Posh Girls review – boarding school besties on the couch
Posh Girls pitches itself as a satire of upper-class girlhood, full of careless flouncing, rounded vowels and ridiculous nicknames. When Alex (Chomley) and Hermione (Robertson) run into each other at their very expensive therapist's, Alex's offhand comment that her daddy owns the building gives a sense of scale to their wealth. But this is no eat-the-rich ridicule. Instead, this story of a fractured friendship peels away the fronts these 30-year-olds have put on for each other, revealing the traumatic challenges they have faced and the hole each one's absence has left in the other's life.
Best friends at boarding school, they haven't spoken in more than a decade. Hermione is guarded, recoiling at Alex's probing questions about what she is doing in therapy. But the dark story that unravels, which illuminates the atrocities of boys and the cruelty of girls, makes Alex's cluelessness hard to believe. At times it is as if these characters don't know their own history until they reach it in the script.
Despite a few instances of furious overacting, the pair are good fun to watch together. Chomley's deadpans are particularly entertaining. They quickly fall into leaping through their shared history, with Steve Waddington's direction shunting them between the waiting room and their private school days, the pace slowed with regular blackouts. These jumps in time fill out the backstories, but the performances don't shift much between the two. By flitting back and forth in answer to any questions raised, the script leaves very little unsaid.
A kind heart is lodged at this play's centre. It wants to remind you to check in on your friends, to look out for and believe them. Because the world can be harsh, even to posh girls.

We tried Wonder, Marc Lore's food hall venture, to see if it's the all-in-one meal option executives promise
Reporter Alex Bitter visited this Wonder location in Washington, DC. This Wonder location opened in July and sits near the intersection of 14th Street Northwest and U Street Northwest — a place with lots of apartments and townhomes nearby, as well as a lively nightlife scene. It's the first of several locations that Wonder plans to open in the Washington, DC area. Wonder's Food Hall was new, clean, and welcoming. As I (Alex) walked into this Wonder location, I found it bright, clean, and easy to navigate. There were tablets for placing orders to the left and a pick-up area with shelves to hold orders on the right. Through a doorway between the two was the kitchen. Wonder uses a single kitchen to prepare food from many different menus — a setup similar to a ghost kitchen. I noticed these colorful printed menus on the shelves by the ordering area. Besides scrolling on a tablet, you could look at a printed menu before ordering. Each menu was designed by a different celebrity chef. I scrolled through the touchscreen to see my options. After scrolling through the options, I decided on M's Spicy Fried Chicken Deluxe Sandwich Combo with Streetbird Slaw and a bottled lemonade ($13.95) from Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson as well as a Sirloin Steak ($28) from The Mainstay by Marc Murphy. Not everything on the tablet was available. When I tried to look at items from Bobby Flay Steak, I got a message saying that the restaurant was "closed." I'm not sure what this meant. Wonder relies on a single kitchen to make orders at each location, and the kitchen here was clearly open. There was some seating for in-store diners at this Wonder location. There was enough seating at this Wonder food hall for around a dozen dine-in customers. I was visiting on a weekday night just before 8 p.m., and the location wasn't busy. The seats were comfortable, but it didn't feel quite like a "food hall," which conjures up images for me of chefs preparing food in front of you or some other visual entertainment as you wait for your food. The layout seemed focused on takeout and delivery orders. The design of this Wonder food hall seemed optimized for delivery. Workers from the kitchen brought out orders destined for delivery customers, while a steady stream of drivers came in and out of the store. After exactly 10 minutes, my order was ready. I barely had time to wash up in the restroom and snoop around the store before my steak and sandwich were ready. The wait time was shorter than many of the experiences I've had at fast-food restaurants in the last few years. Everything looked good at first glance. The steak and sandwich were warm and obviously fresh out of the kitchen as I took them out of the bag. This spread cost just under $50. