Sandeep Reddy Vanga's BOLD Move: Lauds Kiara Advani Amid Deepika Padukone Row, Snubs Shahid Kapoor

News1821-06-2025

Sandeep Reddy Vanga celebrated 6 years of Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh but only shared Kiara Advani's picture.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has marked 6 years of Kabir Singh- his Bollywood breakthrough film. However, the post has caught everyone's attention as the director has only shared Kiara Advani's picture, seemingly snubbing Shahid Kapoor, who played the titular character in the movie. Interestingly, Vanga has shared an image of his former leading lady amid reports of his fallout with Deepika Padukone.
Kiara Advani played Preeti in the film, a pivotal character who was Shahid Kapoor's love interest in the film. Instead of sharing an image of his hero, Vanga posted a picture featuring Kiara. Have a look here:
This comes as Vanga is embroiled in the Spirit controversy. For the unversed, Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly removed Deepika Padukone from Prabhas starrer Spirit. Reports suggest that her demands, including eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film's profits, did not sit well with director Vanga. Deepika, a new mother, is reportedly seeking to balance her work and personal life by reducing her working hours.
Vanga then took to his X handle and slammed an unnamed actor by accusing them of playing 'dirty PR games'. 'When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are…Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it," Vanga wrote and then added, 'Aisa karo…. Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames. I like this kahawath very much 🙂 खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !"
Soon after, Deepika was announced as part of Atlee and Allu Arjun's upcoming film AA22 X A6. Judging by the teaser, she appears to play a warrior princess in the action-packed venture. After the film's announcement, Allu Arjun was reportedly ousted from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's next film. If a report by Siasat.com is to be believed, the Telugu superstar had signed a movie with the Animal director last year. However, insiders now claim that the film has been put on hold and Allu Arjun has been removed from it.

Rashmika Mandanna defends Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal'; says, "Nobody is forcing anyone to go and watch..."

Picture Credit: X With the cinema evolving frame by frame, filmmakers are now taking the risk of bringing the dark shades on the big screen unapologetically. One of the most recent and strong examples of the same is 'Animal. ' Though the movie was released in December 2023, the conversation around it continues. The toxic masculinity of the male protagonist played by Ranbir Kapoor sparked a debate. While several lauded Ranbir for his acting chops, several others criticised him for bringing such a messed-up character to the big screen. Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the female protagonist Rashmika Mandanna also faced the heat. Speaking about the criticism that the movie faced, Rashmika in her recent media interaction said that a film must be perceived just as a film and not a means to judge an actor's real-life personality based on the character that he or she is portraying. Rashmika Mandanna's take on Animal's backlash It has been said over the years that what you see on the big screen leaves a big impact on your personal life. The debates around cinema influencing and shaping society have been going on for decades. 'Animal' was also criticised for setting a bad example for society. Addressing the same, Rashmika, during her appearance at Mojo Story, said, "If you're someone who is going to get influenced by a film, then watch your kind of films. ' 'Nobody is forcing anybody to go and watch every film. If that were the case, every film would be a blockbuster,' she added. When asked if the backlash bothered her, the actress mentioned that it didn't bother her and explained, 'There are gray characters in each one of us, we're never black and white, we have gray in us. It's just that Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about a messed-up character. That's about it. Seems to me that people have celebrated it, as it made the numbers" She concluded the subject by saying, "People like it, people dislike it, it's their own personal thing. We have just made a cinema and people should just go and watch a film for the film and not really judge the actor playing these characters. It's acting for a reason, we are pretending on screen, our personality is different, the actors are different."
