UP police officer Chandradeep Nishad worshipped floodwater in his house, calling it 'mother Ganga'. His viral videos show him offering milk and flowers. In a bizarre incident reported from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj, a police officer worshipped the floodwater that entered into his house. The video of him offering milk and flower to the floodwater went viral. Several regions across North India are witnessing severe waterlogging due to incessant rains. The officer, Chandradeep Nishad, shared two videos on his Instagram account. He can be seen worshipping the floodwater and swimming in it. While wearing his police uniform, Nishad offered milk and flowers to the waterlogged street and called it 'mother Ganga'. In the video, he can be heard chanting, 'Jai Ganga Maiya ki" (Hail Mother Ganga). 'Mother Ganga arrived at our house while leaving for duty this morning. Got blessings by worshiping Maa Ganga at my doorstep. Hail Mother Ganga," he wrote in the video caption. As per Nishad's Instagram Bio, he is UP police swimming champion. His bio reads, 'PSO Hon'ble Justice High Court Allahabad, national swimmer & UP Police swimming champion." The police officer shared two videos online within a gap of one day. In the first video, floodwater is outside his house and he is offering milk and rose petals to it. In the second video, the water entered his house and he can be seen taking dips in the water. Internet gave mixed reactions to the video, while some users expressed concerns over the waterlogged street, some praised Nishad's faith. The Varuna River, a key tributary, has taken a fierce form due to the swelling Ganga, resulting into evacuations along its banks as water begins entering residential areas At the same time, the Ganga River has reached close to the danger mark because of the incessant rains. YSRCP demands suspension of by-poll
Tadepalli (Guntur District): YSRCP has urged the State Election Commissioner to suspend the Manindram MPTC by-election in Kuppam, Chittoor district, citing violence by TDP supporters. Hussain, a resident of Lathigaon village in Kathigorah, Cachar district, Assam, was returning home on August 1 when he was allegedly slapped mid-air by a co-passenger. He was reportedly experiencing a panic attack when the incident occurred. According to video footage circulating on social media, Hussain appeared to suffer a panic attack while walking through the aisle. Flight attendants tried to calm him, but an unidentified passenger seated nearby allegedly slapped him forcefully in full view of others. The act was immediately condemned by both passengers and crew members. Meanwhile, back home in Katthigorah in Cachar district of Assam, his wife, Sufiana Begum, told News18 how the family got worried after not finding Hussain at the airport when they went to receive him. 'The last call he made was from the airport. He told me that security checks were done and asked me to come receive him at Kumbhirgram Airport. The flight landed at 1:45 PM. Everyone came out, except him. He just vanished. We haven't eaten or slept. I want justice. He is helpless, we are helpless. Please help us," expressed Sufiana Begum tearfully. A missing complaint was filed, and police found he hadn't taken the flight to Silchar or left Kolkata airport. He was later found at Barpeta railway station in Assam, appearing unwell. Hussain is the sole breadwinner of his family, which includes a three-year-old child and his ailing father, Abdul Mannan Majumdar, currently battling cancer.
