
Pedestrian (20s) dies following collision in Ballymun
A pedestrian has died following an incident involving a car in Dublin in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At approximately 4:55am, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian in Balbutcher Lane in Ballymun.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries have been reported at this time, gardai said.
The road is closed for technical examination by forensic collision investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of the Balbutcher Lane and Balcurris Park areas of Ballymun, between 4am and 5am, and have camera footage, including dashcam, are asked to make this available to investigating gardai.

Gardaí ask people to stop sharing videos after woman hit by truck in Gorey
Gardaí have asked people to stop sharing pictures and videos from the scene after a woman, aged in her 60s, was hit by a truck in Gorey, Co Wexford on Friday. The incident took place on Gorey Main Street at 10.45am on Friday morning. Advertisement The woman was seriously injured and taken to St Vincent's University Hospital for treatment. 'We would urge those in possession of videos and photos of this incident to be respectful to those affected by not sharing them online or in messaging platforms,' a Garda spokesperson said. Paramedics attacked by patient throwing bricks
Seiitbek Erkin Uulu trapped paramedics Harvey Jenkins and Tom Pursey inside their ambulance in August 2024, then smashed its windows and threw bricks at them. Video footage released by the London Ambulance Service on Friday shows Uulu stomping on the vehicle's windshield while the medical workers were inside.
