Exports Rise by 9.2% in First Five Months of 2025 - Jordan News

Amman- Jordan's national exports grew by 9.2% during the first five months of 2025, reaching JD 3.578 billion, compared to JD 3.276 billion in the same period of 2024, according to the monthly foreign trade report issued by the Department of Statistics on Sunday. اضافة اعلان Re-exports rose by 2.3%, totaling JD 360 million, up from JD 352 million last year. As a result, the Kingdom's total exports increased by 8.5% to JD 3.938 billion, compared to JD 3.628 billion during the same period in 2024. Imports also rose by 8.6%, reaching JD 8.135 billion, up from JD 7.439 billion. Consequently, the trade deficit widened by 8.6%, amounting to JD 4.197 billion, compared to JD 3.865 billion last year. The coverage ratio of total exports to imports remained steady at 48% during the first five months of both 2025 and 2024. For May 2025 alone, total exports stood at JD 901 million, including JD 826 million in national exports and JD 75 million in re-exports. Imports for the month totaled JD 1.581 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of JD 680 million. The report indicates that in May 2025, total exports rose by 2.4% year-on-year, driven by a 4.8% increase in national exports. Meanwhile, re-exports declined by 18.5% and imports fell by 5.6%, which contributed to a 14.5% reduction in the trade deficit. The coverage ratio for May 2025 rose to 57%, compared to 53% in May 2024, marking a 4-percentage-point improvement.

AMMAN — The Kingdom's exports of clothing, fertilisers, potash and pharmaceutical preparations achieved growth during the first five months of this year, which "directly" contributed to supporting and growing national exports during this period. According to the foreign trade report issued by the Department of Statistics (DoS) and monitored on Wednesday by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the Kingdom's exports of clothing and accessories grew by 8.8 per cent at the end of May this year, reaching JD665 million, compared with JD611 million for the same period last year. National exports of fertilisers for the end of May this year increased by 8.5 per cent to JD394 million, compared with JD363 million for the same period in 2024, and raw potash increased by 4.8 per cent to record JD198 million, compared with JD189 million for the same period in 2024. Pharmaceutical preparations for the end of May this year increased by 0.9 per cent, reaching JD233 million, compared with JD231 million for the same period last year. At the same time, the national exports of jewellery decreased by 16.8 per cent to reach JD277 million, compared with JD333 million for the same period last year, and phosphate exports decreased by 4.5 per cent, to record JD212 million, compared with JD222 million for the same period last year.

Fertilizer exports increased by 8.5 percent to JD 394 million, up from JD 363 million. Exports of raw potash grew by 4.8 percent, totaling JD 198 million compared to JD 189 million during the same period last year. Pharmaceutical exports also saw a modest rise of 0.9 percent, reaching JD 233 million, up from JD 231 million in the corresponding period of 2024. Conversely, exports of jewelry declined by 16.8 percent, falling to JD 277 million from JD 333 million. Phosphate exports also dropped by 4.5 percent to JD 212 million, compared to JD 222 million during the same period last year.

The Financial Index declined by 0.74%. The Services Index showed a slight increase of 0.04%.
