Bihar is soul of India and birthplace of its philosophical foundation: Jagdeep Dhankhar

Muzaffarpur, June 24 (UNI) Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar today described Bihar as the soul of India and the birthplace of its philosophical foundation, recalling the state's glorious historical, intellectual, and constitutional legacy.
Addressing a public gathering at the foundation day ceremony of Lalit Narayan Mishra College of Business Management here, Dhankhar said, "Bihar was once the global centre of learning, with Nalanda, Vikramshila, and Odantapuri being not just universities, but civilisations."
Dhankhar highlighted the significance of Bihar, saying it is the land where Buddha attained enlightenment, Mahavira achieved spiritual awakening, and the philosophical foundation of India was born.
He highlighted that ancient knowledge, social justice, and modern aspirations coexist in Bihar, which will fetch global recognition for the country.
Referring to the Champaran Satyagraha launched by Mahatma Gandhi, Dhankhar said it turned the issue of farmers into a national cause and introduced a new grammar of governance based on truth, dignity, and fearless service.
Dhankhar also spoke about the rich history of Nalanda University, which was a residential university with 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers, attracting scholars from across the world.
He lamented the barbaric attacks by foreign invaders on Nalanda, particularly the burning of its library by Bakhtiyar Khilji in 1192.
Discussing the National Education Policy 2020, Dhankhar said it aims to create skilled professionals, contented citizens, employment generators, knowledgeable humans, and build a country that reflects the collective aspirations of the nation.
He emphasised that education in India has always been value-based and character-building, connecting with life values.
Dhankhar also referred to the Emergency, terming June 25 as the darkest chapter of Indian democracy when the Constitution was "murdered". He praised Jayaprakash Narayan for lighting the flame of democracy and said the 'Total Revolution' was a call for national reawakening. UNI RS AKT SSP

No One Asked India To Stop Operation Sindoor: PM Modi Replies To Oppositions Trump Ceasefire Claims

Replying to the Opposition's charges on US President Donald Trump's India-Pakistan ceasefire claims, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, while addressing the Lok Sabha, said that no leader of the world had asked India to stop Operation Sindoor. 'We said this on the first day in the press conference that our action is non-escalatory. We did Operation Sindoor by saying this. And that is why we stopped the strike after targets were achieved. No leader of the world asked India to stop Operation Sindoor,' the Prime Minister said. Operation Sindoor The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This came after the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, in which 26 individuals were killed. According to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Operation targeted key terrorist hubs and achieved complete operational success within just 22 minutes, eliminating over 100 terrorists and handlers. Pakistan retaliated by launching drone and missile attacks on Indian territory. After four days of military conflict between India and Pakistan, a ceasefire agreement was announced on May 10. Amit Shah In Lok Sabha Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, during the ongoing debate in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, said that Pakistan is Congress's mistake and added that during Operation Sindoor those who sent the terrorists were killed, and in Operation Mahadev those who carried out the attack were gunned down. "Pakistan is Congress's mistake. If they had not accepted partition, there would have been no Pakistan today," Shah said. "Operation Sindoor killed those who sent the terrorists, and Operation Mahadev killed those who carried out the attack... I thought that after hearing this news, there would be a wave of happiness in the ruling and the Opposition parties, 'Magar Syaahi padd gayi inke chehre pe' (Their faces are smeared with ink)... What kind of politics is this?" Shah said during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lower House. Responding to the opposition's "why there was no war" charge, the Union Home Minister said that PoK exists only because of Jawaharlal Nehru. He claimed that the Nehru government gave 80 percent of Indus waters to Pakistan and forgot about PoK in 1971 during Indira Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister.

At the same time he launched a blistering attack on the Opposition for raising question on Operation Sindoor . Responding to the two-day debate on Pahalgam and Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, the prime minister said the attack was aimed at instigating riots in India, and the country's unity has foiled the attempt. He also noted that Pakistan had some inkling of Indian action and had started issuing nuclear threats, but could do nothing when terror targets were hit. Key Highlights 'I stand here to make a case for India, and to show a mirror to those who do not understand this. I had said that we will teach the terrorists and their masters a befitting lesson which will be beyond their imagination. No country told India to halt military operation after Pahalgam terror attack: PM Modi in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told the Lok Sabha that after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, no country told India to halt its military operation against terror bases in Pakistan. He made the remarks after Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi asked in Parliament why countries only denounced terrorism, and not Pakistan, after the attack. In response, Modi said that out of 193 countries, only three made statements in support of Pakistan after India's military operation on May 7. 'Be it the Quad or BRICS, India got support from all over the world.' The Quad, or Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a grouping comprising India, the United States, Australia and Japan. The BRICS grouping comprises India, Brazil, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Modi on Tuesday told the Lok Sabha that India's military operation in May showed that 'nuclear blackmailing' by Pakistan was no longer an effective strategy. 'By showcasing its technical expertise, India conducted precise strikes deep within enemy territory,' the prime minister said. 'These operations inflicted significant damage on Pakistan's airbases and military assets, rendering many of their airbases non-operational to this day.' Modi added that the operation showed that any assault on Indian soil by militants would lead to 'a decisive and fitting response on India's own terms'. It also demonstrated that 'there will be no distinction between a government that harbours terrorists and the masterminds behind such acts of terror,' he asserted.
