Celebrate for less with four great budget Champagnes
Published: Invalid Date,
IF you are throwing a celebration, a glass of bubbly is the ultimate tipple.
But you don't have to spend big for Champagne.

You can get fab fizz for a fraction of the cost.
Try one of these sparkling alternatives recommended by the experts.
FRENCH FIZZ: Only sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France can be labelled Champagne.
If it is made elsewhere in France, it is called Cremant.
This is created using the same method but, without the Champagne name, it does not command the same premium.
Jennifer Deacon at Laithwaites says: 'If you love Champagne but want something easier on the pocket, Cremant is your best friend.'
Try Morrisons' The Best Cremant de Limoux, £12.25.
Jennifer says: 'Cava is such a smart buy right now.
"It's another sparkling wine where the hotter climate brings out fruitier flavours.'
Woman shares Prosecco secret code hack and how to know if it tastes like champagne
You can currently get Cava Brut for £5.79 at Sainsbury's.
CHEAP AND CHEERFUL: Prosecco is made differently to Champagne or Cava, so the flavours are slightly different but it's also a cheaper option.
Jennifer says: 'Put very simply — Champagne is made in a bottle, whereas Prosecco is made in a tank.
Top tip: look for 'Prosecco DOC' on the label.'
Until May 4, Aldi has dropped the price of its Prosecco Spumante DOC to £4.99, down from £6.99 making it the perfect time to stock up.
EXPERIMENT WITH ENGLISH: English sparkling wine is getting more popular and is a match for most continental tipples.
Get a bottle of Asquith Gardens wine for £17.97 at Asda or Tesco Finest English sparkling is £18.50 down from £21.50 with a Clubcard.
Both supermarkets are running buy six, save 25 per cent offers on wine at the moment

Tesco shoppers have just DAYS left to double the value of their Clubcard points just in time for the summer holidays
There are only days left to claim the bonus so shoppers need to be quick CASH IN Tesco shoppers have just DAYS left to double the value of their Clubcard points just in time for the summer holidays Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TESCO customers have just days left to get their hands on an extra £10 in Clubcard points, just in time for the summer holidays. Shoppers have until July 29 to exchange £5 worth of Clubcard vouchers with one of Tesco's Days Out Reward Partners. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Tesco shoppers need to be quick as the deal ends on July 29 Credit: Alamy These include big-name attractions such as Cadbury World, Thorpe Park, Legoland Windsor and The London Eye. Meanwhile, if you live in Wales then you can exchange your points for a WWT annual membership or trip to Tenpin bowling. Once you have done so 1,000 worth of Clubcard points will be added to your account by October 19. To get the deal, you need to exchange at least £5 worth of Clubcard points with a rewards partner. To do so simply sign into the Tesco grocery and Clubcard app or go to 'My Clubcard account'. Next browse the reward partners and choose one you would like to spend your vouchers with and complete your order. The bonus is limited to one reward per Clubcard membership, which means even if you make more than one exchange, you will still only get one £10 top up. Meanwhile, if you have joined your Clubcard account with a spouse or other family member then you will only get one bonus in this promotion. The offer does not apply to entertainment partners including Cineworld, Disney+ or Picturehouse. The deal is the latest in a series of offers aimed at helping Tesco customers to make their money go further. Earlier this year the major supermarket was offering triple points to customers who exchanged their points with select reward partners. To be eligible customers simply needed to make a qualifying purchase from the Tesco Marketplace between May 13 and June 4. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's recently gave Nectar customers triple points on selected brands in a limited-time deal. Plus, Lidl regularly hands out digital coupons for £10 off a £40 shop to customers. How to save money on your food shop Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save hundreds of pounds a year: Odd boxes - plenty of retailers offer slightly misshapen fruit and veg or surplus food at a discounted price. Lidl sells five kilos of fruit and veg for just £1.50 through its Waste Not scheme while Aldi shoppers can get Too Good to Go bags which contain £10 worth of all kinds of products for £3.30. Sainsbury's also sells £2 "Taste Me, Don't Waste Me" fruit and veg boxes to help shoppers reduced food waste and save cash. Food waste apps - food waste apps work by helping shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses shift stock that is due to go out of date and passing it on to members of the public. Some of the most notable ones include Too Good to Go and Olio. Too Good to Go's app is free to sign up to and is used by millions of people across the UK, letting users buy food at a discount. Olio works similarly, except users can collect both food and other household items for free from neighbours and businesses. Yellow sticker bargains - yellow sticker bargains, sometimes orange and red in certain supermarkets, are a great way of getting food on the cheap. But what time to head out to get the best deals varies depending on the retailer. You can see the best times for each supermarket here. Super cheap bargains - sign up to bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where shoppers regularly post hauls they've found on the cheap, including food finds. "Downshift" - you will almost always save money going for a supermarket's own-brand economy lines rather than premium brands. The move to lower-tier ranges, also known as "downshifting" and hailed by consumer expert Martin Lewis, could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your food shop. The schemes offer vital help to families struggling to keep up with rising food prices. Food price inflation rose for the third consecutive month in June, piling further pressure onto families struggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, transport costs have also pushed up the cost of living. Do you have a money problem that needs sorting? Celtic transfer windfall chance amid Juranovic Premier League interest
The Parkhead club sold the Croatian international to Union Berlin two-and-a-half years ago in a £7.5 million deal, which reportedly included add-ons, including a sell-on fee. And he's now attracted interest from English Premier League clubs including Fulham and Burnley, according to reports in Germany. Read more: Celtic made a chunky profit on Juranovic after signing him for a bargain £2.5 million from Legia Warsaw in 2021 before selling him to the Bundesliga club 18 months later. He recovered from a serious knee injury at Union and returned in November to play the rest of the season in Germany and win an international recall for Croatia too. He has two years left on his deal in his German capital, but could be tempted to try out the English top flight, which would yield Celtic another windfall for the 29-year-old.
