Prime Video's NASCAR viewership averages 2.16 million as younger fans tune in
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prime Video averaged 2.16 million for its five NASCAR Cup Series races.
This was the first season the streaming service carried NASCAR events under a seven-year rights deal.
The average was down 17.6% from last year's average of 2.62 million for the five races, which were numbers 13 through 17 on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. Two of last year's races in the comparable period were on Fox.
The decrease in average audience is comparable to other sports that have switched their packages from broadcast to streaming.
The average age of the viewers for the Prime Video races was 56.1, nearly seven years younger than audiences that had watched the first 12 races (62.8).

Ezequiel Ponce, Jonathan Bond lead Dynamo past St. Louis City 1-0
HOUSTON (AP) — Ezequiel Ponce scored in the second half and Jonathan Bond made it stand up as the Houston Dynamo snapped a three-match skid with a 1-0 victory over St. Louis City on Saturday night. Ponce ended a scoreless match when used assists from defenders Felipe Andrade and Franco Escobar to score his fifth goal this season and 10th in his two seasons in the league. Andrade's assist was his first in the rookie's ninth career appearance and Escobar's was his third this season. Bond needed just one save to post his sixth clean sheet of the season for the Dynamo (6-9-5), who beat St. Louis City (3-11-6) for the first time in five regular-season matchups. The two clubs played to a scoreless draw in Houston last season and tied 1-1 there in 2023 — when St. Louis City won the Western Conference regular-season title as an expansion team.(backslash) Roman Bürki finished with five saves for St. Louis City, which falls to 1-7-2 on the road. Toronto takes down the Timbers 3-0 for rare home win
TORONTO (AP) — Alonso Coello and Tyrese Spicer each scored to help injury-depleted Toronto beat the Portland Timbers 3-0 on Saturday night. Toronto (4-10-5) snapped a five-game winless run (0-4-1) at home. Before Saturday, it had collected just five of a possible 33 points at home (1-7-3). Portland (8-5-6) entered having lost just one of its last seven outings (3-1-3). Coello scored on a free kick in the 11th minute when he fired the ball past the Portland wall and Canadian goalkeeper James Pantemis for his second MLS goal. Spicer made it 2-0 in the 56th. Pantemis made a lunging one-handed save to stop Kosi Thompson's header but the ball went back to Spicer, who sent it home for his second of the season.