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich. Unlike a lot of fried chicken sandwiches at this price point, this one used a whole cut of chicken instead of a processed patty. And while I could've used a little more spice, the sauce was flavorful. The Sirloin steak was more marginal. The steak, which I ordered to be cooked medium, felt slightly rarer than that. More importantly, it had hardly been seared, which meant that I didn't get that beefy hit that even cheap steaks can provide. Perhaps I should've paid a little more to smother it in one of the optional sauces. As a home chef, I know that good steaks don't take long to cook. I would've loved to watch how Wonder's staff prepared this one. The coleslaw was tasty. The lemonade was sugary but not bad. Wonder seemed to be saving time and work by offering drinks in bottles, cans, and other packages. There weren't any soda fountains in sight. Overall, it was a fine, but unremarkable, meal. I might come back for the fried chicken sandwich. That, plus the fast service, means I might stop by again to try something new from Wonder's several menus. Editor Ashley Rodriguez ordered from Wonder for delivery in New York City. I (Ashley) used the Seamless app to place my order mid-afternoon on a weekday. More than 20 Wonder "restaurants" seemed to be available during lunchtime. Most of them weren't labeled Wonder brands, though, so it wasn't immediately obvious without checking the address. We had Wonder deliver the food to our home in Staten Island. Each menu had a handful of starters and entrées unique to the restaurant, along with the same selection of kids' options (chicken tenders or Mac and cheese), beverages, and desserts. The limited menus made it hard to find something everyone in my family of three was excited about. We settled on shawarma from Maydan by Wonder (one of five I saw with Wonder in the name). We ordered lamb shawarma, vegetable shawarma, and a sea salt chocolate chip cookie. It came out to $47.50 before tax, tip, and the app service fee. Even with the $7 credit I got for spending at least $35 on my first order, it was steeper than I'd usually pay for shawarma, of which there's no shortage of spots nearby. Using a third-party app complicated our order. While Wonder says that it offers a wide selection of mix-and-match meal options from its different menus, ordering through an app like Grubhub, which Wonder bought in January for $650 million, or its sister app Seamless, limits you to a single restaurant. When I tried to add items from more than one Wonder menu to my order on the Seamless app, I got a prompt indicating that I would need to place a separate order. A spokesperson for Wonder said that the company's own app or website "is the most seamless way to enjoy the full mix-and-match experience across our menus." "Seamless and Grubhub currently list each of our brands individually, and we're actively exploring ways to improve that experience," the spokesperson said. The food came quickly — on the low end of the estimate in the app. I ordered at 2:08 p.m. and was given a 29 to 44-minute delivery window. When I checked the app at 2:37 p.m. to see the status of my order, it had already been delivered. The food inside the bag was what I had ordered. The shawarma tasted better than it looked. The meal itself looked a bit sad, with the herbs wilted and the vegetables overly soft. But I was pleasantly surprised when I bit in. The vegetables tasted fresh and well seasoned, and the sauces were flavorful. One of my dining partners said that the lamb shawarma was a bit one-note. The lamb didn't have the characteristic shaved texture of shawarma, but it was fine overall. The cookie was big — and tasty. I might try Wonder again if it's easier to order from multiple menus. As someone who typically orders for a family of three with different tastes and dietary restrictions (I'm vegetarian), I would be much more likely to order from Wonder again if I could choose from its range of menu options like you can in the food hall. I might have ordered a salad (I've ordered from Wonder's Royal Greens menu before and enjoy their concoctions), while my husband could have gotten Tejas Barbecue or Streetbird. All in all, we enjoyed the meal for what it was. We wouldn't go out of our way to order it again, but it was a quick, convenient, mildly healthy option (there were vegetables) when we were otherwise too busy to cook.

