Lava Agni 4 to launch in India soon; Key specifications and pricing tipped online
The Lava Agni 4 is likely to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, an upgrade from the Dimensity 7300X chip used in the Agni 3. Reports suggest the Agni 4 will have a 6.78-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device may include dual 50MP rear cameras arranged horizontally in a pill-shaped camera module with an LED flash between the lenses. This setup contrasts with the triple rear camera system found on the Lava Agni 3.
On the other hand, a leaked render shared by tipster Yogesh Brar, suggests that the Lava Agni 4 will feature a metal frame and a white back panel. Unlike the Agni 3's curved edges, the new model might have flat edges. The power and volume buttons could be located on the right side. Notably, the mini AMOLED display on the back of the Agni 3 is missing in the new design, which marks a shift in the device's features.
Furthermore, the device is expected to include UFS 4.0 storage to give users a faster data transfer. It may also pack a large 7,000mAh battery, which could offer extended usage without frequent charging.
According to a 91Mobiles report, the Agni 4 will retail in India for around Rs. 25,000. This price is higher than the starting price of the Lava Agni 3, which was Rs. 20,999 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 256GB Agni 3 variant with a charger was priced at Rs. 24,999. The increase in price is likely due to the upgraded processor and other new features.
However, Lava has not yet announced the official launch date, pricing, or availability details for the Agni 4. The company has also not confirmed the distribution channels for the upcoming smartphone. Consumers interested in the Lava Agni 4 will need to wait for an official statement from the company for detailed information.

Yali Capital closes Rs 893 crore deeptech fund
Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based Yali Capital closed its debut deep tech-focused fund at Rs 893 crore, exceeding its original Rs 500 crore target and Rs 310 crore greenshoe option. The Sebi-registered Category II AIF plans to deploy the fund across early-stage and late-stage investments in sectors such as semiconductors, AI, robotics, aerospace, and smart manufacturing. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Founding managing partner Ganapathy Subramaniam told TOI that the fundraise was completed entirely through word-of-mouth, without any bankers or distributors. "Nearly 78% of our capital came from India – entrepreneurs, family offices, fund-of-funds like Sidbi's FFS and Self-Reliant India Fund, and corporate backers including Infosys and Qualcomm," he said. The fund's leadership team also committed Rs 15 crore each to the vehicle. Yali Capital operates through a dual structure comprising a Sebi-registered AIF and a GIFT City-based feeder vehicle to attract global capital. The firm has already backed five startups and plans to invest in three more by the end of the year. The average ticket size ranges from $2 million to $10 million, with ownership targets varying from 20% at seed stage to as low as 5% in late-stage deals. The fund will allocate 70% of capital to early-stage bets and the remaining 30% to growth-stage investments, primarily in companies at Series D and beyond. "Of the early-stage capital, about 45% will go into first institutional rounds and 25% into follow-ons," Subramaniam said, adding that the fund will not participate in secondary transactions. Subramaniam, who previously led and backed deep tech companies such as Cosmic Circuits, IdeaForge, and Tonbo Imaging, said the team brings strong operator experience and intends to work closely with founders. "Today alone, two of our portfolio startups spent three hours each with us. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now We're not just capital providers; we want to help execute the vision," he said. While Yali's early-stage focus will be on experienced or university-affiliated founders in deep tech, the late-stage strategy leans heavily on partner Mathew Cyriac's track record of taking companies like MTAR Technologies and Data Patterns public. "India has several deep tech firms doing hundreds of crores in revenue but struggling to scale. We want to come in, back them with capital and execution, and take them public," Subramaniam said. Asked about sectoral depth, he flagged manufacturing, robotics, and chip design as areas with strong founder readiness. "India is the world's second-largest chip design talent pool. The challenge is converting that into product companies that can compete globally," he said. The firm expects to announce a large investment in the chip design space in the coming weeks. While India's domestic deep tech market remains early, Subramaniam said the LP response and founder momentum point to a long-term inflection. "The ecosystem is maturing. There's plenty of pipeline. Now it's about patient capital and execution."

ITC to invest Rs 20,000 cr across businesses; ‘Bharat First' to anchor global aspirations: CMD
'As we continue to scale new horizons, ITC plans to invest Rs 20,000 crore across businesses in the medium term,' Puri said, without providing further details. 'Encouraged by the promise of the Indian economy, your company has invested in eight world-class manufacturing facilities in the recent past, with an outlay of nearly Rs 4,500 crore,' Puri informed shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting held virtually. Kolkata, Jul 25 (PTI) Diversified conglomerate ITC Ltd plans to invest Rs 20,000 crore across its businesses over the medium term to strengthen manufacturing capabilities and scale emerging growth vectors, Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Puri said on Friday. He had earlier announced this investment plan during the 2024 AGM speech. The investment could span in areas such as FMCG, sustainable packaging and export-oriented value-added agricultural products. As we continue to scale new horizons. While he did not provide a specific timeline for the proposed capex, Puri said the investment will be directed toward areas aligned with the company's 'ITC Next' strategy, which seeks to build a future-ready portfolio through both organic and inorganic expansion. He said the company has built 40 state-of-the-art manufacturing assets, enriching ITC's robust ecosystem of 250 dedicated factories and 7,500 MSMEs. 'Across your company's businesses, over 90 per cent of value-addition takes place in the country, enlarging ITC's contribution to the economy,' he noted. A key pillar of this strategy is ITC's foray into the online food services space through a fast-scaling food-tech platform. 'A new vector of growth envisioned in the ITC Next strategy is your company's Food-Tech business, which leverages your company's strengths in foods, hotels and digital technologies to tap into the fast-growing online food services segment,' Puri said. The business has already scaled up to 60 cloud kitchens across five cities under four brands — ITC Master Chef Creations, Aashirvaad Soul Creations, Sunfeast Baked Creations, and Sansho by ITC Master Chef. 'This business has registered a CAGR of 108% in the 3 years since inception, setting new benchmarks in culinary innovation and tech-enabled operations, gaining increasing consumer franchise,' he said, adding that the platform is now being progressively introduced across the country. On ITC's global outlook, Puri reiterated that its global ambitions are anchored in a strong domestic foundation. 'It is our firm belief that Indian brands must adorn the global stage and towards that, establish an enduring legacy in Bharat first, before making an impact overseas,' he said. ITC's FMCG portfolio currently represents an annual consumer spend of over Rs 34,000 crore and reaches more than 260 million households across India, with a growing presence in over 70 international markets. 'The growing consumer patronage and trust over the years for your company's products emboldens our aspiration to expand our FMCG portfolio with the overarching ambition to serve domestic and global consumers with these world-class home-grown brands of impeccable quality,' Puri said. The company launched over 100 new products last year across categories such as health and nutrition, hygiene, naturals, convenience and on-the-go, while continuing to build on mega brands and pursue value-accretive acquisitions like 24 Mantra Organic, Prasuma, Yoga Bar and Mother Sparsh. Responding to shareholder queries, Puri said the company had introduced over 300 new products in the past three years, highlighting innovation as a continuing priority to meet dynamic consumer preferences. On the performance of the paperboards and packaging business, Puri acknowledged that it remains a 'cyclical industry' currently facing headwinds due to 'dumping of cheap imports and a surge in wood prices'. He added that the industry has sought 'safeguard measures' from authorities to address structural challenges. PTI BSM RG This report is auto-generated from PTI news service.
