Kesari 2 OTT release: Did you miss watching Kesari 2 in theatres? Here's your chance to watch the high-voltage courtroom drama. Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan will be soon streaming online. The film was originally released on 18 April in theatres and received a warm response from the audience and critics.
As per multiple portals, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh will make its OTT debut on 13 June.
The film will be available online on Jio Hotstar.
An official announcement from the Jio Hotstar team is yet to come.
Kesari 2 is helmed by director Karan Singh Tyagi.
It is the spiritual sequel to Akshay Kumar's hit action film Kesari (2019).
The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, centred around C. Sankaran Nair and the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
It stars Akshay Kumar as Nair and also features R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday as lawyers Neville McKinley and Dilreet Gill respectively.
Kesari 2 is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Akshay Kumar's Cape Of Good Films.
The film saw a decent start at the domestic box office after minting ₹ 7.75 crore on its opening day. It went on to pick up pace, clashing with Sunny Deol's Jaat and Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero. It also somewhat suffered after the release of Ajay Devgn's much-anticipated Raid 2.
Going by the latest updates and industry tracker Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 made a total worldwide collection of approximately ₹ 145 crore. While its India Net collection was ₹ 92.63 crore, its India Gross collection was ₹ 110.47 crore.
The film recently completed 50 days in theatres since its release.
The Live Mint review of Kesari 2 reads, 'The film makes the same allegation as the recent series The Waking of a Nation—that Jallianwala Bagh was a premeditated massacre. An investigation of this, and the real facts of Nair's life, would've been enough for a fine, sobering film. Instead, we get a misleading wishful fantasy. 'The event speaks to the present times that we live in,' Tyagi told Mid-Day. 'It's a post-truth world where fake news is rampant.' But Kesari 2 is also post-truth.'

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri Film Mints Rs 7 Crore

Last Updated: Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, earned Rs 7.25 crore by day two. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, it faces competition from Son of Sardaar 2 and Saiyaara. Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, finally arrived in theatres on August 1 after several delays. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film follows a new love story and is a spiritual follow-up to the 2018 movie Dhadak. Although it started off slowly on day one, the box office numbers are improving. By the end of day two, Dhadak 2 has earned Rs 7 crore, according to Sacnilk. The film hasn't crossed Rs 10 crore yet, but there's still a chance for it to grow with the weekend audience. On day two, Dhadak 2 showed a slight bump at the box office, raking in Rs 3.75 crore. The film had opened with Rs 3.5 crore on its first day, and with this new figure, its total collection has now reached Rs 7.25 crore. While the numbers aren't huge, the film seems to be holding steady heading into the weekend. Dhadak 2 isn't having it easy at the box office. The film is facing tough competition from Son of Sardaar 2, which also released this week. The Ajay Devgn-starrer comedy sequel earned Rs 7.5 crore on its second day which is double of Dhadak 2's Day 2 collection. With this, Son of Sardaar 2's total now stands at Rs 14.5 crore. Meanwhile, Saiyaara continues to rule the box office in its third week. The romantic drama is all set to cross the Rs 300 crore mark by Sunday. Also holding strong is the animated mythological film Mahavtar Narasimha, which is doing very well in its second week. The film narrates the story of a law student who falls in love with his classmate, only to face harassment from her family due to caste differences. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, and backed by Dharma Productions, Zed Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, the romantic drama dives deep into themes of caste discrimination, love, and social resistance, offering a raw and emotionally charged cinematic experience. A spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, this version is a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Alongside the lead pair, the film also features Zakir Hussain and Saurabh Sachdeva in pivotal roles. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ananya Panday Reveals Secret Name Of Her Group Chat With Suhana Khan, Shanaya Kapoor And Navya Nanda