On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Steve and Kayla's Digs: The couple are needing pizza dough when Kayla realizes something is off. Steve says he's distracted by this case as it could impact Stephanie. He can't tell her the specifics (Apparently, Steve understands the meaning of confidentiality) but says he stumbled across something disturbing in his investigation of the Kirakis family. He says Alex was arrested a few years before he showed up in Salem. All he knows is Alex pled guilty. He spoke with Justin who didn't seem to concerned with his discovery. Steve hated to hear it because it reminded him of a man Stephanie dated years ago who was bad news (Hmmm, must be who Stephanie was referring to a few eps back). Kayla believes Steve is referring to Jeremy Horton and he concurs. They remember how Stephanie admitted the black sheep Horton had put his hands on her. Kayla reminds Steve she once fell in love with a very bad but redeemable boy. That being said, Stephanie has not been lucky in love and neither want to upset her current apple cart. Steve agrees to keep an eye on Alex and keep their daughter out of it. Stephanie's Apartment: Stephanie arrives home to find a shirtless Alex cooking Greek tacos. She finds the surprise quite lovely. He smacks her backside with a wooden spoon and says the surprises are just beginning. Alex shows her the galley of her manuscript which is at the printers and now has a release date. She notices the passage she asked to be taken out is still there. Alex is pissed as he told Kate to remove the passage and forgot to circle back. He calls to speak with Kate and promises his kissing cousin beloved to make it right. He hangs up and tells Stephanie the manuscript already went to print and the passage can't be deleted without costing the company a fortune. He's willing to do it and she thanks him for his efforts. Stephanie says that passage had some history and says it was inspired by her and an ex-boyfriend. Alex can't imagine there's a huge chance her ex will pick up the erotic romance novel. Horton Square: Rafe and little T run into Cat. He thanks her for everything she did for Arianna Grace and Holly. Just then, Chad arrives on the scene. He had no clue Rafe and Cat knew each other and she explains they've crossed paths a few times. Cat thanks Chad for picking up Felicity the other day. They exchange a few more words and Chad exits. She thinks it was a close call because they need to keep their ISA/FBI identities under wraps. They agree to meet up later to discuss business. University Hospital – Lobby: Sarah runs into Xander and Victoria. He says their daughter has been quite vocal about seeing mommy and he thought he would bring her back a day early. Sarah wonders if Xander has an ulterior motive for his kindness. Xander pushes back and Sarah says she's confused as she thought the nanny was going to do the handoffs so they didn't have to see each other. Xander decides to leave but Sarah stops him and apologizes, saying she's under a lot of pressure (referencing Sophia's case without giving away any identifying information). They chat a bit more when Sarah says she still loves Xander and he says he feels the same. Sarah makes mention of their separation and it's clear neither wants to move forward but neither are willing to admit it. With that, Xander pulls out the legal documents for their separation. She sees he has signed everything and does the same (The longing looks between these two just kill me). DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Susan freaks out because she feels Stefano's presence in the house. She declares Stefano DiMera is alive! EJ tries to calm her mother down but she continues to say she feels Stefano's presence in her bones. EJ is confused since his father has been dead for almost a decade. Susan explains she is now a medium and gets different vibes. EJ is surprised and Susan says she is still in training as a medium. EJ decides he needs a drink and downs his brown liquor. Susan looks back at Stefano's portrait and says she does not like what she's feeling one bit. Just then, Chad arrives and greets Susan. She immediately tells Chad his father is very much alive and wants the brothers DiMera to do something about it. With that, Susan excuses her self to align her chakras. As Susan wanders around, EJ thanks Chad for testifying in such a supportive way earlier today. He invites Chad to stay for dinner but he needs to get to the pharmacy at the hospital. He complains about the shorter hours and EJ says they had to cut them to save money. With that, he exits as Susan continues her odd behavior. Rafe's FBI Office: Cat says since John died Marlena has been out which has kept her out of the hospital. They chat a bit about the DiMeras Cat has run into and asks about Tony. Rafe says he is a good one unlike his brother Andre. Cat recognizes the name as someone Abigail killed. Rafe says she wasn't in her right mind at the time. He goes on to say there are many MIA DiMeras, including: Stefan, Megan and Dimitri (Lest we not forget Peter Blake!). Cat asks about Stefano and wonders, based on his history, if he's really dead. Rafe understands her concerns but says Stefano would be older than God at this point. That being said, Cat should never count anything out from happening in Salem, especially where the DiMeras are concerned. Before Cat exits, Rafe says Stefano was called the phoenix because he always found a way to rise from the ashes. University Hospital – Lobby: Cat and Chad run into each other. She lies to him about her business at the hospital and then makes small talk. Days of Our Lives Recap: Stefano's Presence Overwhelms Susan Endings Susan wants to take one of her medium courses as EJ says he needs to exit. Just then, Susan gets another weird feeling from Stefano's portrait. Alex says Kate is asking about future books from Stephanie. She says it's way too soon but has a few irons in the fire. They move on to chatting about the sexy time they will enjoy later in the evening. Steve and Kayla's pizzas are getting cold whilst they are heating up the sofa. Chad and Cat head into the elevator together when it suddenly stalls and they realize they are stuck. Sarah dotes over Victoria as Xander awaits the elevator.
