boat to Seoul and do more with her life, he told her never to come home until she's a success.
Yeo Reum left Hwado and immediately found life punching her in the mouth. Teary-eyed, she phones phone at a booth, pleading with her dad to let her return but he refused, telling her to stick it out.
This gives more weight to Sang-sik's words too, as she eventually finds herself facing that same crossroads again here, needing to stick it out and try to find her way. Inside the envelope she's given a ticket to Makpo but at the station, she winds up talking to a woman who recognizes the beads on her bracelet. They get talking about Buyeo and Yeo Reum eventually decides to go there.
The sweet old lady explains that she needs to go to Daejeon first then transfer to a bus heading over to Buyeo. Alternatively, she can get a bus leading right there but it does take a while. She chooses the latter, and starts to get into the rhythm of her first trip.
At the bus station, Janghang, the place is lashing it down with rain so she takes refuge in the nearby convenience store. We cut across to Sang-sik inthe middle of this though, who's shocked and panicked when he finds out Yeo Reum hasn't gone home.
Yeo Reum's phone has run out of charge, and inside the shop, asks the cashier to charge her phone. However, the guy recognizes her and snaps her photo, uploading it online. She's also quite clumsy and spills her noodles on the floor, bringing more attention to herself.
When the cashier asks whether she's a former idol, Yeo Reum gets spooked and hurries out the room. She winds up in a restaurant where the owner cooks her a delicious meal. However, its here where she realizes she's left her phone behind in the shop.
Yeon-seok rings the shop and worries the cashier, warning not to take the phone or steal it as he has location tracking and can see precisely what he's doing. However, as fate would have it, his grandma actually owns the restaurant that Yeo Reum is in! What are the odds!
When the grandma notices her prayer bead bracelet, she mentions how the knots are tied in a familiar way over at Muryangsa Temple. She encourages Yeo Reum to go take a look, but on her way out, her grandson cheekily manages to get her number too.
Yeo Reum gets into the swing of things here, taking photos and videos for Kate as she walks through the Muryangsa trail. Although its only been one day, she's already starting to feel more confident in herself and liberated with this newfound freedom.
However, things take an awkward turn when she notices Kate show up, speaking Korean, and telling her she can't take photos. It's all very weird, especially as she tries to chase after her and she disappears.
Yeo Reum ends her trip, where Sang-sik is there to greet her. He reprimands her, scolding Yeo Reum for not listening to him. He explains that she needs to keep fighting but also to understand when a door closes, another opens and she can switch up and try something else. As long as she doesn't throw the towel in, she can keep finding her purpose.
The Episode Review
So My Lovely Journey closes out its debut weekend with a decent couple of episodes. There's nothing particularly outstanding about this drama just yet, but there's enough in this to stick with for the time being.
The premise is very much centering around Yeo Reum's healing journey, and even seeing her start to enjoy the nature and become more in tune with her own surroundings and feelings is a nice way of capturing what a solo trip can do for you.
However, beyond that there's not too much to cling to right now. This is a super chill and quite low-stakes drama, all things considered. We still don't have much more context around Eun-chae, and we don't know why Kate has decided that Yeo Reum should head out on this trip either.
With only 10 episodes to play with, lets hope we get some answers in the episodes ahead.

Dad of 'lifelong fan' who fell to death at Oasis gig pays heartbreaking tribute

Lee Claydon, 45, died after falling from a balcony at one of Oasis's performances at Wembley Stadium - in an emotional tribute, his father described him as a 'lovely, lovely bloke' The father of an Oasis fan who plunged to death at their Wembley Stadium gig has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his "lovely, lovely" son. ‌ Lee Claydon, from Bournemouth in Dorset, was pronounced dead on Saturday after sustaining "injuries consistent with a fall". The 45-year-old is thought to have fallen from the upper tier balcony of the stadium during the concert. Lee leaves behind his son, dad, partner, brothers, sisters, nephews and niece. ‌ His father Clive Claydon, 75, has now revealed that his son was a "lifelong" fan of the band, and had been excited to see them live along with his brother Aaron, and his niece and nephew. It comes after a mum left a 16-month-old baby home alone to die when she went on holiday. ‌ ‌ Clive told The Sun: 'He was a lifelong Oasis fan and he was so looking forward to going. Out of all the thousands of people there why's it got to be my son?" He said Lee lived with his partner and son Harry in Bournemouth, and was "lovely, lovely bloke" who "no one could say a bad thing about ever." At the weekend, shocked gig-goers described witnessing the horror moment the dad fell from the balcony during the lively concert. Writing on social media, one parent said her teenage son "saw him falling" but couldn't see the landing, while another woman said she saw the man fall into their block, calling the incident "awful". ‌ Claire Collier posted: "It happened about [five] mins before the end of the gig, it was awful... thinking of his family and friends and everyone that witnessed it." Vincent Muylle, who was also at the gig, described the mood inside the venue as "euphoric" until the "very shocking" fall occurred. "He fell, right in front of us," he recounted. Petrina Whiley also spoke of the collective disbelief among those who were in the block the following day, saying: "I think we are all in a state of shock at what happened last night." ‌ A GoFundMe page has been set up in the hope that any donations, big or small, will go a long way towards helping his family throughout this awful period. A message on the page reads: "Lee was a loving family man who was a role model to his son Harry and was loved so much by all his family. Lee would have done anything for any of us and he was taken from us far too soon and we will miss him so very much "Lee loved all outdoor activities, one of his favourite hobbies was fishing. He also loved music and his guitar. He also really enjoyed going to watch and support the boys and his nephew at their football games. Amanda and the boys have our full support at this very sad time which is why we would love to be able to help them financially as well as emotionally. "Please help us raise as much funds as we can to take one worry off Amanda and family right now as they are going through any family's worst nightmare." A statement released by the band following the incident said: "We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved."