Ananya Panday shares her group chat name with Suhana Khan, Shanaya Kapoor and Navya Naveli Nanda — and it's hilarious. Most friendships in showbiz are short-lived, often born under flashing lights and media frenzy. But for Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan, Shanaya Kapoor, and Navya Naveli Nanda, their bond goes way deeper than glamour or gossip. Long before camera flashes and film launches, these four were dreaming out loud. Today, they're all charting different paths. Ananya has found steady ground in films. Suhana is stepping into the limelight. Shanaya recently made her debut. And Navya has carved out her own identity away from cinema. But one thing hasn't changed — their loyalty to each other. And yes, they have a group chat — it's called Ananya's Fans! In a chat with Times Of India, Ananya said, 'I don't know, but we like to call ourselves Charlie's Angels. We actually have a chat group called Ananya's Fans. I guess our show could be called Charlie's Angels." While their names now pop up across headlines and red carpets, their friendship has remained grounded. Ananya says work doesn't dominate their conversations. 'We have shared our dreams while growing up, but as much as people think we do, we don't really talk that much about work. We talk about all kinds of things that girls of our age do." From weekend catchups to keeping each other sane during high-pressure moments, the bond has survived fame's filter. Each of the four brings something unique to the table. But for Ananya, Suhana stands out for her emotional strength. 'Suhana is very kind and soft-hearted and she gets affected by things very easily. Some people think that 'sensitive' is a bad word, but I believe being sensitive is a good quality. As an actor, you need to have sensitivity, and this is Suhana's huge strength." Ananya Panday started her acting career with Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2. Suhana Khan made her debut in Zoya Akhtar's The Archies. Shanaya Kapoor recently stepped into films with Aankho Ki Gustakhiyan. Navya Naveli Nanda chose not to go into acting and is working in business and social projects instead. Ananya Panday is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday. Suhana Khan is the daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Shanaya Kapoor's parents are Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor. Navya Naveli Nanda is the granddaughter of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and the daughter of Shweta Bachchan. Ibrahim Ali Khan has to allow public to criticise him, says Sarzameen director Kayoze Irani: 'It will never get easier'

Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan is only two films old in the industry, but has already seen his fair share of criticism. His debut film, Nadaaniyan, saw some criticism come his way for his performance. His recent release, Sarzameen, also saw mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Sarzameen director Kayoze Irani spoke to Hindustan Times in an exclusive chat about the feedback the film and Ibrahim received. Ibrahim Ali Khan in a still from Kayoze Irani's Sarzameen. On the criticism Ibrahim faced for Sarzameen Kayoze, the son of actor-director Boman Irani, says he understands that both he and Ibrahim come from privileged backgrounds when it comes to cinema. Ibrahim is the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, and the younger brother of Sara Ali Khan. "Yes, I know that Ibrahim is a nepo kid, as am I," says Kayoze, adding, "He has come into the spotlight and put himself on a pedestal where he's allowing the country to judge him. There have been doors that may have been opened for him. So when you are up there, you have to, you have to allow the public to criticise you because this is the same public that will show you love." However, Kayoze says that the problem begins when the criticism is not constructive. "I have a problem when it's mean and it's nasty, and I have a problem when the comments are nasty without having seen the film because then you are taking joy in being nasty," he explains. However, the filmmaker adds that addressing the mean comments will not change anything. "For him, I don't think that my commenting on it or his commenting on it is changing that. What has to change is his coming and proving everybody wrong." 'Ibrahim and I have a lot to prove' Sarzameen stars Ibrahim alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran, two veteran actors with decades of experience behind them. Kayoze says, "Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran have nothing to prove, but Ibrahim and Kayo have a lot to prove. So, I genuinely embrace the criticism. Yes, when it comes without having watched the film and when you are eagerly awaiting someone's failure, that is wrong." But the filmmaker believes that the audience has warmed up to Ibrahim more as compared to his debut film a few months ago. "I read all the reviews, I read all the YouTube comments, and the Instagram comments. I do feel that people have taken to him a lot more this time around. Now it's up to him to keep doing it, to keep signing and keep putting one step ahead of another. It's never going to get easier, for him or for me," he says Sarzameen is currently streaming on JioHotstar.