Oasis fan Lee Claydon sadly died following a fall at the band's gig on Saturday night and his last social post has been revealed where he responded to a message from his brother A dad's last three-word social media post shows his excitement about going to an Oasis gig where he tragically fell to his death. ‌ Lee Claydon was pronounced dead at the scene at Wembley Stadium on Saturday having suffered 'injuries consistent with a fall'. He is understood to have fallen from the upper tier balcony at the London concert while the crowd was enjoying fireworks and cheering the show. ‌ Before the gig Aaron Claydon, brother of beloved Lee , had written on Facebook 'today is gonna be the day', a reference to the Oasis smash-hit 'Wonderwall'. "Sharing his go fund me page, in the hope that any donations, big or small, will go a long way towards helping his partner Amanda & the boys throughout this awful period and costs of things. You just don't fathom you will go out for a night of amazing fun & not come home at the end of it." After the news emerged, Oasis said they were 'shocked and saddened' to hear of the death during their sell-out Wembley show at the weekend. The band said in a statement: 'We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.'

Most acclaimed horror film of the year Weapons shocks audiences with unbelievable twist

Between 28 Years Later, Sinners, and Final Destination: Bloodlines, 2025 has been filled with blockbuster horror hits. And now it looks like Zach Cregger's Weapons is shaping up to be this year's next big scary smash. Weapons is already the most acclaimed horror film of 2025, boasting a perfect 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Starring Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, Weapons follows a group of characters in a small town where seventeen children from the same classroom vanish in one night. Not only is Weapons being praised for being terrifying, it's also surprising viewers with an unexpected comedic twist. 'Weapons is even more of a blast than I thought it would be. Swings so confidently between horror and comedy that it makes tonal whiplash its b***h,' gushed one fan. Another wrote, 'Director Zach Cregger proves once again he's a master of the unexpected. #Weapons is a slow-burn ride packed with pitch-black humor, creeping dread, and an ending that goes completely off the rails — in the best way.' A third commented, 'Right when THE NAKED GUN set the bar for hardest I've laughed at all year, WEAPONS' final act friggin' cleared it. Oh it's a terrifying Rashomon-styled horror but also the funny as hell. Had me hooting and hollering like crazy.' Another exclaimed, 'WEAPONS: tense, nerve wracking, funny, scary, funny again, disturbing. With an insane ending that will have you cheering, laughing and then wincing.' Cregger previously directed the horror-comedy Barbarian, which shocked moviegoers with its wild plot twists in 2022. Weapons is far from the only horror film scaring audiences this summer. Together, starring real-life married couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie, was released this week to glowing reviews from critics. The body-horror film follows a couple who move to the countryside after coming to a crossroads in their relationship, only to find themselves battling an evil, unnatural force. Supernatural horror movie Do Not Enter is also garnering buzz online after releasing its trailer this week. According to Bloody Disgusting, 'the story follows a group of thrill-seeking urban explorers known as the Creepers, who livestream their adventures from abandoned locations. 'They venture into New Jersey's notorious Paragon Hotel seeking a legendary gangster's missing $300 million fortune, only to encounter hostile rivals and supernatural forces.' Viewers have praised the horror film for being surprisingly funny on top of its scares The movie is notable for being directed by famed music video director Marc Klasfeld, who has previously worked with Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Charli XCX, and Ozzy Osbourne. 'I have waited decades to find the right feature film project to which I could truly dedicate myself,' Klasfeld said. Other horror movies set for release this year include The Strangers Chapter II, Black Phone 2, Five Nights At Freddy's 2, and Stephen King's The Long Walk. The small screen will also get a dose of horror with Alien: Earth and Welcome to Derry. Meanwhile, a follow-up to the disturbing 1984 flick Silent Night, Deadly Night is set to hit theatres just in time for Christmas. The remake is coming from the same team behind last December's bloody holiday hit Terrifier 3, which grossed over $90 million a the box office. The original film, released in 1984, followed the story of Billy Chapman, who suffered from PTSD after witnessing his parents' murder on Christmas Eve by a man dressed as Santa Claus. After his parents were killed, he was then sent to an orphanage where he's brutally abused by Catholic nuns. As an adult, the holiday season sent Billy into a psychological breakdown and resulted in the disturbed young man donning a Santa suit and going on a killing spree. The film was incredibly controversial at the time, with outraged parents eventually getting it pulled from theatres.
